Unless he was talking about his fantasy football team for the Euros.
June 4, 2021 at 1:44 pm #208014Maybe he was telling the truth and we’re not making any signings and going with what we’ve got plus the youth team. Wouldn’t surprise me!

June 5, 2021 at 12:14 am #208023Neil Cox was at the Scorpions v Eastbourne Championship Speedway meeting tonight, either looking at signing a couple of our riders to put a bit of enthusiasme and fight into the Iron team, or was he just wanting to watch some entertaining all action sport after the miserable season played out by his inapt shower of so called footballers.

June 5, 2021 at 8:06 am #208027What did he have to say to you? I take it you you told him you will no longer be a season ticket holder and the reasons behind it.
June 5, 2021 at 5:31 pm #208036Actually Awaywego, I didn’t know it was him until it was pointed out to me by the Scunthorpe Supporters Club Chairman who I was talking to, but he will already be aware that many of us long term supporters have had their fill of the things that have gone on at GP during the past 4 years. I cannot see why you are shocked by the fact that many of us will no longer be turning out to watch such shite, and with the remaining players things can only get worse, I did manage to tell Neil that Awaywego and Uptheiron69 will be still sitting in the directors seating, he told me that the two named where actually the same person. Please do not come back and tell us that we are not true fans if we turn our backs on the club, I assume 70 years of attending is enough to back up what I say. As I have stated many times mate, I shall possibly still go to an odd match, but that will only happen if they change this defensive boring shite, but that is not very likely is it.
Anyway Awaywego, I wish you all the joy at the games, and hope you see Scunny score a few goals.1 user thanked author for this post.
June 5, 2021 at 6:09 pm #208037Would have been nice for you to tell him to his face that you won’t be attending after 70 years of supporting the iron rather than informing us at every given opportunity.
June 5, 2021 at 6:18 pm #208038Just watched Notts Co beat Chesterfield.
Both sides had more about them than the sides we were putting out last season.
Cracking forward at Notts Co grabbed a brace – Kyle someone or other.GK Sam mixed performance but commanded his box far better than ever seen before.

June 5, 2021 at 6:54 pm #208039Decent game Les and agree both teams would probably beat our team of last season.
Shame Slocombe made the mistake on the first goal. Played well after that and came off his line to good effect when needed.
Good to see Kyle has added a little bit of nasty to his game. Loft was one of our more effective players last season but on today’s showing Kyle woold be an upgrade on him. He will be back in the efl next season even if Notts County don’t make it.

That would be the Kyle someone or other described on this forum as ” utter dog mess ” and ” not even non league standard ” by two of our ” resident football experts ” when he played for us. They know who they are, funny old game eh, even by resident experts standards. 😂😂😂

As long as it’s not with us, some people have very short memories, he’s had his chance here, move on.

June 5, 2021 at 9:20 pm #208045It won’t be with us Cass because he will cost more than a bag of toffee.

Cliff, I would have looked a right twat going up to him at a Speedway Meeting and telling him that I would not be going to see his football team next season don’t you agree, some of us can control what we say, and I am certainly not the only supporter to say a few times that I have finished going to GP till things change, so a bit bloody stupid for you to come out with that childish statement.

June 5, 2021 at 10:23 pm #208048There is no point telling Swann or Cox to their face because they don’t listen.
With Kyle Wootton I called the decision to sell him stupid. I said why but even then Kyle was a better player than the 2 recent recruits Loft & Thuran. Certainly hope Notts County get back in the league.

June 6, 2021 at 9:40 am #208049There are several reasons why he’s performed better at Notts, not all of them are to do with Kyle himself.
June 6, 2021 at 12:04 pm #208055Based on yesterday the thing he has added is a bit of bite. He was a handful for the defenders the whole game and whilst he didn’t exactly bully the centre backs he certainly held his ground.
Even got involved in a bit of low level “afters” which I like to see from a centre forward.
June 6, 2021 at 2:57 pm #208058Some player this Rhys Oates for Hartlepool.
June 6, 2021 at 3:23 pm #208059As good as Bob?
June 6, 2021 at 3:47 pm #208060Would love us to sign Oates, but probably be on more at Hartlepool, but all the Hartlepool team looks better than we had last season both tactically and ability, I love to see Scunthorpe play attacking football but that hasn’t happened very often since 3 months before Alexander left.

June 6, 2021 at 3:59 pm #208061That James Alabi knows where the goal is!
June 6, 2021 at 4:00 pm #208062Oates looks good but he is playing up against Webster who made a few forwards look good during his time here.
Certainly not as good as Bob NI.

June 6, 2021 at 4:58 pm #208063Be interesting to know what type of wage a player likes Oates commands in the National league, although I expect it will now beyond our means.
Nicky featherstone looked a tidy player too

Not true, Webster came on in the second half when it was 3-0, so Oates didn’t score against him.
June 6, 2021 at 6:48 pm #208065Poetic licence Mick.

Nicky featherstone looked a tidy player tooIf we can’t compete with Hartlepool wages then we are in BIG trouble.
(Unless Jeff is subbing them of course!!)June 6, 2021 at 8:16 pm #208067I said last week Wootton has various scouts watching him…he won’t be in non league for long.
June 6, 2021 at 9:05 pm #208070“Loft was one of our more effective players last season”
Really? Let’s hope you aren’t writing the same at the end of next season!
June 6, 2021 at 9:48 pm #208072I think it’s a typo. He meant effete!
June 7, 2021 at 4:32 am #208074Belper boss delighted to land ‘obscene’ striker Jonny Margetts
Oodles of goals all over non-league. Only allowed 2 appearances for us. Quite possibly not good enough at league level – but how would we know?
June 7, 2021 at 7:44 am #208076You will notice Heath I didn’t say Loft was a good player.
Shows how poor we were that he was top scorer and our main hope of a goal except in the handful of games that Eisa bothered his arse.

Featherstone always was a tidy player, did the basic work that many are unable to do. Put stability in the midfield.
