If he wins on Sunday NI, if not sack him, sitting back and trying (and succeeding) to hold on to a lead, remind you of any team?, Quite happy to win on Sunday by any means nothing else will do for me, no, didn’t they do well, they did us proud bollocks, now is payback time for all the support we have given down the years, all the leau days, swapped shifts, and the early mornings when in Japan, they are playing well and getting the luck for once here’s hoping.

Has anyone mentioned the very soft penalty decision? Probably not a pen IMO but I’ve seen enough of those go against Scunny and England I’m not going to lose any sleep over it, particularly as the better side won.

It was a soft penalty but their goal wasn’t a free kick. Swings and roundabouts.

Their free kick was justified for me. However, I think Kane should have had a pen

It was never an issue as Kane was rightly penalised for a foul on their player before the incident in the box.

Why on Earth would anyone on here sign that? Where has the indication been that anyone would? Everyone on here has shown their joy in us winning. But, I guess the straw man that those not right wing enough have to ‘hate this country’ must stick for some.

In my honest opinion, many on this board are more interested in ROI than England. I can imagine such types taking a sly dig and secretively signing that petition.

Southgate should be sacked for politicising football, for supporting a racist and Marxist organisation and truly despising this country! Wokeness should be kept separate from football! Bring in someone who will truly love this country and not stand for this woke bullshit like Sean Dyche, Neil Warnock or Chris Wilder!

So you don’t think the long suffering fans deserve to see England lift the trophy, know more people who stop bothering with England, than have stopped watching scunny, me included, how you can say I am a phoney fan when I support scunny is beyond me, so yes it is all about me (us), just like you think scunny fans deserve better than has been on offer in recent season’s, but a least we have had a reasonable amount of success down the years unlike england, to think I supported Rooney and the likes when he they couldn’t be arsed and brought nothing to the table, at least this team isn’t full of prima donnas, and yes I did read the article NI nice to see Southgate bringing all diverse people together, nice to see all the Asians supporting us in the footy but still been able to keep their heritage when it comes to cricket and supporting India and Pakistan just as it should be. (Though some will support England in the cricket as well).

It was more what our dear Prime Minister could learn from it. Particularly the way Southgate speaks.

I said it was a dream final for me personally because since the 1970 World Cup I have followed the Italian National team.

It all came about after that England v Germany quarter final. The ageing World Champions losing in extra time to “Der Bomber” Gerd Muller! We had a dodgy keeper that day too!

In the semi Italy scored early but conceded with the last kick of normal time (shades of 1966). The final score aet Italy 4, West Germany 3! The press called it the game of the century and it was certainly the best game I’d watched (after 1966 of course) and still remember it.

So Italy became my new England. Particularly as the Lions didn’t qualify for another World Cup until 1982, when bizarrely Italy beat West Germany in the final.

I was deprived of the dream final in 1990 when we lost “that” penalty shootout, and somehow the Argentinians defeated Italy, Baggio, Schillaci et al!

So I’ve waited for this for 31 years (if not 51)!

Who do I want to win?

England of course! Italy have had numerous moments in the sun over the last 55 years, we desperately need something to rejoice about given the crap we’ve had to put up with over the past decade plus!

Just hope it’s a great advert for football.

There we have it! Forum 6 libtard NI admits to supporting Italy! He claims to want England to win, but almost certainly would prefer Italy to avoid scrutiny! Not surprising given how he has shown his sheer hatred for this country on non-football previously!

This may be of interest to someone. A friend of mine has 2 tickets for the Final at Wembley on Sunday.

He paid £300 each including accommodation but he didn’t realise when he bought them that it was going to be the same day as his wedding!

If you are interested, he is looking for someone to take his place!!

It’s at Central London Registry Office, at 4pm. The bride’s name is Lisa.

Yep a poor England shoot out, Pickford was brilliant and deserved better from his team mates taking pens. Felt sorry for Saka and Sancho who were let down by senior players not taking pens in front of them, as for Rashford it was a poor pen from someone like him. Italy were the best team on the night and deserved their win so 👏👏👏 to them. This England team will get better and better, World Cup semi finalists and Euro finalists in three years is a good template for the future and Southgate is a good manager, he’s got England playing as a team not a bunch of individuals like in the Beckham/ Gerrard/ Lampard era. Keep going Gareth, you will get there.

I’m talking about sending out a team to manage a 1-0 lead for the whole of the second half. Then not realising it’s not working and not making substitutions that obviously needed making after 55 minutes.

Talking about leaving Mason Mount on the pitch for 100 minutes when he is doing nothing positive. Nothing against Mount, he is a fine player but not tonight.

Talking about sending 2 young players on with a minute to go and asking them to take penalties inhe nations biggest game in 55 years. After 4 weeks of telling them a 19 year old that’s done jack shit in a poor team is better than them.

Talking about letting 2 middle aged central defenders wish they had brought their pipes and slippers.

Never watched a tournament in my 67 years where England have had the best 26 players but we did this time.

    Lovely man, Shite coach.

    Am I being harsh?

    Mostly agree, MK.

As Roy Keane said, it was a mistake to bring on Saka, a child of 19, to take the last pen in extra time of a cup final. Older, senior players should have stood up and stood in.

The Germans know how to do it. They practise taking pens over and over in training, and know just where they’ll put the ball, no matter who’s in goal. Well before the game they decide who the takers are, and in what order they’ll do it. That way, they minimise nerves because they know exactly what they have to do. When will England learn this simple lesson?

Thought Russ Wilcox was manager yesterday with our defensive mindset from the 3rd minute onwards. That second half was shambolic in how deep we were sitting.

It’s all very well and good being pragmatic, but if you’re not going to win with it people will start asking questions as to what could have been if we utilised our forwards more. We have attacking talent, Sancho and Grealish have been underutilised all tournament, but we can’t get anything out of them by having 7 defensively minded players on the pitch who don’t have the creativity or link-up needed.

Same mistake as Croatia in 2018. I would say I hope Southgate learns, but his lesson from 2018 was to double down on the caution which cost us that game.

This is not meant to be an attack on Southgate. He’s shown he’s a great man manager and has taken us further than before. We will now be one of the top sides in Europe on paper and seen as such. Good. However, he is flawed.

Said it before, got shouted down snd abused.
    Vindicated again.
We finally came up against a side that could play, and were made to look silly.
Telling statistic: Italy completed 530+ passes in normal time, England completed 220.
Again: Kane goes down too easily but last nights ref knew it.
Sterling tried the same thing and got the same result. He’s also quite greedy.
As for Vanilla Southgate, substitutions too late and like for like.
    Too defensive.
Is he Wilcox in disguise? Because he’s definitely boring.

110 minutes of Coxesque/Wilcoxesque football got what it deserved. Hoping Southgate & Cox learn from this, a great opportunity missed. Penalty organisation was a complete shambles especially as we knew it was a strong possibility. 2 played 120+ minutes and scored, 2 played 5 minutes and missed and a 19 y.o. in his first major tornament!!!! Unbelievable Jeff! Winning a penalty shootout with 3 just shouldn’t happen, Pickford deserved better.

England will get nowhere too frightened to attack unlike Denmark.

    Gareth thought otherwise!

A touch of premature adulation there Bobby! You can get medication for it.

Southgate got a lot right in the run up to the final, but made a bit of an arse of it last night.

Mind you he was up against Mancini who has an impeccable pedigree at National and Club level. Changing it to nullify England’s wing backs was genius. Kane forced to come deep, Sterling and Sako getting the treatment from the Italian defenders (who all took “one for the team”).

Poor substitutions. Not his night I’m afraid and, I’m still not seeing anything of that “young attacking talent”!

We’d have to use the attacking talent to see it. Unfortunately they’re stunted by 7 defensive players with no outlet and creativity. Our most creative players benched for anonymous Mount.

But when they come on they spend most of the time on the ground.

    Fouled, dived, out-muscled? You decide.

Sako could be emotionally damaged by this. I hope he’s strong enough to bounce back.

Is Grealish as good as we think at International level?
