Denton on crutches and with Corbett limping off, fingers crossed they’re ok in a fee weeks time.

Shocking “tackle” on Denton. Late high and probably a red card.

Not sure why Corbett was sent out second half heavily strapped with the game so obviously won. Looked a poor decision even before the further hamstring tweak.

Kelly a better LB IMO and DSF, McAlinden or Clarke for Corbett. Also have Scales to free Beestin for that position and the mysterious Leesley. No worries.

Have always thought Kelly looks OK but not sure he has shown he is better than Denton. Pretty sure I read somewhere that Kelly has made 6 starts and we have lost 5 of them.

If true then not surprising that Denton gets the nod.

Difficult to judge against such ineffectual opposition but I thought Corbett was comfortably our best attacking player in the first half. Sublime first touch and covers the ground defensively too. Best foil for Whitehall and Roberts since Smith sadly departed.

the 2 injuries were a real dampener on a day when Scunny cruised to win against a very very poor side.

Ive been whinging to give Corbet a start as really rated him and though he was just the kind of player DW needs around him .. why Corbet even came out for the second half is strange and obviously having to play Roberts and Butterfield for the full game was also risky.

Waiting to hear re how serious the injuries to Denton and Corbet are but im guessing both their seasons may be over.

Form has been good in recent weeks but saying that played some really poor sides and with the likes of Brackley, Chorley etc waiting im hoping we can turn up against a much stiffer adversary…we shouldnt forget most of the current top 8 clubs have already beat us this season.

Another great attendance well done to all.

Sounded like precautionary with Corbett (and hopefully Denton). Thought MCalinden did a good job in there.

I’ve rated Corbett since he arrived , very busy and also good cover defensively due to his high work rate .

I really like Sembie Ferris and McAlinden but Corbett looks to be a bit more well rounded. I can see now why Jimmy said that Corbett was similar in playing style to Smith. Corbett looks to be more creative than the two options listed above.

Beestin just coming in to form needs to stay in CM for me.

Kelly is fine on the left side but for pity’s sake, I still have nightmares that we might play him on the right side again.

Incidentally, how good to see Beestin played in CM. It’s clear what we have to do if we want the best out of him.

Agree. Beestin for me has to stay where he is. Played really well on the left tucking in, but to get the best out of him we need him in CM. Starting now to look like the Beestin of old.

Long covid and injuries took a lot out of him, but looks like he’s finally found his feet again.

That’s his next hurdle, getting those flat feet sorted out for next season, I’m guessing some sort of differently constructed inner sole to his boot will be tried out.

I wouldn’t underestimate how much long covid may have had an effect on him. I know a few people still suffering with it and there are some scary stories out there with many in the same boat, and they’re not even sportspeople
