Still a boring watch. Switched over to watch the Scots.
    Nice goal by Modric.

England will get nowhere too frightened to attack unlike Denmark.
    Southgate reminds me of Knill

Indeed. I can’t see us beating France, Germany or Portugal, so this pragmatic approach to get us far will likely achieve little and we won’t have any enjoyment out of it. If we do lose in the second round questions have to be asked, but with the likes of Neville as pundit we will just get them sticking up for a mate.

Best display out of the three ( know it’s not saying much but… ) thought Saka played well and Grealish must start every game if fit, he’s the one player who can deliver that bit of unexpected magic all teams need. The facts look better then what we’ve seen, played 3 won 2 drawn 1 points 7, 2 goals scored, none conceded. Bet ” passionate, brave Scotland ” would have settled for that. We do get fed some shite about the Scots in the media, they weren’t bloody good enough and 5 goals conceded, 1 scored and 1 point from 9 tells us all that. Get over yourselves Jocks and close the door on your way OUT.

Saka and Grealish have to start. The only 2 prepared to make runs and not side and back pass, apart from Walker and Maguire, who both impressed. It will be interesting to see how they fare against one of the bigger sides. I wouldn’t write them off. Counter attacking more would suit the team out there last night.

Greece, Denmark, Germany and even France have won tournaments with defensive mindsets. That’s the plan, but I don’t see it working. We are still giving chances that the better teams will take.

As for the Scots, you are forgetting that they scored a goal. They will be celebrating for the next 50 years or more. McGregor will join those other national heroes (losers) like Gemmill and Narey.

Burley 23 years ago the last Scottish goal in a tournament?

    Ha,ha! Indeed.

A bit like “Braveheart” which was a load of old guff too!

Concerned that Kane looks leggy and Rashford doesn’t seem any better. Bet Southgate is ruing the decision not to include Ollie Watkins or Patrick Bamford.

I thought Kane was more involved in the first half when the other 3 were running at pace beyond him. Simple theory, get to the byline at pace and deliver a great cross. Has worked for decades and Grealish did it.

Southgate shouldn’t be scared of not playing a main striker especially if the plan is to defend well and counter attack at pace.

Some of Kane’s best play this season has been excellent balls from the number 10 position through to Son. He’ll also quite likely have 2 defenders on him too. My worst fear is Southgate sticking Foden out on the right wing again.

I can’t wait to be at the local next Tuesday to watch us play the enemy! No doubt the woke snowflakes will be crying over banter aimed at the Krauts! The same cowards who would have hidden away in the war where it really mattered!

If England beat Germany, they’ve basically got a bye to the final. And this Germany side is very beatable.

Big Joke won’t have talking bollocks, not since his operation anyway. I’m guessing he/she will be a size 18 now.

Slightly demeaning to other sides. Unless you were joking?

England are in the right side of the draw now so I take Ferrites point, maybe not a bye if we beat Germany but apart from Denmark who could come unstuck against Wales the others aren’t anything to write home about. Tournament football is notoriously unpredictable however, watch out for Sweden. 😲

I’m not sure mine was the most demeaning statement to other sides on this thread but I’ll accept the criticism!

But let’s be right, England have a talented squad and have yet to concede a goal. Germany will be a real test but get past them and I really can’t see any of the other sides in that half of the draw, with the possible exception of the Dutch, stopped them from reaching the final.

That’s not to say there aren’t some good sides, Sweden are under-rated and the winner of Wales v. Denmark could easily make the semis, but England or Germany would be very short odds with the bookmakers to make the final and for good reason.

But compare it to Belgium or Portugal who, after winning that tough match, will probably then have to play Italy, followed by France or Spain!

Good win tonight, Rome next against the yellow and blues, both are awkward teams especially the Swedes.

Apart from the performance against a poor Scottish side which was just unacceptable, England have improved their performance in the last two games and that’s all that counts. This is tournament football, you don’t win after one, two or four games you win it after seven and England are improving and getting more confident as a result. Still no goals conceded and now the main striker has finally contributed, if this was a German, French or Italian team people would be saying ” you can see them growing into the tournament game by game, they look a threat “. England are in the right side of the draw to go all the way and they are a threat to any team left in this tournament, no it’s not champagne Brazil type football, it never is with England but it’s winning football based on strength and team work. Other teams will fear playing England now after their management of today’s win over Germany. Nice one guys. 👏👏👏

I was disappointed Kane scored, I was quite enjoying the idea of getting all the way to the final with only goals from Sterling!

The moaners, groaners and Southgate slaggers look really silly tonight, England have grown into this tournament at the right pace and are now building up a real head of steam at just the right time. Great team performance, scored the goals that mattered at the right time in each half then managed the game brilliantly and professionally, well played guys. COME ON ENGLAND.👏👏👏

Certainly grown into the tournament, the difference tonight compared to the Scotland game was remarkable.

The Danes are playing on pure adrenaline, spurred on by the awful incident with Eriksen in the first game. So will be no pushover, but I’d love to see an England v Italy final.

Southgate got that totally wrong in the second half – far too attacking minded and an FA yes man. 😂

Ready and willing to eat humble pie regarding Southgate as a coach but going to just hold fire until he beats a good team (or two).

Some people still wouldn’t be happy if he won the Euro’s and the World Cup. They’ve made up their minds about him along time ago and that’s that.
