Watson will only be understudy surely. Even Swanster sanctioned a move for Howard after 7 games as mentioned above.

Even he grasped he wasn’t good enough. Took him a season too long to realise but he got there in the end.

Not quite NI the manager only saw what we knew already, don’t forget he hadn’t seen him play,to me that was the only positive thing that Cox did all season, binning Watson.

    NI mentioned ‘balance’.
Now that is something that has been lacking at the start of quite a number of recent seasons.
You do really have to feel that the later it gets in the close season – the poorer the signings are going to be. History certainly suggests that.

Offer me six decent/semi-decent signings in the coming days – I’d take that over having 9 longshots a month or more from now.
But OOC players can still perhaps be used. If they are still unemployed in September – there are always some bargains to be had at rock bottom wages.

Which begs the question, why did we not offer Karacan a contract?

Unless we did but he wanted to get on “the last helicopter out of Saigon”!

None of ours will get a hero’s welcome either when they trot out in August.

Well half the week gone and the anticipated excitement is very much on hold. Will we have any new faces in by the end of May never mind the whole squad? Surely the Chairman hasn’t filled us full of false hope has he? Telling us that 3 or 4 signings are close would be something to look forward to – but would it be true?

Not often will you see me type this…the online rag has nailed it spot on.

“The last two times we finished so close to propping up the fourth tier, (1981/82 and 2003/04), we followed both campaigns up with spectacular promotions. If anybody thinks we’re about to make it three in a row – I’ve got some magic beans to flog you.”

    From the ST:-
“The 32-year-old though rejected a new deal with the club, and it seems he isn’t short of offers heading into the summer.”

Don’t you think NI already knows that Cass, the narrative is we don’t know if any of them had a contract offer, keep to script.

Last working day in May – salivating at the prospect of a tsunami of players coming into the building.

The whole idea was getting them in so we didn’t have our pre-season in the actual season – which is what the useless one kept banging on about, that and Covid.

Yes it looks like 3 options now.
    1. Exciting day ahead.
    2. Club statement explaining the change of plan
    3. Nowt.
Anybody want to run a book?

He’ll be on a two week holiday somewhere, then he’ll have to quarantine for a fortnight afterwards. So it’ll probably be July.

And if it’s a family holiday then the whole of the recruitment committee will be there.

The tumbleweed will be blowing around the SVS for a few weeks yet.

    LOANS.
Oh. That really scares me. The club needs a whole new way of seeking out loan signings – only two real good uns in five years!

On that thought, we appear to have missed out on Cordner. Sarfend got in there first. I am gutted.

I think you’ve missed a few les, that or your standards are higher than mine. Toney, Yates, Lolley & Crookes impressed me and are performing at a higher level now. They are, however, well outnumbered by the duds, can’t think of any of them that have shown any improvement on their form with us.

Yates is the gold standard and Gabriel was also very good. Maybe we should see what Forest have got?

Lincoln City’s chief scout/director of football at the start of last year delivered PowerPoint presentations to 10/15 premier league and championship clubs with highly rated youngsters in order to establish a relationship and convince them that Lincoln was the place for their youngsters, aswell as providing an overview of the club/city/fans.

I dread to think what our set up is.

With just a day-and-a-half to go until the end of May I expect it must be very busy at the Sands Siro Stadium. I have no doubt that the Chairman will be true to his word, and will soon unveil a plethora of signings over the next 35 hours.

Note to Self: I must stop drinking booze at 8AM!

Are you still going on about the end of May deadline? Cox said it won’t happen, he’s the boss.

What happened to those signings that a certain Mr Swann promised? Surely he didn’t make a promise and fail to deliver? That is so unlike him,
