Don’t think it’s a good move dropping Whitehall. Dean should give him another chance and show some belief in him. That’s what good coaches do.

NI after my pin point precision Peterboro prediction i will try not be a smart arse AGAIN and gonna go for a really daft score prediction that is hopefully miles off.

Final Score 3-3 (HT 2-0 plus a last minute injury time equalizer)
    Att 2899 (away 299)
    2 red cards
    Shorter grass
    DH wearing third kit shirt
    JD gets grief from fans
    Loaded fries a big hit
    Fans with covid 0

Agree Whitehall should in in the starting line up

Should be finding room in the team for both Elliot and Whitehall.

Early days but against Tamworth and Peterborough Sports we created chances whilst Whitehall was playing. Less so when Elliott was on.

Whitehall is never going to get 25 a season but he gives centre backs a problem. We need more from the other 2 either side of him. I would start with Scales and Wilson until Roberts is fit. Also might be time to give Sembie Ferris another try now he’s had his operation. Scored freely for Peterborough at this level before he moved to us.

I think we will get 3 on Tuesday although I will take a scruffy 1-0.

Agree both forwards should be starting together but whether JD will change the shape is up for debate. Agree Whitehall should get another go, you don’t base an opinion on a player after one game, rather like you shouldn’t judge the team after just two games but JD was right to sub Whitehall on Saturday IMO.

Ps, I’m not judging the team on 2 games just the ongoing mentality at the club somehow passing from one team to another.

Agree Awaywego the losing mentality has become well entrenched at the club.

We started very positively all over the pitch on Saturday but 2 or 3 missed chances and you could see the confidence slip.

When Butterfield scored that should have started the charge to finish the game off but I think we slipped into what coaches love to call game management mode. We might grow enough as a team to be able to manage games as the season progresses but we are not there yet.

We only have 2 forwards on the books, I can’t see us playing them together.

Whitehall had a bad day at the office but I don’t think he’s a bad player However, Elliot for me is the key man, Dean has got to set the team up to create chances for Elliot; he’s a proven goal scorer at this level.

I’d rather two strikers up front but it’s not going to happen. I like Scales but he looks more like he’s a central attacking midfielder. I don’t think he really looks like a true winger.

I’d go 4/3/1/2 if it was me.

Go with the same back 5. Butterfield, Clunan and Beestin/Shrimpton in CM slots with Scales behind a front two of Whitehall and Elliot. I would swop out Scales with Wilson to keep him fresh or even play Wilson upfront if Elliot’s not on his game alongside Whitehall.

Dean loves this formation we’re playing now and to be fair if Whitehall didn’t perform so badly and Wilson had his shooting boots on, we would have been out of sight before Peterborough Sports even scored their goal.

I hope that’s the last of those kind of performances we get from Whitehall because that was shocking.

Out of interest, where is Sembie Ferris and how long is Roberts out for ?. I know Roberts has got over his injury but anybody know how long it’s going to take him to get up to speed ?

Jimmy said Roberts was going to have a scan tomorrow. He didn’t look particularly sharp in the pre season friendlies so even if he gets the all clear tomorrow it could be a minimum couple of weeks before he is starting. Sembie Ferris had a couple of friendly appearances for Ilkeston after his surgery but had no pre season games with us. Don’t know if he has appeared in the league for Ilkeston.

Just found a site with NPL match details and Ilkeston only played their first league game on Saturday. 3-1 away win. Barrows played but no Sembie Ferris.

Sembie Ferris was in the directors box on Saturday talking to various people during the match, wouldn’t have thought he was ready for a first team game yet, looked like he was on hospitality duty.

Our easiest game so far for Scunny with a 3-0 win, and could have been a few more.

The gate will be 2,683, with Darlington bringing about 280 fans.

    2-1 win
Darlington don’t want to lose all 3 start matches.
This can be a tough game, but their defense not good enough.

They’ve just signed Will Hatfield who’s a central midfielder.

Had the usual pi55 poor service from the club.

I have been trying all day to get a u12’s ticket for my daughter for tonight. I am a season ticket holder and wanted to get her a free u12 ticket sat next to me. I cannot get the free ticket from the online ticket system as u12’s must have a full price ticket purchased at the same time. I have rang the SUFC ticket office 5 times today with no answer, left two messages for them to contact me, and even contacted them via X (the artist formally known as Twitter), all to no avail.

So f*ck, it ain’t gonna bother coming down from York to watch the match!

The staff cuts run deep at GP, was there today getting my match ticket around 11.30, just the one lady on duty these days and she let the phone ring off the wall three times whilst serving people with match tickets and goods bought in the shop. Sorry about your daughter’s ticket Daz but it’s not the staff’s fault it’s the staff cuts that’s to blame, surely need a minimum of two in the ticket office on match days?

That’s a shame Daz. Presumably down to cost cutting. Which begs the question, at what point can it be legitimately deemed a false economy / unsustainable?

If Daz left a message there’s no reason they couldn’t have got back to him.

Non stop queue at the ticket office?

    With attendance restrictions?

    Find that hard to believe!

Absolutely no sympathy with you Daz I’m afraid, the club offered you not 1 but 2 season tickets for u12’s for free, why did you not take up their offer? to avoid all the so called problems it’s causing you. You could have just gone a bit earlier and sorted it at one of the ticket outlets it’s not insurmountable. Are you going to send your season ticket back in as a protest lol.
