Five wins and a draw from their last six games – 7 scored, 1 conceded.
Tuesday 21st Feb they won 3-1 at Maidstone.
Oh dear. Looks like they’ve run in to a good patch of form.
Sorry guys.

March 2, 2023 at 9:42 am #256464Running out of games now to prevent our free fall. I can see ahead a miserable day in Dorking for both teams involved. Stockport have shown it’s not impossible to return from the abyss but I wonder if I’m still around to see us do it !
‘Oh for Norwich away on a Wed night’ happy days ! UTIMarch 2, 2023 at 10:10 am #256465Tough game this one, maybe freshen up the midfield some fatigue showing there, play a winger who can swap sides during a game and provide crosses to the big centre forward in the box. No points gained if the big lads job is just to win headers on the half way line.
March 2, 2023 at 11:16 am #256468Stockport are a good case in point. It can be done, just hope they’re not running up a huge debt though I think they are if memory serves. One of the things I like about Hilton is his vision to get get back to league status sustainably.
March 2, 2023 at 11:40 am #256471Stockport must be spending a hell of a lot of money when you look at the players they have signed in recent years – feels very similar to the Wrexham model of seemingly offering players over-the-odds wages to drop out of the Football League.

On what we’ve seen so far it doesn’t seem that “giving it a go” is really Dean’s style. I hope he sticks 2 up front though from now on.
March 2, 2023 at 2:06 pm #256485Based on the Bennett signing, how about this for Saturday?
Chapman
Smith, Boyce, R-E
Ogle Feeney Shields Leake
Gerry, Elliott, Bennett
Give up the CMF, lump it forward, Feeney & Shields provide the crosses, Ogle & Leake with the long throws. 5 big lads in the box for all dead ball delivery, no mucking about.1 user thanked author for this post.
March 2, 2023 at 2:14 pm #256486No place fo any of our 10 midfielders then Cass?
March 2, 2023 at 3:11 pm #256489Not working, thought I’d try the other extreme.

March 4, 2023 at 1:02 pm #256557He’ll play one up top and state this result won’t define our season…..
March 4, 2023 at 1:40 pm #256558Minimum 4 points from these 2 games at home or the games up.
March 4, 2023 at 2:44 pm #256560He’ll play one up top and state this result won’t define our season…..
Well it looks like a standard 4-4-2 with a strong (if they play to their potential) midfield a two up top.
Virtually a completely different team from a month ago. Too many changes perhaps?

March 4, 2023 at 4:38 pm #256564You don’t have to sound so happy about it.
March 4, 2023 at 5:03 pm #256565Harsh penalty.
Not well managed today.
(Why does Neil put the mic in his mouth then shout down it?)March 4, 2023 at 5:10 pm #256568Absolutely garbage today. And when Eastleigh get a corner to not leave anyone up in a must win game was criminal especially against 10 men.

March 4, 2023 at 6:01 pm #256573So Eastleigh have done the double on us. When oh when will we stop stooping to new lows?

Get used to it. Even more to come next season

Doesn’t sound any worse then Barry Fry or even Harry Redknapp IMO and they both did ok in management. Look the guy is still finding his feet and isn’t always making the right call on team shape and correct selections but give him a bloody chance. As for how he speaks to players, it’s football FFS not a posh girls finishing school, get a grip.

March 4, 2023 at 6:50 pm #256580Don’t know where to start after that, Absolutely dire from start to finish.
The players had no idea what to do today other than play 10 yard passes across the backline. No wingers eventhough the game was crying out for them and no sense of urgency at all to create anything. We are virtually relegated after the last 3 games and we still have 4 players defending against a lone striker when the opposition had 10 men.
Additionally 11 men in the box defending a corner and the crowd having to tell the manager to leave one up front? Cmon FFS this is basics we are talking about.
Really pissed off with that today; I had no expectations of survival when we were taken over and came to terms with relegation a long time ago. But, today was not acceptable.
March 4, 2023 at 7:04 pm #256583Brought far to many new players in, wouldn’t mind if they were all going to be here next season but there not just ruined whatever team we had, piss poor today against a poor side though they did have good game management in the second half which the ref let them get away with so much time wasting but fair play to them for exploiting it.
March 4, 2023 at 7:13 pm #256585Hard to take today, penalty would have been ruled out with VAR, he had his hands down his side, I think they only had one other effort and the keeper saved it with his foot, but we had no ambition until the last few minutes and that was against 10 men, but all this going backwards and inter passing at the back when we are behind must have wasted 20 minutes, apart from the last few minutes we didn’t look as if we would score, no tempo and little fight, very disappointing and a relegation certainty now.

Prediction – NLN … mid table, at best.March 4, 2023 at 8:13 pm #256589Two poor teams and Eastleigh are hoping for promotion so it does seem that there is little difference between the near top and bottom??
March 4, 2023 at 8:31 pm #256593Look the guy is still finding his feet
Still finding his feet, yes but that’s no excuse for having zero tactical nous. Dean’s decision making is effing woeful. I don’t know whether the pressure is that great of losing that it’s blinded him but whatever the reason he’s absolutely dire.
Put it this way, Nelson was working with a patched up team on bare bones and had us playing really good football, if you compare that to what Dean is doing with a much bigger squad, I don’t think on this evidence he’s even fit enough to kiss the soles of Nelson’s shoes.
Getting bedding is one thing but to not recognise when your team is struggling and not being able to read the game sufficiently to spot what to alter, is another thing all together. Everybody and I mean everybody today knew we needed width and yet Dean was completely blind to it.
In general his subs just don’t make sense. That’s not a bedding in problem, that’s a lack of tactical nous. Whatever he was doing was working the level he was at but not sure he’s got it to even manage this high up.
Bennett looked really capable player at 6ft 4 and yet we had no width and got no crosses in the box for him.
What was Dean actually even trying to do ?
March 4, 2023 at 10:05 pm #256598Part time next season?
Prediction – NLN … mid table, at best.I can’t see us going part time, I might be wrong but can’t see it there will be at least one other full time club in there,
it certainly won’t be easy but we still have a club which we were unsure of in January! have a clear out and a rebuild in the summer and a decent pre season unlike the last few years scrambling around in the last week before the season starts picking up the dregs from the bottom of the barrel and we will win more than we will lose.UTI
