Featherstone put stability in who’s midfield? Certainly wasn’t ours…was at the club for about 2 weeks without making an appearance!

“Featherstone always was a tidy player, did the basic work that many are unable to do. Put stability in the midfield.”

Tidy player who’s found his level.

Looking around on the internet I can see numerous clubs are going about their business, building a squad for the coming season. It appears however, that Swann’s over ambitious promise of having the squad in place for the coming season by the end of May is to be chalked up to his long list of empty promises.

The only recruitment we’re seeing at Scunthorpe is for matchday catering and bar staff. If next season goes as I fear, we won’t need to recruit many of those as the ground will be back to attendance levels last seen in 1985/86 season.

Cheers for that Yossarian. I doubt Swann junior will want anybody stepping on his vastly experienced toes though.

Has anybody stopped to think that maybe the guy WAS telling the truth, and we have got what we are having for the season?

Well the first 3 “possibles” don’t excite me, much as I like to see local boys come good.

I’m not that keen on whisky.

I must admit, that thought has crossed my mind on more than one occasion. If this is indeed the truth then we might as well start planning our away days to Eastleigh, Boreham Wood, and Wealdstone for 2022/23.

Yup. Irish better value for the good stuff, IA. Triple distilled.
Good scotch is far more pricey yet only Double Distilled.

Am on Warfarin so restricted to 2 singles a day.

Have big birthday coming up – some bottles of really good stuff a strong possibility.

Well I’m a Scotch malt man as you probably remember les but double or triple distilled a preference is a preference and a choice is what makes us all free. Enjoy your drop of Irish and your upcoming birthday, may you have many more of both to come. Cheers.

I’m a Cognac, Armagnac and especially Calvados man.

Some of the medium priced French supermarket Cognacs and Calvados are outstanding.

Considering Scotch on a budget – so many are really poor.(Happily, I do actually have some better ones stashed away.)
Aldi Speyside Glen Marnoch at £16-49 is very drinkable.
The other two in that series are pretty ordinary.

Good news is that Asda often sells Bushmills at £16 which is the best bargain I know.

Still, not all palates are the same. My wife got me a tot of something nice after an ice cream. I struggled to recognise it at all.

Preferences vary – as indeed they should.

Like a drop of Bushmills myself les ( see I’m not a total philistine 😂 ) but Morrisons don’t stock it that often, glad you like the occasional drop of smokey, peaty malt though. Love a drop of Speyside.

You should all go over to the darkside. Give your liver’s all a good battering and get on the Tennants Super.

An ice cold can of that would be lovely this weather.

Nowt wrong with a cold beer WG, I often frequent on a hot day sunbathing in the garden but the malt whisky or whiskey which ever the preference is just another type of drinking experience, it’s not for quaffing it’s for appreciating and enjoy a wonderful distilled product. Maybe when your a bit older you may get into it, it’s well worth it.

Sorry to break up an interesting discussion.

At this point, I have identified just 35 signings made by League Two teams.
That is approximately 1.5 per club.

So we are not too far behind but we need rather more vacancies filled than most of the others.
