To keep us up!!
Tonight we’ve dragged ourselves out of the bottom 4 but by Sunday we all know we’ll be back in it!!
The interim mangers post match interview goes totally against the commentary… for Neil Cox to point out the overload in midfield while we played 3 x CB to mark 1 x Striker is worrying!!
Tonight we’ve beaten a team who we’re promoted last year, can’t name a full bench of subs and have 3 first choice CB’s out and We’ve also had 2 dubious penalties.
They are clearly (on paper) a team we beat with ease!!!
There’s some good players in this squad and all I want (like many others) is survival… I look at the clubs around us and it’s more than possible but I don’t feel Daws can do that!!
An odd post after a win but I’m not getting carried away and all the warning signs still exist… we just played a really poor team tonight!!
But 4 really poor teams get relegated!!
I couldn’t accept us being one of them.2 users thanked author for this post.

Let’s go 2-4-4 when a team only plays one striker?
‘Good’ players, really? A kid on loan learning his trade.

October 26, 2022 at 9:36 am #247550Come on SS, Daws is doing ok, his record is streets ahead of “experienced” manager Hill’s this season, with exactly the same squad.
It’s not the biggest priority for me, not by a long chalk.

October 26, 2022 at 9:51 am #247560Aye, can’t deny he’s no worse than Hill. Or Cox for that matter.

October 26, 2022 at 9:54 am #247561I’m sure Daws is doing his best he’s a trier, we need a buyer.

Keith Hill: 5 wins in 48 games
Tony Daws: 2 wins in 8 gamesQuite a bit better, I’d say!

Cox seems to have more management nous from the commentary box than he ever did from the dugout.

You played on a field!!! We played int middle of road with a dustbin for wickets, a brush for a bat and rolled up newspaper glued together for a ball. Three of our players weren’t out, they were run over. You had it easy lad.

October 26, 2022 at 12:39 pm #247587You had a brush – luxury. We had to lick the yard clean!!

Really – Really, all that he kept saying on Tuesday night was for Scunny to drop back and defend, along with 32 “really’s and 6 really-really’s”, Christ where the hell does RH still keep inviting him back??, where has Tom Newey gone?????

You didn’t need a brush Cass with a tash like you have !!!!!

I couldn’t accept us being one of them.STILL not in the bottom 4….
None of the penalties were dubious a blatant handball and a clumsy foul on Wilson. Whether they was promoted last season or not we still had to beat them… if we didn’t they would get slated. York were also promoted and we didn’t win either..
We have played a couple of teams worse than Gateshead too but haven’t beat them.
November 4, 2022 at 10:15 pm #248171Everything is fine then!!
Ignore my post, clearly we’re on for a good league table finish based on your prognosis
November 4, 2022 at 10:58 pm #248174SS I understand your frustration with the situation, the majority will probably feel the same but the big issue is money, you heard LT on the radio interview, there is no money for extra players, even though we need them, until the club is sold and new investment arrives. That should tell you all you need to know about a new manager arriving, it won’t be happening anytime soon, we have to deal with what we have and hope a miracle happens quick. ( just to clarify, I don’t believe in miracles )
November 5, 2022 at 12:28 am #248179Terrible not believing in miracles, if it wasn’t for believing in miracles Hot Chocolate wouldn’t have had their hit. On a more serious note I just hope the sale goes through soon and doesn’t drag on for another 2 or 3 months, by that time we’d be beyond saving.
The squad depth is shocking.

November 16, 2022 at 2:25 pm #248722Turnbull needs to get his finger out is arse and put Daws back in the cupboard and get York’s ex manager maybe he could keep us up but if not he’s had experience in national league north where we appear to be heading.

November 16, 2022 at 2:29 pm #248723York’s now ex-manager isn’t that great. I’ve seen a few York matches over the last two seasons as we live near York and my daughter is a City fan. He doesn’t strike me as a manager that could do any better than what we already have in place. To add to that, he was sacked because he fell out with the chairman, I cannot see that being seen as a favourable asset by the current owners
