The Iron have made a bid for Kevin van Veen.
The club is a 3rd tier in England, so if this is the transfer he’s dreamed about…
“Not my dream transfer, but beter than I have ever thought about. 3 Years ago I was only playing Hoofdklasse (4th level in the Netherlands) with Dijkse Boys (a lot can be told about that club, most not very good stories…) and now my name is chanted all over. It’s very nice to be part of this.
There are rumours of FC Oss wanting €375000 for the striker, but director Peter Bijveld denies this.
“It’s not true, and I do not know where the (rumours) are coming from. I’m not going to say more about it, because that will not be correct. We are negotiating now, but it may be clear that it won’t be a low price. We still have a 1 1/2 year contract running, and very glad with Kevin, so there is a certain amount of money with that.
According to Bijveld , negotiations are very premature. Van Veen has been watching around at Scunthorpe in England. He was designed a future plan.
“Planning is to sign for 3 years (2 1/2 in this winter period) and being followed by bigger clubs, to see how I perform in L1. Then they try to sell me for a couple of millions, that is their planning. If it will happen, I don.t know, but that’s how it was explained to me.
Scunthorpe are hoping that the 23 year old striker will bring them millions, but the transfer is not certain yet. Van Veen himself wants to await interest of Dutch clubs.
“Yes, that’s my vision. If England falls through I hope I can make myself known in The Netherlands.
I’m open for both options, everything is okay or me.
Anyway, there is a big chance for FC Oss to have to say goodbye to their player in this transfer period.
“That’s something you have to take into account. We think we have a decent squad, but then we will miss our goalgetter. If this will happen in the winter period it will be difficult for us because we don’t have a 2nd Kevin in our squad. Many talents, but no second Kevin, so except for the money it will be difficult to find a new player in this winter period. It brings us a certain brainwork
It seldom happens that there are bids for FC Oss-players. It’s happened only once to Ferhad Gorgulu in 2013.

Wharton selling players ruined this club.
    Swann selling players is ambition.

    Know your scapegoat.

Can look the biz but may not be it – cast you mind back
to Bobby Grant. Would not listen carried on his path and
back in div 2 drifting from club to club.

Any signing can be a gamble, perhaps KVV is the right one
judging by the our Robins signings so far high hopes.

I am still not convinced Kevin van Veen will be the solution up front, bring more than for example Paddy Madden and is worth spending money on.
If he comes, hopefully he will prove me wrong and take us to the higher level Swann wants us to go.

Mr Swann says we have not made an offer for KVV.

And the article reads like we will not.

These comments from Mr Swan are a “Ploy” to bring the value back down again ! As in the next paragraph he goes on to compliment the player thus not undermining him !
As I said earlier “the politics of the English transfer system”
