    Todays First X1:

    Dewhurst
    Ogle
    O’Malley
    Whitehouse
    Boyce
    Feeney
    Beestin
    Nuttall
    Taft
    Butterfield
    Gallimore

    Crystal ball time.

Where will we end up at the end of the season?

Pre Farsley game, and as the squad stands now, I’m going to say 19th.

The starting XI could only draw with Farsley after an hour before all ten outfield players were subbed.

    We still need those forwards!

It’s straight from the Serena Wiegman playbook NI. First 11 softens them up then the youngsters come on and bang the goals in.

As long as it doesn’t equate to first XI knackered after an hour.

We’ve been down that road before!

Must have been nice for Keef to be able to sub all 10 outfield players.

Lost count how many times I have wished we could do that over the last 4 seasons.

Optimistic me says top10 reality probably 12th to 18th
If we finish the season with new owners still in this division and the club intact I think most of us will be delighted
Come on Scunny give it a decent go and a FA Cup run involving beating Harry the Haddock will be ok with that UTI

2 half decent forwards and a left sided centre back (is Delaney busy?) and we will hover between mid table and the edge of the playoffs.

Without and we will hover between low mid table and the bottom four.

I think if we sign 2 good strikers and a left sided attacker, top 6 I think. No reason why we can’t compete, Boyce and Taft strong at CB, Ogle now strengthening the right side and O’Malley is more than talented enough for this league.

I don’t think many teams will have a midfield central 3 much better than Whitehouse, Beestin and Butterfield.

All depends on 3 more signings “good signings” and having a squad that’s not having people break down every couple of matches.

Couple 3 good signings with new owners and a fresh start..I’m quite optimistic.

Gk position worries me slightly but Dewhurst looks a very able GK. Only worry is that if he hits a bad patch/loses confidence we’ve only got young Foster as back up. That could prove problematic.

We have a poor record as regards fitness and injuries.

So agree with the above. A decent first XI on paper doesn’t equate to decent performances over the course of a season.

First 11 mid table, if and when the injuries and suspensions bite we will be in a relegation battle. No real strength in depth that you need to compete near the top.

All depends if we get two good strikers, left sided attacker and possibly another CB.. If we get those and properly strengthen then we’ll be ok.

without any further additions ..ie strikers .. we are relegation fodder n in for a real tough season
comorm keef sign a striker or 2 .. with some goals in the locker.

mid table survival is the best outcome on offer as with this current mob no way can we compete with the likes of Wrexhan , Notts County Chestefield let alone Oldham Southend

IFA – if we get new owners – the striker situation will have to be remedied as Job Number One.
If they can’t do that – then only shall we have problems. They must know that they have to come in prepared to spend six or seven hundred k in the next few months or there is zero chance of any bounceback.

Bringing in a decent striker will probably involve a fee and a decent wage. Will that cause problems with those playing for peanuts?

Finding a striker to come here when we were in the league was hard never mind being a non league outfit. Especially when you are scraping away at the bottom of the barrel.

If he scores lots of goals it won’t cause the slightest problem.

If he only matches the strike rate of recent Iron forwards then he won’t be the most popular lad in the dressing room.

8th just miss out on playoffs like when bookies pay 5 places and my selection finishes 6th. Regarding strikers the Cods were moaning about not having a recognised number nine yesterday and they are a league team!!!!!.

The sky is the limit provided the manager sticks to what our team does for every game. If he sets up to cope with others ie: Targeting – then problems will occur and no higher than 10th.

Go for it every game and top 3 could be on. But it depends on what Mr Hill does. A couple of strikers may be in the offing but all will have to see if that happens.

All I do ask for is when any of the acad or 1st year pro’s play stick with them they will need your help. Best to all for next week, for those who travel please be safe.

Potentially. What else can we do though ?

I do have a sneaking suspicion players will start coming in but only once we’re taken over and we actually have a pot to piss in. I wouldn’t at all be surprised if Hill hasn’t already singled out players ready to move once the takeovers gone through.
