my crystal ball is away at the repair shop .. but suppose a lot it depends on ones age.

Im 60 next bday so going on my prediction below the jury is still out.

3-5 years to get out of the NLN
    Then
5-10 years to get out the NL at the right end and back into the EFL.

Thats a min of 8 max of 15 years could well be pushing up daisies by then.

    Yes! And I’m 71.

Just need the right people in. Look at Stockport County.

(I could have said “and Wrexham” but their circumstances are rather different)

Till that rich man at Stockport came in they were languishing.
Lets find that rich man who’ll invest in the team.

Despite the team getting a bit sloppy yesterday after the substitutions I still think we will go up this season.

Two more seasons to get out of the National League if we can keep the level of support up.

Hoping to live at least that long.

I’ll Be shocked if we are in the EFL before the end of the decade. Inevitably we will be out of this league sooner rather than later by strength of budget alone. The real test will be competing on a shoestring alongside the likes of Oldham etc.

The National League is essentially League 3/Division 4 now and it will be very difficult to leave unless we receive external investment or they increase the promotion places.

In the meantime, The board are doing everything right thus far by excelling on the commercial side and doing their best to encourage people down to GP.

If Oldham and Southend could manage to get themselves promoted this season and we can do the magic double (clear debts and win promotion) then we would be financially competitive with most.

Not really, Stockport have thrown almost as much money as Wrexham at the problem.

I’m not really bothered if we do or we don’t, to be fair.

Would be nice if local owners returned the club back to the football league but I think the long term effects created by Swann then Hilton will make it a long haul. When the debt is finally cleared and hopefully sometime this season the club will have to maintain a sustainable business model to secure the clubs long term future and this will mean small playing squads and lower wage structures but hopefully our above average crowds for this current division we are in will sustain and this will enable us to remain extremely competitive in this division and the one above. I’m 69 and don’t envisage me ever again seeing league football at the Attis Arena and I’m really not that fussed about it as long as the club is still here for future generations of fans in our town, then hopefully they will once again Scunthorpe United return to the football league. I did see us play league football for 58 seasons from 1964 to 1922 so I guess I can’t complain because it was a wonderful time to be an Iron fan and I still very much enjoy watching the team today, so all good from me.

It’s a business with virtually the same personal as when Swanny was here surely the only thing wrong at that time wasn’t Swann being in charge himself but none of his staff, the business model seems to be get as many non playing staff back on the books as possible, most of expected and wanted a slim down of non playing staff ( Hilton did make progress) in this Micky mouse league, 4 in the shop and ticket office 5 days a week farcical when most stuff can be done online.
A catering manager and chef no less yes in National league north evidently the catering manager did really well at Hull KR,what’s he doing here has anyone seen any improvements, I haven’t seen or heard.
The business needs to be about the football but seems lacking at the moment imo.
