Difference is, opposition fans take the piss out of us, not give us theirs!
November 21, 2022 at 1:31 pm #248987Especially the Cods. Lots of ours went on their forum when they went down and gave them both barrels and more. We are now getting what was expected in return and although there are a few that want us to drop further and survive, the majority want us cast into oblivion never to return.

😂FA Cup 2015/16 Chelsea
League Cup 2010/11 Man UtdWrexham’s home league form:
Wrexham P10 – W10 – GF37 – GA9 – GD+28
Score could be anything.
6-1
November 23, 2022 at 7:33 am #249088At least we don’t have to play in the Papa Johns Trophy anymore. 700 at Grimsby and 1445 at Lincoln last night, barely worth the costs of putting the game on but the EFL desperately want to keep their pointless sham cup going.

A worthless competition.
Scrap it.November 23, 2022 at 9:18 am #249092Not that it concerns us anymore but I’ve always said it should be scrapped and the League Cup should be for EFL clubs only (ie no PL). The PL managers are always moaning about too many fixtures anyway.

The Premier League are basically subsidising it for their B teams.

Again, the EFL can’t afford this. The TV contract for the EFL matches also includes the League Cup and without those games, there’s no way Sky are paying anything like the current sum. I seem to remember that during the Covid shutdown, Sky tried to renegotiate the value of the contract and it was clear they valued the League Cup much higher than any amount of Football League matches.
November 23, 2022 at 6:24 pm #249130And there we have it!
