I would actually have given it a try but on match day mornings in winter I plan to be in rather sunnier climes.
(Degenerative arthritis of the spine is not quite as much fun as it sounds and my back really does not need a cold climate.)
How’s your back these days, Alcy?

Would a Fans Panel be necessary if management read Iron Bru and took on board some (not the obvious anti-club/anti-Swann offerings) of the many valid points raised on here in recent years? Will it make any difference if (for example) catering issues are raised face to face rather than reported on a regular basis on this board?

If it is important to you,you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Yeah might’ve been interested if there was any chance they wouldn’t ignore everything that was said.

If there was any hint that they had listened to anything the fans had said over the last few years then it may have been worthwhile.

First suggestion – give us our ground back.

You all said you wanted fan engagement and the first chance you have you all bottle it. How surprising. But don’t worry some fans will take it on, then you will be able to slag them off for been club stooges.

Awaywego—same as stated mate, it is too late to consider takingon board what supporters actually think and wish to suggest. Us long term supporters of the club have lost our stadium, car park and training pitch land, we have also lost our better players and are now left with a very poor squad for the coming season. We have also lost any idea’s regarding watching entertaining football, and money has dried up, so any new recruits will be what can be obtained on low wages and no longer wanted by their present clubs.

So after asswssing this, the club must have come up with this fans meeting thing after seeing the pathetic to date sale of season tickets, after the continual plugging every day on the club site, this is not what fans need telling dailey, they want to read of a few new players coming in to replace the 18 ditched during the summer, like a good centre forward, a clever winger and a goal keeper, not even more defenders, although after saying that, we don’t attack, so it may be right to bring ib nore defenders!!! No it is far too late for this suggested system.

Nobody is ‘bottling it’ merely questioning its value. How would you answer the questions posed in my earlier post above?

At least the club are trying, and they’ve got to start again from somewhere to get many of you onboard, so at least give it a go. Or is everyone gonna be like alcy and hold a grudge forever. I know scunny fans are good at that. BS just been on 8 different club web sites everyone pushing the tickets barring one and they are pushing the shirts, at Lincoln you even need an appointment to go and get your season ticket, funnily enough the only club not pushing them was scunny, they were pushing the supporters panel. So really were no different to any other club in that respect.

Surprisingly I agree with much of what Bartonscorpion says.

The damage has been done. Irrevocably some may say.

However honourable the idea of a fans panel it won’t get us the ground back. It won’t get us a squad that can win us promotion.

The fans weren’t even listened to on the kit vote, given what we’ve ended up with. So what’s the likelihood of being listened to on a panel?

Remember those token “Students Committees” at school?

Rather like politicians canvassing before an election they’ll nod their heads and tell us they’re on our side, but ultimately do what they want.

The best that’ll come of it will be shorter queues at the refreshment kiosks, but given what the gates are likely to be that’s going to happen anyway!

I admire your enthusiasm for it Awaywego. I’m guessing you and UTI99 have already applied. Or will UTI be sat on the other side of the table?

Have things over the years improved ?
Have things over the years got worse ? Yes
Fans Forums turned in a joke and no one listened too. Only held because of EFL Rules.
Just another smoke screen so the Club can say they meet with supporters.

I have no enthusiasm for it NI, but thought it would be good for those who aren’t happy with things at the moment. I’ve done my bit down the years on committees at work and socially and don’t know wether I have said before I was a shop steward for 30 plus years(TW). So i will not be putting my name forward, retired now from all that, Ironawe too,he becomes a real OAP this month.

As always, bloody painful, slowly losing the use of my left arm due to nerve damage, recurrent sciatica in my right leg.
Doesn’t bode well for me as a 24/7 carer as I get older.😥😥
And, of course, I must continually thank the most caring Liebour party for removing the only painkillers that helped me😠

No appetite for wasting time trying to inform those who “know best”.
I can be ignored in comfort at home, thanks.

I pay £40 quid a pop to the former Sheffield Steelers physio whenever I get too painful – and it buys me 7+ days of pain easing.
    Take care, Jeff!

This is so patronizing. Since the 1st Fans Forum having gained control of the club all I heard was no notice of fans suggestions would happen.

The 1st forum openly said any suggestion was distrusted because people would want some financial reward for it !! That they have been in the entertainment business and they know what is needed so leave it with them ! Said just wanted fans to turn up pay to get in, have a pie & a pint then having watched an entertaining game of football leave an go home ! That is all they wanted !!

Subsequent forums suggestions were quickly dealt with, the fans 100% ignored so I stopped going.

Of course now it will be the fans fault ! As I said so patronizing.

Swann has always said until fans have the amount of money to put into the club they can then have a say in what goes on. I’m pretty sure he used to say something along those lines.

What we’ve always heard from him is “I put the money in so I have the say”

As many other people have said the damage has already been done.

It’s treating fans like crap which has led to the apathy. Oh that and taking the ground from the club. I can’t say that helped matters.

Why will you back someone who routinely ‘thanks’ the Big J poster that posts extreme racist and homophobic content?

Pure coincidence fans forum comes out just before press release transfer embargo (club didn’t bother breaking the news).

Part of conditions maybe to assure fans about the viability of the club and getting a voice?

Highly unlikely that the vice like grip will be loosened.

Kind of like applying for the Diversity Officer’s role in the Third Reich
