With Celtic on the verge of signing young Dawson for a ‘nominal compensation’ fee ,am hopeful this will go toward increasing our meagre player budget for next season.With us reportedly interested in Jack Muldoon who is still under contract,it will take some kind of fee to get it over the line.

Apparently the Prawn is gonna put it all on a racehorse at 150-1, it’s part of his new financial package to get us into the Championship within the next 25 years. If he said it on Humberside somebody would believe him.

We’ll get absolutely naff all and the price will be Peter’s favourite “undisclosed”. I doubt it’ll even go to the PFCC (tribunal) since Celtic’s team would pick us to pieces.

As far as i understand it the tribunal fees are based on a lot of factors including but not limited to:

Club appearances (First team)
International appearances (including youth level)
Current contract terms
Terms offered by new club
Age of player
How long they’ve been at the parent club
“status” of both clubs

So since he’s going to have been on a pittance of a contract here and has only ever made one appearance for the first team totalling a whopping 16 minutes in a cup game, coupled with the fact that Celtic are not a top tier status club i doubt we’d even get six figures.

The only thing that may stand us in good stead is that he’s been with the club since the under-8’s and if we can prove that there were other teams interested in him.

Here’s hoping i’m proved wrong and we get £1million plus a sell on and appearances clause

Just shows the utter utter stupidity and ineptitude of those in charge.

We had a player that a club like celtic are interested in…and he did not feature for us at all.

According to Iron Bru it doesn’t factor in first team appearances – but I doubt this very much. You can’t tell me a youth with 15 first team apps goes for the same as one with one. Any tribunal would consider this a factor

Are we certain that there is any cash at all?
I thought that going to Celtic was classed as going abroad.

I thought the same. As far as I’m aware if kids go to Scotland you get nothing but that might be outdated now.

Looked at some Celtic website which say that a fee is payable. So, dunno.

It’s possible that a fee is payable because he isn’t a full pro and still a youth player, being out of contract but offered a full time deal, or it wouldn’t be fair on small clubs if players are stolen, it will probably only be a few thousand.

Maybe enough to cover his wages over the last two seasons but not much more I’m guessing.
