Anyone know if this is pay on the gate. Hoping it won’t be the last time I see the iron in a football league game as it will probably be my only live game this season. Anyone else from cornwall heading up? UTI
January 5, 2022 at 7:59 pm #220658I may be travelling up Porthleven. Probably cost me a trip to IKEA with the good lady though.🙄 Just up the road from you in Godolphin.

You two might have plenty of space on the terrace but you’ll have to sing for the rest of us!

January 14, 2022 at 12:30 am #221578well done Ferrite i hope the long trip is both safe and enjoyable.
Praying for a win or a point ..another defeat cement our problems with others around seemingly improving ..ie Carlisle n Stevenage

January 14, 2022 at 11:20 am #221612A sad indicator of how disillusioned everybody is.
To be honest, I’m not even that bothered what league we end up; it would just be nice to take over 1,000 to an away game again and have a feel good factor about the club.
January 14, 2022 at 12:05 pm #221618Exeter is one of my favourite away trips, it’s a great town and a nice ground too. I’d be going under different circumstances.

Teams have done that in the fifth tier, including our neighbours.
Maybe we could…oh…(wakes up from afternoon nap)January 14, 2022 at 6:14 pm #221641Don’t think it’s obligatory to wake up 💀
January 14, 2022 at 6:39 pm #2216433-0 Exeter.
Prediction League teaser.
I think for this one I’m going to put 0 next to the Iron and roll a dice for the Exeter score!
January 14, 2022 at 6:42 pm #221645Might need to use 2 dice NI.

January 14, 2022 at 8:10 pm #221651Jarvis and Burns up top ?
Manny, Beestin , Kenyon need to come in and Millen/Rowe need to be at RB now.
January 14, 2022 at 8:18 pm #221653Let’s just keep our fingers crossed, we are due a bit of luck.

January 14, 2022 at 8:42 pm #221654Not a system I’d normally suggest but maybe:-
Watson
Millen Onariase Taft O’Malley
Rowe Kenyon
Hippolyte Hackney Beestin
Bunnmight keep us in the game long enough to sneak something.

Bad idea. Little Bunn up top on his lonesome, the ball would just come back all the time.
I’d go with
Watson
Millen Onariase Taft O’Malley
Kenyon
Hippolyte Hackney Beestin
Jarvis BurnsWe surely need some kind of physical presence up front and Jarvis is the only real one who offers any, not really a goal threat but decent at holding the ball up at times.
We could go Jarvis or Bunn upfront but Bunn to me looks more like a link player, one who knits stuff together playing in the no 10 role.
Hill could take one of the central midfielders out and play Bunn in behind Jarvis and Burns but doubt he’d do that because he lined up with that at Mansfield away and we got overrun.

Eat shit and die then
January 14, 2022 at 11:40 pm #221663I am going for 4-0, the young new lad looked quick and got himself into a couple of good scoring positions, and did not get a lot of playing time, so he must be given a start, but we are still selecting a team from the squad that Cox assembled, so even with Keith Hill now in charge god help him with that lot.

January 15, 2022 at 2:19 am #221669If Hill goes back to fielding his best players in their best positions we’ll be a hell of a lot more stronger.
Two positions that really, really worry me is CD and up top. I think with Beestin, Hippolyte and Hackney in CM, that’s pretty solid at this level.
Kenyon will do ok in DCM.
I just hope Manny is ok because without him the other 3 drop to bits.
I just hope Burns hits the ground running upfront because Jarvis and Bunn won’t score many. Jessop and Big Bad Turan as the reserves.
That’s just plain insulting even typing.

Blimey, I don’t!
Beestin is no Neale Bishop, Hippolyte is no Duane Holmes and Hackney is certainly no Ryan Yates!
But Perry and Pugh are too powder puff for a relegation scrap so I suppose it’s Hobson’s Choice!
I’d rather see Hallam up front but we won’t go into the intricacies of that!

January 15, 2022 at 3:50 pm #221708New lad is getting a baptism of fire here- if he doesn’t get some protection in the second half they will score down that side.
Not creating anything again; can see our only chance of scoring will come from a set play.
January 15, 2022 at 5:16 pm #221717Ultimately, it’s men against boys. If Jarvis would have bagged that chance then we may have salvaged a point, however it wouldn’t have been deserved and we were outplayed throughout.
We are asking a young lad who’s never played league football before and a bloke who’s scored 14 in 41 for Basingstoke to score enough goals to keep us up. It’s incompetent at best.
17 games left to go and I’m convinced the end of 72 years of league football is nigh. For those who are staying away, I’d advise popping down once or twice before the end of the season.

January 15, 2022 at 5:18 pm #221719Two mistakes: Mason didn’t get across Brown allowing the shot; shabby goalkeeping for the second.
January 15, 2022 at 5:35 pm #221724Change the goalie, it hasn’t done any harm for Carlisle Howard has stabilized them. ” Get Rory out”.

You keep posting crap like this.
Whichever group of 11 players are picked or formation chosen, the last 2 seasons have shown that we are NOT OK or pretty solid at this level!

January 15, 2022 at 5:49 pm #2217275 shots, 0 on target how many times have we heard that this season, at least Keith Hill says the players aren’t good enough.

January 15, 2022 at 5:59 pm #221731Comments from Lee Turnbill on Hullberside were interesting “KDT not good enough” along with other comments he didn’t make but alluded to.
January 15, 2022 at 6:07 pm #221732Lee told me last season Vader that not many of last seasons lot he would have recommended for signing, I haven’t had a word with him since he was on commentary before Christmas, but last time I text him he said keep the faith though it is very difficult.
January 16, 2022 at 9:25 am #221816Given our current league position I would have expected to feel more critical of the players, certainly yesterday I felt as though it was a lack of quality rather than a lack of effort.
This season particularly we seem to be relying on a number of players being picked every week who in all reality should be no more than squad players, the standard of loan players brought in over the last few seasons has been shocking at best – it tells it’s own story that Scrimshaw was far and away the best of the 3 we’ve had from Bournemouth over the last 2 years!!
I don’t particularly want to mention any players by name but how much easier on the young lads coming through would it have been to integrate them into a side with a few experienced & quality players alongside them to talk them through games and ease them into league football. Whichever way I look at it, it keeps coming back to recruitment. Whether that ultimately falls at the door of Cox, Swann Jr. or Swann Sr?6 users thanked author for this post.

When did we ever play a midfield 3 of Bishop, Yates and Holmes?
