Interesting thread. Some are turning on their whiter than white owner as they scrap near the bottom of the league.

Whoever thought giving Hurst lots of money would work? who thought Artell would do any better(4 wins in 20 according to this)

If the cods don’t get relegated this

Typical cod fans. They scrape a win and they’re world beaters, they go a goal down and the owners, manager and players all need replacing.
It looks as though they’ll be saved from relegation by the inept clubs below them, although Sutton United have picked up recently so it should be an interesting last few games.

Maybe one or two things closer to home to consider?

I think they’ll have enough to stay up, their away form seems better, if they can pick something up v Colchester that would be good for them. A lot of Grimsby fans helped us out so for this season (only!) I hope they stay up.

    Grimsby – 40 played, 40 pts
    Sutton – 42 played, 39 pts
    Colchester – 39 played, 38 pts
    Forest Green – 41 played, 36 pts

    All very tight down there

Mick would be tearing his hair out if he had any left!

It has been a dreadful season for us I expected a decent one in all honesty , if we go down it will be a disaster . It’s not beyond the realm we could be playing you again next season .

Don’t think either of us will be in NL next season.
(But as a biased Iron fan I can hope we both are!!)

Paul Hurst takes them to the FA Cup quarter final. Next minute they want him sacked.
The signings would suggest he didn’t have much of the cup money to spend, Eastwood for example who wasn’t great for us. Or players just don’t want to move/ commute to Grimsby.
Also hilarious that artell made them much easier to beat initially.

He had money alright just spent it really poorly on the wrong players , he was so much better working with a smaller budget – he will probably do better with Shrewsbury as they are skint .

The playing budget last season was 4.1 million so I shudder at the thought of what it is this season with the ‘extra ‘ cup money , no doubt a good bit more . Luckily the owners are relatively wealthy and willing to write it off but the game’s gone mad as we are seemingly one of the better run league 2 clubs but still losing 1-1.5 million each season .

    Bonkers

Probably safe now with Sutton and Colchester losing, but only just!
