Aye, what happened to the ‘sound businessman’ schtick?
Looking through the Maguire posts it seems likely that both Swann and Apollo knew for some time there was a problem. Others must have known too. But for whatever reason, nothing was done about it.

I suppose we can now claim that we truly made Ivan Toney the man he is today!

Why would St Steve despair he did sell to Swanny and got his money back, whereas Swanny won’t get all his money back, probably laughing his socks off at the fool.

I was always told, that if you enjoy a bet (and have the funds to do so) – then open a bookies.

Take the money off of the ‘mugs’ who frequent the establishment (showing my age, as it’s all on line these days)

This whole business seems a bit ‘James Bond-ish’ or is it more akin to ‘Austin Powers’

Oh maybe because he genuinely loves the club and is desperately sad to see where it’s gone under the chancer gambler owner. You know just little points like that.

Unsurprisingly didnt take Swan to come out with a statement re his current gambling legal issues, if only they were as forthcoming when updating his “”up for sale”” football club…

    Greed.

That’s a little slow to load up & play.
Here’s a slightly shorter version that boots straight up.

If he’d stayed Ironawe. His last season in charge 4.5 million drop in income but could only reduce outgoings by 2 million we’d have been in the same boat under him imo, didn’t even have enough money to offer Cliff another contract the obvious choice for a future manager after 10 years service, and the rest is history glad I was round to see it all warts and all especially the Wharton era.

“Monies which I gambled on various sports (I did not gamble on football) were all my own personal money”

Was it not ‘money’ they lent on credit?

“I gambled on various sports (I did not gamble on football)”

    High profile case.
I’m guessing the FA will investigate to ascertain which markets bets were laid.
    If they don’t then…

As an aside I hope that a fellow Iron from the legal profession can turn the tables and use Ernest’s legal tactics and claims against the man himself!

    That ship has sailed…

Well as you say it’s an opinion based on what may have happened, which is just supposition on your part. What we have now is reality under the current owner and it is entirely down to him, nobody else, you would do better to live in the here and now when attempting to defend your hero.

No hero of mine, but would take him any day of the week rather than no owner at all and have always been consistent on that.

Nice deflection, your previous point, which you nicely skipped with your last response, is pure conjecture and without value. What we see now of the position of our club is it being owned by a badly performing businessman who is in debt up to his neck in his personal life and has driven our club to what could turn out to be extinction in its current form. Steve Wharton took us nowhere near were we currently are with our football club yet you continue being a Swann apologist with your meaningless drivel about him. Merry Christmas.

The club would only be turned into extinction if nobody buys the club.

Or in the absence of a buyer, the club is simply wound up, and the assets (players, stadium, land) sold off to cover losses. A bit like taking an old banger off the road, parting it out, and flogging anything useful on Fleabay.

Just goes to show how stupid scunny fans are wanting Swanny to sell if no buyer is there, acting a bit like lemmings rather have no club than Swann I just want a club to watch Swann or no Swann.

Actually when he took over control the club was in league two.

I wish to hell that they still were Brian, please do not feel sorry for this guy, at the end of the day, he also gambled with SUFC with his day dreams, just think after losing millions upon millions by chasing losses with even more money, there is no reason for any one supporter of SUFC to feel sorrow for taking our club into the place they are in now, and sadly we cannot even hold our own in non-league fooiball.

Sadly I predicted this end for our once great little club, maybe Swann will sue other members of league 1 & 2 when we were in them, for allowing Scunny to lose game after game and not taking any action of stopping the defeats ha ha! What happened to that New Stadium contractor that Swann took to court???

Apparently, only 2% to 3% of all bets placed are winners.

Why 52.4% is the most important percentage in sports gambling.
    52.4% = break even.

Professional Sports Gamblers experience win percentages of approximately 55 to 56%

    The maths:

Apollo counter suing Ernest now for another £200,000.

Talk about mug punter. I bet the real winners wear gowns and wigs!
