    SPORTS MOLE

“We say: Dagenham & Redbridge 4-0 Scunthorpe United

Dagenham & Redbridge are a team filled with attacking quality, and considering how well they have been playing at home they are sure to provide a tough test this weekend for their visitors.
Scunthorpe are a team low in confidence, and are likely to struggle in this particular fixture to take anything.”

Probably not far off unless we put pressure on Manny and get 5 penalties.

We are the 23rd most potent away team in the league.
We score almost a goal a game away from home.
    We have nothing to fear!

If any further evidence of Daws delusion was required here’s a snippet from his latest statement:-

” We’re doing our best, and we’re going out to attack.”

Personally I don’t believe either part is true.

    Dagenham 3-0 Scunthorpe

    12/1

    That’s a pretty dismal price.

“They play 3-1-4-2, they’re athletic, they’re got pace, runners from midfield, and strikers who will run down the sides of your defence to stretch the game out. Make no mistake it’ll be a tough match.”
    Daws – OWS

Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear!

    A £1 at 100/1 for a 6-0 mauling?

    IU forcast D&R 2 SCUNNY 0.

I used to enjoy the away games at Daggers, I found them to be one of the most friendly club to visit, my last trip was a nice drive there, arrive at a booked hotel, a few beers with friendly people, good sleep and then drive to the ground, with my blue badge, the stewards let me into the stadium and parked me next to the AScunny bus. I think the game ended 3-3, and Daggers getting two late goals, it must have been the old Scunny way of dropping everone back in defence, like they do today, the difference being that nowadays Scunny don’t usuall lead by two goals, and we now drop back on defence from about the tenth minute!!!!!!, anyway the supporters that go tomorrow, have a good day, and hope that you get a result.

THAT WAS BEFORE I LOST THE URGE OF BEING A TRUE SUFC FAN, LOST THAT STATUS AFTER THE FIRST 5 YEARS OF SWANNS ENTRY TO GP.

Was there that afternoon. The MK Dons’ owner Pete Winkleman was hopping around the piss soaked toilets of the club bar, trying to wash a dog shit off his shoe in the sink. Hilarious.

Was the 3-3 game at Dagenham when it was torrential rain towards the end of the match ?

Yes. We were 3-1 up when the players were taken off because of the weather.

They came back out about 15 mins later and the pitch was absolutely soaked.

There was only circa 20 mins keft but we managed to hold on for a point!!

    A strange game all round.

Good session in the Barking Dog before getting the tube up that day, Surprised Dagenham let us have their newish stand, Three goals, a torrential downpour and a collapse from us.

    Was that a promotion year?

Wasn’t it 21 or 22 draws that season?

We were ahead in something like 15 of them afrer the 87th minute.

    The worst promotion ever.

Yes, that was the game Bill, thinking back mate it could have been 0-3 to Scuuny, but not sure, it really pissed down and Dagenham took over the game after that. But I found them a really friendly bunch down there.

Time for the South East boys to step up and bring a big “away” support to this game.

    Oh, has Winter Wonderland opened?

But we’ve only played one game at Daggers BS, you must be thinking of some other club, 3-0 up on 67 mins, they scored a speculative goal then the worst weather I’ve ever been in took over and they were kicking into it, got to 3-2 and ref took the teams off, we left to catch the tubes only just made it back in time for train home, probably the worst feeling I’ve ever had traveling home felt like a defeat.

Same old story, concede from a set piece late on and we can’t get shots on target, same story every away game we will have settled for the result with 10 minutes to go and got deeper and deeper, unless something changes we are going to get relegated, I don’t think Tony has the bottle to be a manager but for the good of the club and the fans Swann needs to sell and get the right people in to give everyone a lift, so depressing for us fans.

Today, two things wrecked us. A referee by not disallowing their first goal after a foul; referee who doesn’t know that smacking someone in the face is not a yellow card.
Secondly, we fell into a trap which has beset us for more than a decade ie) putting every man behind the ball for the last half an hour of games ‘to prevent us conceding.’
Question. Hasn’t Daws been around for all of that period? Has he not seen what happens whenever we opt not to take the attack to the opposition?

I hope he noticed how the Daggers “defended” a 1 goal lead for the last 10 minutes.

The best form of defence is attack.

If the opposition are better, fitter, stronger, faster, higher endurance than you… then you are always on the back foot.

As we’ve said since pre-season… NLN awaits.

I know this shouldn’t have surprised me, but Daws, Mussy and Cox were all in the same Iron squad around 1989/90/91 (as was Alexander)!

    That’s over thirty years ago!

I know the principles of the game are basically the same now as they were then, but bloody hell!

The whole club is saturated with a losing mentality. It’s passed on from one team/manager to the next.

Whole thing needs a restructure but unfortunately until Swann goes, it will be more of the same.

I said last year we will be relegated to the NLN this season and I’ll put good money we will be bottom half of the NLN- if not worse- next year.
