Good start to the game. Nigeria look dangerous. Hit the bar already. Should be a good battle.
August 7, 2023 at 9:36 am #268649Typical underwhelming England so far. I don’t know why the penalty was overturned, though it was soft. Still, the VAR decisions against China were dafter.
August 7, 2023 at 10:12 am #268650Second best in this game
August 7, 2023 at 10:16 am #268651Lauren James with a Beckhan 98 moment of idiocy. She’s been rubbish this game as well.
August 7, 2023 at 10:17 am #268652No excuses.no need
August 7, 2023 at 11:23 am #268654At least the women can handle the pressure of penalties. Fortunate after that performance though.
August 7, 2023 at 12:22 pm #268656England second best throughout which is disappointing after they overwhelmed China in the last game. Nigeria very powerful all over the pitch but their big game inexperience let them down particularly at the shoot out. Lauren James bang out of order and desrevedly sent off, hero to zero in ninety minutes, thats footy for ya.
August 7, 2023 at 12:47 pm #268660Nigeria should have had a penalty second half .England did not deserve to win
August 7, 2023 at 1:09 pm #268662Nigeria will be kicking themselves not winning that. Some awful pens from them though. England’s were solid, apart from the first skyer!
August 7, 2023 at 3:29 pm #268671Watched it live in Hooters the scenery made up for a really dire game, safely back home now
England were crap and very lucky to win.
August 8, 2023 at 9:47 am #268743Ego’s are so evident. Would do better if they concentrated on the basics and at their level they are poor.
Too much tip-tap you to me to you to me. Predictable plan and what is this ‘I hope my ponytail is ok’ after everything ! Several years ago the Australians asked to play an under 16 boys team – stopped at halftime as the only time the women got the ball was for kick-offs !!
Personally I think an U11’s academy team would be too big a challenge for ours !
August 8, 2023 at 10:02 am #268744You are a sexist Sanfran. Also, they would give our current side a run for their money.

August 12, 2023 at 1:35 pm #269167A better performance, especially in the second half until they tired. Still, a finely poised game and it could have gone either way. It just shows how the quality has improved in the women’s game. There are fewer easy games now.
August 12, 2023 at 2:25 pm #269168Today against Colombia was a real physical battle and England gave as good as they got, good game to watch and I’m pleased the Lioness’s stood up to the challenge. Great finish by Russo, bring on the Aussies.
