*Stability
*A good & honest owner
*A winning team on the pitch
*A club we are truly proud of
*Some decent food and drink options at the ground on a match dayGive us that and the majority of fans will be happy.
They’ll be a lot less negativity online (if any at all)
Crowds will pick up and fans will spend more
Over to you Mr Hilton
I really hope you are the saviour we needMy commitment to you… I’ll try and hold back on my negative opinions on the manager and trust in you… Don’t let us (me) down.

April 12, 2023 at 12:38 pm #259831Wanting a lot there SS and all you commit to is “You’ll try” not to be negative wow! Win win there for Hilton I must say.
April 12, 2023 at 1:43 pm #259835After giving Hilton a good kicking verbally on here about several aspects of how he’s doing so far running the Iron, I presume this is SS’s version of an olive branch, Hilton must be beside himself with gratitude.😂

April 12, 2023 at 1:49 pm #259836“A winning team on the pitch”
That’ll be the big ask!
April 12, 2023 at 2:41 pm #259847NI if we can’t put a winning team on the pitch in NLN then we’re totally fooked.
April 12, 2023 at 6:46 pm #259872Yup!
April 13, 2023 at 3:07 am #259879The clock is ticking re GP ownership change , end of next month i believe after which an update from DH with regard to “the plan” going forward both with the club its self ,surrounding land and the 1899 gig would be much appreciated and fans can heave a sigh or relief on that issue.
No more rash decisions followed by U turns.
The retained list will be interesting .. im hoping its very short.
Whatever it takes and with JD or another as manager as we appear to be operating full time confirmed by DH (NO U TURN YET) one would hope we can at least form a team that is competitive and wins its fair share of games thus in and around the right end of NLN ..
JD knows positive results have to come and IMO if after a dozen games we are mid table or lower im sure DH will act accordingly for that reason im predicting a very difficult n mixed first NLN season but so much depends on what players come in and who chooses to sign them.
so in order what do i want just a few of many i could list….
the safety of the club is the first priority, GP ownership sorted
play positive attractive football and win some games that keeps the fan base engaged , i really hope both home and away support continues to be in big numbers it will help the team a lot.
Players with some passion n pride in their profession that care and not just there for the wage
A shiny new local training facility with a self funding academy with all youngsters tagged with sell on clauses.
Good grub on match days
Back in the NL within 2 seasons
Back in L2 within 3 seasons
(yep i know ONLY 5 years in non league is being very optimistic)** Blow away L2 L1 then Championship promotion to the EPL and win the CL final
(sorry on the local moonshine again i am on holiday)NOT TOO MUCH TO ASK IS IT ????
April 13, 2023 at 7:00 am #259880I agree with everything SS24 says other than the winning team on the pitch part. Every football supporter in the land wants that weather you support Man City or Duffs Dynamo’s!
I would settle for a team that competes on the pitch, I don’t support Scunthorpe United expecting to win every game, If i wanted that I would buy a season ticket at The Etihad and watch multi millionaire’s run around and fall over every 5 mins.
I support Scunthorpe United because up until Swann took over I was always entertained when I went to watch Scunthorpe, win lose or draw we always had a team that had a go and that is enough for me, yes I want us to win every game but if I leave the stadium after a defeat or a draw but I have watched every player give their all for the team and have a right go then I leave happy.
To summarise I want to turn up on a Saturday have a couple of pre-match pints while discussing who we think think will be starting and what the score will be with my lad, have some grub and a bovril at half time, spend the second half discussing what I would have done differently had I been the Manager with the regular faces that sit near me. And leave the ground happy that the lads on the pitch gave everything and if at all possible 3 points.
Oh! And a little cup run every couple of seasons would be nice.

April 13, 2023 at 7:50 am #259882This is where the rot has to stop! Sorry but we are now in what could be described as L6. Our football club has been stripped of all assets by a gambling addict former owner. But for gods sake, it’s NLN!!
April 13, 2023 at 8:16 am #259883He sold the club, stadium and land, that’s not asset stripping.
April 13, 2023 at 11:17 am #259892He sold the stadium and land to Coolsilk, his own company. We still have no clue as to when (or if) our new chairman will actually buy it.

Those were the days indeed Pat, will they ever return? Some of us are running out of time.
