    Hi guys,

Nice to see a decent sized club at this level with a proper fanbase (Well it’s not so nice for you lot).

Seen a lot of uncertainty about yourselves regarding the ground issue between PS & DH. Are you guys still hoping to be playing there by the time the season comes around?
I know myself and many more from up Darlo are looking forward to coming back to Glanford Park (My last visit was the 7-1 defeat where we finished with 9 men), but seen the issues and just curious to where you might end up playing if PS doesn’t allow the club to play at Glanford Park.

Welcome, enjoy your visits to the likes of Brackley/Banbury/Curzon etc. It’s grim. Not forgetting our little slice of hell in Darlo that we don’t like either.

    Cheers.

Hi Andy, always a great atmosphere when we play your club, fans with a great sense of humour, remember one Boxing Day when all your fans dressed up as nuns, hilarious, and another time when your chairman, can’t remember his name, George, was physically ejected from the directors box for causing problems, that must have been before he was locked up, been past your old stadium many times, what a waste, looked fantastic, wish we were back at the old show ground, happy fans, happy times.

Ah the great Paul Alcock – one of the men he sent off was Barry Conlon I think?

I don’t know if you know but the following season, Alcock returned and reduced Carlisle to 8 men and sent off manager Ian Atkins too – how we never built a statue to him, I’ll never know!

Where do Darlo play these days? I assume Feethams is housing now?

I remember the 7-1 game, Barry conlan sat behind us after his sending off- he was livid.

Always saw Darlington to a similar stature as ourselves; what’s the reason they haven’t been able to progress from NLN as surely you have the supporter base for a crack at the EFL?

When the latest bellend Raj Singh (now in charge of Hartlepool) pulled his money 6 months after winning at Wembley, it truly KO’d us. He refused to hand over the “golden share” of the club meaning we got demoted 4 leagues and having to “restart”.

We are still the same club as when we went to the Northern League in 2012/13 we become fan owned and repaid all debts owed from Singh’s era. We had to spend 4/5 years groundsharing 12 miles out of town, finally coming back home on Boxing Day 2016 (the ground we are still at, which is a local rugby club, we aren’t allowed to upgrade the facilities as they won’t agree to it).
So we are stuck here till we get the funding together to get a 7/8000 capacity stadium where we can create our own income.

The fanbase is there, but the viewing points at our current ground is awful for anyone below 6ft.

Hoping for a good 4/500 to make the trip down to Scunny on that Tuesday. As someone who lived in Grimsby for 10 years before returning back to Darlo, I’m looking forward to coming to a game I can enjoy and not as a neutral between you 2 in the Lincs Cup.

Christ, you guys have had it rough. I remember the Reynolds arena when that was built back in the early 00’s. What a white elephant that turned out to be

How are you doing with funding the new ground ? I’ve just had a look at Blackwell Meadows and that is nowhere near adequate.

It’s a shame the Darlo game is a Tuesday, you were the only club I’d have expected to bring 1000+ this year.

Enjoy it anyway, Fingers crossed both our fortunes can be reversed at some point in the near future

I think we all hated the Arena, was way too big for us and was never going to be sustainable. Was only a matter of time before shit hit the fan. Far too expensive to run.

Funding wise, we’ve not started much of it yet as we are waiting for plans to be announced and council to approve a plot of land (The idea is the same as everyone elses really. Get a plastic pitch to rent out 7 days a week, have shops etc built closeby to).
Yeah BM isn’t the best to be honest, I volunteer for the club and we had our 1st pre-season game on Saturday and the place was a shit heap, Rugby Club hadn’t done any general maintainence over the summer – So we had to clean all that up before the game. Ridiculous.

Yeah, if it was a Saturday we’d have easily brought over 1,000 – We tend to have a solid away following despite some of the distances in this “regional league”.

Always loved my visits to the feethams before Mr Reynolds destroyed your club with the Ill fated move to the Reynolds Arena and subsequent fall down the leagues, our clubs have a lot in common in that the owner tried and very nearly destroyed us.

It’s obvious that the fit and proper process doesn’t seem to filter out the worst of owners and i’am amazed it still continues in its current form, the EFL/FA must do something very quickly as many clubs are teetering on the edge after bee poorly run.

Look forward to a trip to the North East and Stottie and hope you are looking forward to the trip to GP, hope you have a good season and carry on rebuilding the club.

Looks like the “Reynolds Arena” could see football again.

And Darlo may have a noisy neighbour!

Better make sure we don’t turn up at the wrong venue.

11th tier club move into 26,500 seater stadium
