Watching Look North news, they did an item on Eid (end of ramadan). They were chatting with ABO EISA and underneath it said ABO EISA – former Scunthorpe United striker !

So looks like self announcement the thing of the moment – Mark Howard first and now ABO>

Our club is run so unprofessionally now. It proves yet again Swann has no idea on how to run a professional football club.

About 7 minutes in. Look North breaking the release list now, different.

Thought I had put the link in there but doesn’t seem to have worked, guessing Abo must have told Look North, and they didn’t clear with the club if it was public knowledge yet. Not very professional all round tbh.

Was listening to one of the Humberside commentary ‘s early in the new year I believe and Eisa was doing the summary, he virtually said then that he wouldn’t be renewing his contract, it’s no surprise he’s gone TBH.

I think a lot of Iron fans under-rated Eisa, he had a pretty good goalscoring record and scored some special goals & some important ones too.

But at Scunthorpe we seem to only like a player who runs about a lot. The louche brilliance of an Eisa, a van Veen or a Paul Hayes doesn’t seem to cut it with the Glanford Park crowd.

I know I’d sooner watch Eisa than Paddy Madden most weeks though.

Yes he is a very good player but he has a bad attitude,he did not want to play for us.I suspect that any clubs looking to sign him will take this into consideration,it will not be as easy to find a new club and he will not get the package he would like.

I’m curious, what evidence do you actually have for this?

My gripe with Eisa was principally his advanced failings in the ‘tackling back department’ – he certainly bugged Newey.

At least Hippo makes an effort. Incidentally, I do not see the guy as being as awful as some make out. I’d give him 5.5 for last season – except the bits when played at LB.
In a better team, I feel we may well get more out of the lad. And let’s be optimistic that a new set of players must SURELY have better attitudes than those recently witnessed.
(Skills? – Well, that would indeed be a bonus.)

Aye, Newey seems to be from the hard work school. Fair enough, that’s clearly how we made a career, I can see why he might resent players to whom everything comes naturally.

Isn’t that what we were saying about last summer’s signings after “sleepwalking to relegation” from L1 and another pitiful campaign in L2?

What makes you think the new faces won’t be sucked into the vortex of mediocrity?

I’m a glass-half-empty person trying desperately to show a little optimism.
