See Hoopers signed for Kettering, must be going soft in my old age I would have gone against my criteria and signed him.
If we don’t gain promotion a good chance we’ll see him next season.October 17, 2024 at 7:47 pm #292060Never fit is he?
October 17, 2024 at 8:01 pm #292064So IF we signed Howe where does Whitehall/Beestin/Carlton fit in?
Provided their fit of course.
October 17, 2024 at 8:28 pm #292065I agree with everything that’s been said on this Forum about this young man, but I’m afraid you have more chance of seeing a pig flying over The Attis Arena than see this young man play there for Scunthorpe United. All the usual excuses for not signing him will be trotted out or there will be complete silence on the matter. An NL or a League 2 club will take a punt and 5 years from now he will be banging them in at a much higher level. And we will be left with what might have beens.
I can envisage Doncaster, Lincoln or Grimsby swooping in for him.
October 18, 2024 at 8:32 am #292068Fox in the box?
If this was Messi or Ronaldo everyone would be raving!

More fox in / out of the box!
Right foot, left foot, head…Let’s have him before someone else realises he’s a natural born goal scorer!

Whom will you champion?
October 18, 2024 at 9:37 am #292073Maybe Trinity’s system suits him, how would he fare in our team with the emphasis on defence?

October 18, 2024 at 9:47 am #292074Time for the employer to have a word with the employee and inform him that we aren’t impressed with his work methods and that we need to be more positive, productive & entertaining?
Time for change! Not manager but ‘systems’1 user thanked author for this post.

October 18, 2024 at 1:10 pm #292080Aye the owners are bound to have a word with AB about his tactics after reading bru,I mean it’s what all club owners should do right? lol.

October 18, 2024 at 1:29 pm #292081Lots of knowledge on here I-a.
(Along with a load of b******s as well of course!)October 18, 2024 at 2:08 pm #292082If we start getting results again, the ‘here we are now, entertain us’ brigade will quieten. Same if Tuchel wins a tournament, regardless of how it’s won. I can understand the need to feel like one’s just watched the non league equivalent of a top premier league side from a younger cohort, but genuinely surprised by this demand to be entertained from older supporters.
October 18, 2024 at 2:14 pm #292083One would hope they would have a word themselves if it’s the same at Chester.
Of course owners shouldn’t take notice of forums shouldn’t even be reading them and they definitely shouldn’t be a participating in them, but we all know Michelle does, well at least tuther side, so she knows the mood music is changing and if it starts to affect the business she should know a reaction will be needed.
She did with Dean got rid with him achieving 2nd in the league so must have been down to tactics, so certainly a word wouldn’t go amiss, won’t be needed I’m sure we’ll turn up tomorrow for a change, but up till then!October 18, 2024 at 2:46 pm #292086Winning games will certainly stop/reduce criticism, if it comes with entertainment then that’s a bonus. What prompts unrest is boring draws against teams we should be beating or, even worse, losing along with the (perceived) lack of effort/interest by some players and finally a complete inability to pass a ball successfully.

Do any fans really think Roberts (and others ) really want to be here for the love of SUFC .555

October 24, 2024 at 6:43 am #292267A fit Carlton (finally) and an improving Fishburn – the dominant CM player is the number one need.

Beestin strengthened the midfield and was that bit of class needed against Rushall and then was stupidly moved back up front bringing Scales in when we know him and Clunan lack the physicality. A more experienced manager would also get a tune out of Brogan too. I know he’s seemingly gone backwards, but you could tell right from the start of the season that there’s definitely a player in there at this level.

Beestin looked good there against Rushall, but then was stupidly moved back up front…even after Fishburn impressed. A more experienced manager would get a tune out of Brogan too. There’s definitely a player in there at this level.

HOWE!
October 27, 2024 at 9:49 pm #292426Maybe Trinity’s system suits him, how would he fare in our team with the emphasis on defence?
I often watch Trinity and this lad plays alone upfront, often creating his own chances prior to finishing them.
He is worth a punt, and we could then play all four centre halves plus two full backs!
October 28, 2024 at 7:50 pm #292472HOWE about that!
Dec scores Gainsborough’s second in their 4-1 win at Clitheroe in the FA Trophy 1st Round.

I think he’ll be playing a few divisions higher shortly. National exposure now.
