Genuinely hope this goes through but still interested to know if he’s done due dilligence yet. We were at this stage before with the local consortium. I know Hilton’s stepped down as Chair at Ilkeston but wouldn’t he need to do that anyway in order to be eligible to bid, given one person can’t own two clubs at once?

I think it’s more likely that Hilton saw Alan Hardy was linked. Hilton saw the picture of Hardy’s todger and subsequently saved us from big and little Al lol

Not sure about that, best off asking SST. Hilton was down at GP Monday moving the deal forward as he met with Swannster.

Lol, the sooner he’s sold up and I stop having to read ‘Swannster’, the better!

Whilst I’m nervous about the motives of someone listed on companies house as a property developer, one of their companies not filed accounts recently and the damage inflicted by a non league chairman with no connection to scunny, he can’t be any worse than Swann!

All I’ve read is good things about him so seems legit. Deerey, you love Swannster.

I also have my concerns about the property developer bit.

Nothing wrong with property developers so long as they are actually good at it.

Might even develop the tin shed a bit if it comes off.

“Personally gutted; had a great team, great plan and great Manager all lined up.”

    Yeah, right!

Aye words are cheap, actions count.

There is a lot of development potential on the site. Property less so with the way the market is going but it’s a huge footprint for a club our size; the east car park is wasted space.

Aslong as the club’s interests are protected, I’ll be behind any development opportunity.

Hopefully this goes though and we can move on personally cannot see us staying up but staying in business is at least a beginning.

Agree , really hope this deal goes through , alas there isnt a quick fix ,with this current player roster cant see us staying up regardless but first priority is for the club to remain in business.

Internet seems to ‘think’ that his current wealth is $1.5M (£1.22M)
It may be more, who knows 🤷‍♂️
Maybe he’s buying the club for a £ and Mr Swann is keeping the stadium, training pitch and land?
    We might find out shortly?
    🤷‍♂️💥🤷‍♂️

No, it’s for the lot. Expected to be completed today according to Ollie Turner. Hilton has somebody else on board, the same bloke he had at his last club.

No doubt will hit the ground running from the 1st minute. Martin Carruthers says he works hard and will expect the same from the staff. I don’t think that will be a problem at GP – they are all claret & blue.

They will thrive on being allowed to do the job and help generate revenue with enlightened leadership that engages with the fans. That on its own will be massive as not happened for 9 years !!

I think he’ll have to be worth more than £1.22m if he’s buying a football club, even if he does have others involved. That will go in no time…

He seems a man of his word reading through all of the things promised when he took over at Ilkeston and what he’s delivered. The club is in a much better state than when he took over there, so that’s all very positive. As others have stated, he will have to be worth more than 1.22m, but he must be worth more than that estimate online as it looks like he has invested around that at Ilkeston alone.

Be great to see at least some of the 1000 Swann stayaways back on Saturday to welcome the new owner.

Very encouraging first interview on Humberside with the new owner.

Measured and understandably a bit cautious which is breath of fresh air after the entitled egocentric bulshit of the last 10 years. Genuinely looking forward to attending a match for the first time in about 5 years.

The link to the interview, I liked one of the comments on twitter “nerves and honesty compared to confidence and lies”

Enjoyed listening to it. Don’t want to hear any more about championship football and 12k stadiums; Work with what you’ve got any get the club operating on a stable footing again. We were pound for pound one of the best ran clubs for over a decade, so the model is there to learn from.

Interesting to note that it sounds like the land isn’t under the clubs name, I’d be intrigued to know what the plans are and how we can benefit from it.

Hilton bought the lot didn’t he, ground, stadium and surrounding land ?

    That’s what he claims anyway.

A new training facility in the offing ?

Also spoke of a number of players coming to give us a chance of staying up. I thought he came across fantastically well.

I may have interpreted it wrong, I got the impression he had bought the lot but the land was under a a different name and the stadium was under the clubs.

The clearest message from that is that he thinks we are very over staffed off the field!

I’ve said that for years. At one point in league 2 when we were relegated our staff number dwarfs this one. If Hilton thinks this one is excessive, god knows what he would have made of our past efforts.

At one point Swann employed a full time biscuit dunker !

If the land was under a different name and he didn’t own it, why did he mention building a training facility on it ?. I’m pretty sure he owns the land as well but you better confirm that with SST.

He didn’t say that, WG, what he said was that any new training facility would not be too far distant (in geographical terms). He didn’t say it would be on the land near the ground.

I said he owns everything; however, the stadium is under Scunthorpe United LTD and the land may be under a different company that Hilton own. A company that will look to develop the land for the club’s benefit as he stated.

Like I said, I may well have interpreted it wrong, but it was something I picked up on.

Great first interview i like the sound of this fella .. it appears SUFC may have been very fortunate landing him.

    points to note.
very level headed guy with experience and i got the impression he wont take anything other than 100% commitment from staff top to bottom

He realizes the club is over staffed

Experienced players coming in to benefit the young lads.

new facilities on or near site

Nelson probably gonna be given a chance to carry on and LT staying possibly , is so hopefully in a different role.

I loved the ” im a council house kid and may find me on the terraces ”

The plan is staying up , there is a plan B .

All in all fantastic to hear what he had to say and stay up go down this man has saved the club which had to be the priority and go back 2 weeks i think any fan would have taken this senario.

I may be on the other side of the world but hope theres a huge loud and supportive turn out later today no more anti Swan chants needed he is history …just a massive thank you and welcome to Mr Hilton.

A trip back is now being planned to take in as many games as poss something i wasnt even considering until recent events.

    UP THE IRON ..
