October 4, 2022 at 9:26 am #246093Thanks for the info NI and astraman would seem like bus replacement for part of the journey now, unless you can suggest an alternative. Not booking train tickets till they announce the tv game if there looking for a potential shock( maybe not to us) then our game must be up there.
October 4, 2022 at 9:50 am #246094someone on Twitter checked train prices and said they were too expensive.
October 4, 2022 at 10:38 am #246095They are Mick but I can get my head round it by taking the 2 lads using a railcard, weird logic costs more but heho it makes me happy.

Thanks for that. Used the Metro between Wallsend and Newcastle last week, but didn’t know about the line south of the river.
I’m seeing my mate from Shields tomorrow so I’ll get the full SP.
Sunderland home to Wigan that day btw.

Rang yesterday and told buses every 15 minutes and it adds about 20 minutes to the journey.1 user thanked author for this post.
October 5, 2022 at 1:47 pm #246215When are the BBC going to announce their TV game, at the moment all games are TBC, no tickets on sale no bloody nothing.
October 7, 2022 at 9:39 am #246357Started selling tickets now through South Shields web page, 425 allocation. The mighty BBC still haven’t decided which game to show so there saying 3pm kickoff TBC. Really just not good enough no thought whatsoever for traveling fans for all clubs in the draw.
October 7, 2022 at 12:10 pm #246361Poor excuse to criticise the BBC. There will be numerous reasons they haven’t released details of which matches they’re covering that are not necessarily their fault.

October 7, 2022 at 8:43 pm #246394Anstey v Chesterfield on BBC
October 8, 2022 at 9:05 am #246403And Blyth v Wrexham.
October 8, 2022 at 12:56 pm #246415I don’t think Blyth is being televised Cass it is still down as a 3pm kickoff but Chesterfield are on BBC
October 8, 2022 at 2:47 pm #246419From NL news mick:-
” Wrexham AFC’s FA Cup fourth qualifying round fixture at Blyth Spartans will now kick-off at 1pm due to TV coverage.
The Red Dragons travel to Blyth for the match on Saturday October 15, and the fixture at Croft Park will now kick-off two hours earlier.”October 8, 2022 at 7:27 pm #246463I have asked a Wrexham fan who didn’t know on Twitter and then another Wrexham fan said ESPN America

Sods law.
Looks like buses from Heworth to Bede(Nearest Metro Stop) if you’re on Public Transport. takes half an hour it says, so not much different to the normal Metro.
October 9, 2022 at 11:39 am #246491Metro is running to Pelaw, but Heworth Interchange is your best bet for replacement buses.
The problem you’ve got is that the current ground isn’t in South Shields (if like me you went to that tie fifty years ago it’s a different venue), it’s in the middle of Bede Trading Estate between Shields and Jarrow. My mate reckons you’ll find a parking spot somewhere near. One of the guys I’m going with has a disabled parking badge, so that’s what we’ll be doing.
October 9, 2022 at 12:39 pm #246494I’m guessing you will limp into the ground then NI, lets hope we don’t limp out the cup with another game of two halves display.
October 9, 2022 at 12:42 pm #246495Thanks for all the info NI, Heworth any good for drinking?
October 9, 2022 at 12:50 pm #246497Heworth is by a road junction, there’s nothing there. Gateshead or even Newcastle nearest, there used to be a pub at Felling Station but don’t know if it is still open.

The Swan opposite the interchange car park was okay the last time I was in.
If you’re getting on the Metro at Newcastle Central Station there’s better options there. Head of Steam is good. Centurion Bar at the station is pretty spectacular.

October 9, 2022 at 5:02 pm #246507The Swan not a chance we ain’t giving any more money to the Swan.

October 9, 2022 at 7:12 pm #246513I hope the Swan up in NI’s patch doesn’t charge you for a pint then serve you a half.

October 18, 2022 at 10:40 am #246932Would have been a poor draw for me, I wouldn’t have bothered with it.
