Pre-season:-
Tue, July 9th – Barton Town (A) – 7.30pm
Sat, July 13th – Bradford City (H) – 2pm
Tue, July 16th – Gainsborough Trinity (A) – 7.30pm
Sat, July 20th – Brigg Town CIC (A) – 1pm
Tue, July 23rd – Bottesford Town (A)- 7pm
Sat, July 27th – FC Halifax Town (H) – 1pm
Tue, July 30th – Hartlepool United (A) – 7.45pm
“With six fixtures now confirmed for the first team, there are a couple more to be announced to finalise the pre-season schedule. As soon as they’re confirmed, we will announce.”That seems a punishing schedule considering the size of squad we’re expecting. Plenty of triallists maybe?
June 6, 2024 at 8:11 pm #286800Seems a lot of games – but with trialists and a squad of 21(ish?) I imagine many players will only get to play a half in the early games. Looking forward to it.
June 6, 2024 at 8:30 pm #286802Michelle did mention an influx of trialists would be coming in so these number of games would be a reflection of that. Also of course the current players and the few to come in on perm deals.
I suspect a few of these games will be solely for trialists and a few first team players.

June 7, 2024 at 11:15 am #286804June 7, 2024 at 11:31 am #286805Watched the 78 European cup final when it was our wedding anniversary, funnily enough wifey didn’t want to come along. (Good trip with the bus full from the 1500 club and the boot full of beer)
I’m pretty fair though I do allow her to have claim to new years eve and where we go to, hopefully not to far so I can get back to go to footy.June 7, 2024 at 12:08 pm #286806An evening in Hartlepool on our 42nd wedding anniversary!
She shouldn’t be surprised by now!
June 7, 2024 at 12:58 pm #286807An evening in Hartlepool on our 42nd wedding anniversary!
Should I tell Mrs NI now or on the day?
Don’t tell her now, you might not make it to your 42nd anniversary!!!!

June 7, 2024 at 5:05 pm #286816Funnily enough the only game I’ve ever taken her to was 42 yrs ago at Hartlepool!
Just got back off our honeymoon and it was the opening game of the 82/83 promotion season. We played in all yellow with a green V. 0-0! Strange how she never wanted to go back!
June 7, 2024 at 5:35 pm #286817Great kit tbf
June 7, 2024 at 7:04 pm #286821Was that the season Duncan started as manager and Clarke finished as manager? Won at Chester on last day to seal the deal.
June 8, 2024 at 10:29 am #286831Yes, and also the first season back in claret and blue. Disconcerting for those of us who’d only known an all red kit. New scarves and hats were bought. Was rather fond of this shirt though

He Changed to Man Utd about 1991
June 9, 2024 at 12:29 pm #286844It was I’m afraid, went down with the intention of supporting the English team,
that was till we got in the ground. David Coleman and is sportsnight led me to believe the scoucers were the best fans in the country clapping the opposition off fair minded and just generally nice, afraid not just plain nasty bastards continually attacking groups of Brugge fans when they didn’t want to know.
Became a Man u fan in 68 I believe they won something in 68 with far more panache than any Liverpool side has ever done and certainly not the boring 78 1-0 win.June 9, 2024 at 12:54 pm #286845What’s your opinion of the Glazers?
June 9, 2024 at 3:55 pm #286847No good for united bloody yanks.
June 9, 2024 at 5:57 pm #286848Perhaps they should invite a convicted con man in and things will improve.
June 9, 2024 at 6:03 pm #286849Man U a perfect example about the money machine that is the Premiership, Glaziers must have thought they’d won the lottery becoming owners of one of the biggest names in world football. The Premiership made it easy for them to come and exploit the wealth making capacity of Man U for their own financial ends. Borrowed a lot of money in the clubs name then creamed off loads of profit every year whilst the rest went on paying back the clubs loans, no wonder the Manc fans detest them, very clever capitalists the Glaziers, make loads of money while Old Trafford falls apart around the fans ears, nice.
