Very unprofessional to announce his exit on Facebook.
    We are a complete embarrassment.

Where would you have preferred him to announce it?

Maybe he asked the club to announce it on the website and they refused? Nothing has appeared yet, perhaps it’s the ” current regime ” analogy, sounds a bit ” Putinish ” which may be too close to home for comfort. IMO.

It sounds to me that Simon has had enough of the SWANNS and what they have done to our beloved Scunthorpe United. His heart is in the club and like many other supporters including our family have been supporting our Club through family generations. The SWANNS haven’t the slightest idea what our Club means to loyal supporters and our town. They are just fly-by-nights, here today and gone tomorrow and have wrecked the infrastructure of Scunthorpe United and should be booted out. In my opinion it was the worst day in our club’s history when they entered our club and should never be allowed near any other organisation.

Okay. He resigned from the board.
Did he say he was finished with Scunthorpe Utd, though?

For the sake of SUFC I hope you’re onto something Les.

The OWS hasn’t told us that Manny’s gone yet, if Simon hadn’t posted his resignation we still wouldn’t know.

Well IA, I texted someone familiar with boardrooms and similar regarding what had happened and his unprompted response was, “He’ll be part of any consortium, then.”
I interrogated him further last night and he listed a number of interpretations of the actions but said that was the most likely.

I listened to some complex logic which did make sense – but ultimately, it can only be supposition, of course.

My personal view was that Simon had seen that it was all such a dog’s breakfast that a man, known for his effectiveness in high powered roles, had simply escaped from what he may have considered to be a Putinesque situation.

Even so, interestingly, the pair of outlined pieces of creative imagination are not mutually exclusive.

I certainly predict that the chairman and his clan will be trying very hard to rid themselves of this turbulent football club and its grossly unappreciative fans.

Presumably you realise he won’t have resigned via Facebook? He’ll have notified the board of his resignation in the proper way. Facebook is just his way of then notifying the fans which seems perfectly reasonable to me.

He was only a director for 4 month, certainly didn’t give it time to make an impression, was Swanny there on Saturday to fall out with? Can’t imagine he’s seen him many times to fall out. Maybe your right with the Putin analogy Ironawe, you could put Swann, Putin, Isis, and the Taliban together and everyone wants to disassociate from them.

Same old same old people want Swann to act in a correct and proper manner, and yet Simon announce his resignation by social media, bit like being a teenager in the old days a getting your mate to tell your girlfriend she’s being dumped.

Well they were quick enough to announce his arrival Awaywego but maybe les has hit on something about being part of a consortium? We can but hope.

Yes because it’s the proper way to do things Ironawe. And you are always advocating that. Whereas I don’t. Why should Swanny respond when Simon stuck the boot in. The proper way to do it was to just resign and I am sure we could then have drawn our own conclusions to the episode. And not many would have been favourable of Swann.

You’re making a lot of assumptions again awaywego. And this:

‘The proper way to do it was to just resign and I am sure we could then have drawn our own conclusions to the episode’.

He did resign and then announced it on Facebook so that supporters were aware. Good job he did or we’d be none the wiser would we?

Why have you got it in for him anyway? It appears that you’re just knocking all his actions over this one thing when surely the problem is you know who?

To me he’s just acting like the captain of the Concordia. Up till now Swann as acted with dignity and Imo Simon hasn’t, but we all see things differently I suppose.

I don’t get involved in this social media stuff but isn’t the point of it to let your followers know what you’re doing? Left to the club we’d all be in the dark. (As usual!!)

Why should Swanny respond when Simon stuck the boot in.

No part of Simon’s social media post can be described as putting the boot in.

Suggest we wait to find out what triggered the resignation before deciding who the devil is.

I know who my money is on.

If you read the other thread Simon is blaming the regime MK. Like I say Swanny as acted with dignity, the board have accepted Simon’s resignation thanked him for his contribution and wished him well for the future.”That’s the way to do it”.

Club statement just now from Neil, club disagreement with the use of handcuffs and says it won’t happen again, sense prevails. Thank you Neil and other board members.

If the board disapprove of the use of handcuffs being used then why wasn’t this message delivered to the stewards\ security staff before the situation occurred? They should have been aware they were being carried, plenty of supporters knew. Ridiculous situation on Saturday, only Police should be carrying handcuffs as they are the only people who professionally know when to use and also fit them correctly to avoid injury, not sure our shower of green and orange vested stewarding crew can do that. Some of their actions over several years haven’t exactly inspired the home following with confidence in their ability to carry out their duties fairly or professionally. Think the board have only announced this statement because the clamour over Saturday’s events were only going to get louder and more public.

Simon is blaming the regime. Sorry but Simon is not the only one blaming the regime.
    Most of the fans are.
I wish alot of ex managers would speak honesty about the regime.
Not many have come forward. Sorry no one as come forward.

There will be a reason marty303 why ex managers have not spoke about their situation whilst managing the Iron, mostly financial and the clauses that were put in place to secure their final packages upon leaving. Most people will in truth just count their money, say stuff em and move on with their lives and next job. We should always remember we as fans are passionately engaged for life with our football club and what goes on and how it’s run, to most former managers and players it was just another job in their careers, despite what they spout to the website and media whilst they are here.

Maybe theres nothing to say Marty, we should all agree that Swanny gives them every chance to succeed, (except Hurst) they fail and just except there fate with dignity and a pay out.

Back to the thread, surprised no one as come forward to praise Swann on the professional way he and the board handled the situation. We should all be disappointed with Simon Schettino actions maybe he will put a proper statement out in the telegraph for all to read instead of his trumpesque Facebook post.

Just a wind up merchant awaywego, as your last 2 posts demonstrate. They’re not worthy of the time and effort responding to directly. Each to their own eh. Rather mine than yours!
