Aye and for me the chance to get a decent meat pie, a proper pint and more importantly the chance to chat with proper fans from a proper club in the clubhouse built on the corner of Spotland. Is it a dream or will it really happen?

Will that pie be at the Blues club in Oldham? That’s where we will be.

Can testify to that I-A. Had some good chat with Rochdale fans in that very bar.

Wont ever go back to Oldham Awaywego after the treatment fans got a few years back. Kept out in the pouring rain till 14.20 when turnstyles should open 90 minutes before kick off by league rules, would not let us in the clubhouse ( members only— f**k off Oldham ) and the outlet inside the ground served up shitty lukewarm meat pies and shit coffee. Think we won the game but the damage was done for me, just the other side of the M62 is a lovely warm hospitable club in Rochdale who welcome you into their club with open arms and their fans are always excellent company. Smaller club then Oldham is Rochdale but a hundred times better when it comes to the away fan experience but each to their own, if you fancy Oldham away you crack on Awaywego.

Different club Iron-awe I’m on about the North Chadwick conservative club in Oldham (The Blue Club) Proper home made pie and proper steeped mushy peas, and before any one goes on about it been a Tory club it’s good enough for a ex Scunny labour mayor so should be alright for for everyone. Get on Nogggers tours bus arrives at grounds 15/20 mins before kickoff.

If I’m going to a chip shop in Lancashire I’m having a couple of those steak and kidney puds with my chips.

    Meat pies again?
Bucks will be frothing with indignation.

We’ll miss out on the fish and chips at Ernie Beckett’s.

Rochdale has always been right up their with my favourite away days. For a warm welcome I don’t think you can beat Port Vale, away fans welcomed in the clubhouse, even in colours. Last season a couple of young Vale fans had set up a mini pitch on the clubhouse dance floor and asked my lad if he wanted to join in, lovely people and a cracking pint too!

Shame both grounds aren’t more accessible by train.
