Anyone going?
Can’t make my mind up whether to get tickets for the away end and get pissing wet through or go through the home turnstiles where I can run to the shelter of the bar!
January 19, 2024 at 5:15 pm #279550No because of an open ended stand, but you get in that home end NI.
January 19, 2024 at 8:32 pm #279569Wouldn’t give it a second thought. Home turnstiles, bar, hands down, everytime
January 20, 2024 at 5:05 am #279579£15 to stand in the open.
£5 to park the car.
£3 program.
Burger & chips £7
Petrol £30
A couple of pre match pints £10Total = £70
NLTV = £10
January 20, 2024 at 9:38 am #279585And there is the reason why 3pm games shouldn’t streamed live.

January 20, 2024 at 10:23 am #279586But it’s OK for the National League?
January 20, 2024 at 12:43 pm #279588Well it shouldn’t be,
January 21, 2024 at 8:33 am #279612For your tenner, you can watch:
Monday – Chelmsford v Welling
Tuesday – 19 games available.
I wonder if you can watch say our game on one device, say ours; and a different game on a second device?
You wouldn’t think so but I’ll try it on Tuesday.January 21, 2024 at 4:56 pm #279627It’s a long time since we chased them out of the home end at the Feethams
January 22, 2024 at 8:45 pm #279665Looking at the weather for tomorrow night I hope Jimmy has had them training with the ball on the deck!
Well done to those who make the trip – for me its National League TV and a pack of Doombar :)
1 – 3 to the Iron.
UTIJanuary 23, 2024 at 3:16 am #279668What about fans that can’t make a game for some reason. Wouldn’t it be better to give those fans access to the game? Isn’t it better to keep fans engaged with the team no matter what? The easier a team is to follow, the easier it is for new fans to find and watch them. But I do understand teams need ticket sales. There’s got to be a better way than a total blackout though. Needs some middle ground. It’s 2024, people are used to watching what they want, whenever they want. It shouldn’t be easier and cheaper for fans to stream the Prem than it is the lower leagues.
January 23, 2024 at 7:20 am #279670Atough away game tonight and looks like gonna be in pretty crappy weather … just listened to JD pre match interview and no Whitehall Butterfield or Law for the game.
Prediction .. i wish i could be more hopeful / positive but Darlo got another new manager and seems we are back in the nak of giving away soft goals
so …
Head says 2-0 Darlo
Heart 2-1 ScunnyJanuary 23, 2024 at 7:47 am #279671I am quite old; struggle to drive at night; can’t cope with cold weather because my Warfarin makes me feel like a block of ice when temperatures are in single figures – and what cold does to my arthritic body is a horror story.
I don’t usually complain.
But, I am Iron to the core and miss far, far too many matches.
Vanarama televised matches keep me in touch.
Incidentally, in my younger days I watched the Iron on 120 different grounds. I reckon that I’ve earned the right to watch as many televised games as is humanly possible.
There are many more from my generation just like me.5 users thanked author for this post.

January 23, 2024 at 8:38 am #2796744 goals from last 10 games.
1 goal from last 6.1 win at home all season.
Joint bottom of the home league table with 10 pts.
The most frequent score at home for them is 1-1 (4 times)
1-1 (4 times)
1-2 (thrice)
0-0 (twice)
0-1 (twice)
2-2 (once)
0-2 (once)
3-1 (once)
1-3 (once)
3-2 (once)They’ve lost 3 on the bounce at home without scoring and have lost the last 2 home games 0-1.
So…
Head: Darlo 0-1 Scunny
Heart: 0-0
Gut: 3-0The gut feeling is because they’ve only won once at home this season, haven’t won by 3-0 yet and haven’t scored at home for 3 games. It’s one of those weird things that you can’t predict and you end up saying “I didn’t see that coming!”
A wet & windy night in Darlo. It’ll be a tough watch.
Hopefully we will secure the three points that we so desperately need!
Fingers crossed that Boston can grab a point at Tamworth.
January 23, 2024 at 8:46 am #279676Match odds:
Darlo: 4/1
Draw: 9/2
Scunny: 14/5Correct score:
0-1… 5/1
1-1… 11/2
0-2… 6/1
1-2… 7/1
0-0… 17/2Bookies seem to think a 0-1 or a 0-2 to us. Happy days!
January 23, 2024 at 9:40 am #279677Was at their only previous home victory this season, 3-2 vs Chester.
However Chester’s bus had a blow-out on the M62 and the team arrived late. Darlo’s opener was a freak goal and they narrowly survived s late onslaught.
So on past form we shouldn’t lose, but as others have said it would be typical of us to give them their second home win.
Smith gone back to Hearts, Whitehall, Butterfield and Law still out.
0-0?
BTW In 53 years of watching the Iron at Darlington I have never seen us win there (Feethams or the Reynolds Arena). Could this be my hat-trick of grounds?
January 23, 2024 at 9:42 am #279678Darlo have been poor all season, but the old cliche “Can they do it on a wet tuesday night” applies to the team and manager.
Being optimistic…0-2

January 23, 2024 at 3:21 pm #279692Law was back last match but again has picked up an injury. I suspect Mr Law may be a bit injury prone. Dean said he was going to change it up so expect Shrimpton in CM for Beestin and Wilson out wide.
Let’s face it we’re not really blessed with choice.
January 23, 2024 at 3:30 pm #279693They’ve raised £30k so far in January.
January 23, 2024 at 3:37 pm #279694Could be a run out for Maxi?
January 23, 2024 at 4:08 pm #279695THE OFFICIALS

January 23, 2024 at 7:45 pm #279709Feel for everyone who has travelled.
In view of weather conditions surely a decision on this could/should have been made earlier.2 users thanked author for this post.
January 23, 2024 at 7:49 pm #279711And there we had arseholes moaning about our game being called off on Friday, glad i didn’t travel but know lots that have, you have thought they could forecast 2 storms in 3 days. Sorry about that NI a bummer for you. Have we ever had a season with so many weather affected games?
