Has scored for Spennymoor tonight, 6th min.
We’ll have a clause that he can’t feature against us?
They are only 3 points off of a play off place as things stand.
The irony if…April 2, 2025 at 1:34 am #301452Pretty sure he can’t play against us.
April 2, 2025 at 9:35 am #301459It’ll be written in the loan deal that he can’t play against us, knowing Fin, even if he is allowed to he wouldn’t want to.

April 2, 2025 at 9:42 am #301460If, let’s say, there was a scenario where Scunthorpe ended up facing Spennymoor in the final of the Play Offs then surely you’d recall Shrimpton and put him straight in the side. Just for the absolute Whitehallery of it.

April 6, 2025 at 7:46 am #301818Good lad. He’s obviously got stuck in at at Spennymoor and judging from the pictures on their website he’s enjoying it.

April 6, 2025 at 1:36 pm #301828Just needed a run of games in his position while he gains league experience. But we are unable to do that and I don’t understand why. At the most important time – 5 games to go and we have a right back on the bench and we have a left back at right back.
Need an emergency CF and Fin could do that.
April 18, 2025 at 9:22 pm #302597Scored again today for Spennymoor.
If we are seriously still considering getting promotion out of this dog turd league we need him back asap in my opinion.April 18, 2025 at 9:43 pm #302604Not fair to bring him back when he is going to a Wembley Final

April 18, 2025 at 9:56 pm #302607And when has he looked decent in the odd appearances for us this season? Enjoying his football at Spenny for some reason and they’re getting a tune from him. Same as last season. Don’t see it benefiting either him or us to bring him back right now.
April 18, 2025 at 9:58 pm #302608I get that but if Wembley is the reason to leave him on loan then we aren’t really serious about promotion. We’ve got 2 important games next week that could still win us automatic promotion and if not then at least give us an advantage in the playoffs. Shrimpton is in good form and scoring goals, all hands needed on our deck.

Would be an awful decision to recall him now.
Let him enjoy his football and a trip to Wembley
April 18, 2025 at 11:16 pm #302617I hope he nets the winner at Wembley!

April 19, 2025 at 6:37 am #302629Well at least I know then that we are charity for young players to have experience days at Wembley not a professional full time club trying to get out of non league.
Unless we wouldn’t recall him anyway because Butler thinks he’s not good enough.
For me Shrimpton walks into our current team at the very least ahead of Scales.April 19, 2025 at 7:32 am #302634I’d rather he stayed there and come back here as a WINNER and inspire his team mates next season than to come here to drink from the poisoned cup of play off failure.
If they made the mistake of bringing him back, then how demotivated would he be missing out on a once in a career (at this level) opportunity to play at Wembley.
He’d be gutted!
We wouldn’t see the player that Spennymoor are enjoying.Even Stan & Schofield aren’t that stupid that they’d even consider it!

We’ll just give him away like so many others.
Watched Kyle Wootton put himself about for Stockport yesterday, he was raw and developing at the time but obviously not good enough for our brains trust in the stand
April 19, 2025 at 8:03 am #302636In recent seasons we have had young players who deserved the same opportunity of game time that average loanees have had and even now players have been released and players no better [or worse] brought in !
What we lost was their love for the club that gave them a chance, now so many say some players do not seem to care. At least they would battle !
I have always backed ‘homegrown’ and always will. People used to complain about Lewis Butroid – how many LB’s have we has since he left ? When he was playing he rarely got help from the wide mid like others got.
