The games are coming thick & fast!
The AI final table predictor still has Curzon as Champions by a point from us.
Let’s give ‘it’ something to think about Tuesday evening!
Let’s make Tuesday a happy hour (and half) by menacing the nashers of Curzon.
They’ve only won 2 of their last 10 games across all competitions.
Attack, attack, attack!
Iron 2-0 Nash
Whitehall & Roberts
Att: 3,456UTI
February 10, 2025 at 7:37 pm #2987042-0 Scunny Att 3357
February 10, 2025 at 8:21 pm #298707Always seem to struggle against Curzon, even during our away win this year.
If the game is tight, I hope we don’t coast in second gear and be happy with a point. Great opportunity to put some distance between ourselves and a couple of teams below tomorrow night.
February 10, 2025 at 9:15 pm #298710Something in our favour is we aren’t playing the same way when we met earlier in the season, if both teams look to pass the ball with a bit of pace it could be quite entertaining. Draws are no good to us at home and it wouldn’t surprise me if they come and have a go, those games in hand they have don’t mean a lot now their recent form has dipped.
February 11, 2025 at 1:46 am #298714Predicting a decent open footballing game , a draw written all over it with 1-1 my favoured scoreline , i think both teams would settle for that and can see it fizzling out last 15 mins with no one wanting to loose.
I hope AB gets the lads up for it from the start and they go at Curzon from KO unlike the Warrington first half performance where we allowed them to dictate the play.so 1-1
att 3,556** not easy but what out for those yellow/red cards we dont need anymore suspensions
February 11, 2025 at 7:15 am #298717Got a good feeling about this one. I think Ashton will score but we’ll grab a few

Att: 3506February 11, 2025 at 10:26 am #298721Won’t be easy but one we really could do with winning, if nothing else to give us confidence for bigger tests in the future. Up the Iron!
February 11, 2025 at 2:57 pm #298742To the lads… No pressure, but you must win this! Seriously, it would be nice, but does really depend on which players actually turn up this time.
Iron 3 – 2 Curzon
Att: 3,401February 11, 2025 at 3:22 pm #298745Three other 6 pointers tonight Chester v Kiddi,Chorley v Brackley and Alfreton v Darlo.Interesting to see how the table looks at 10 pm tonight
February 11, 2025 at 4:02 pm #298747Just seen Alfreton match is off
February 11, 2025 at 5:34 pm #298753I’m amending my prediction:
Iron 2:1 Nash
[0-0 at HT]
Whitehall & Roberts
Mols for themJust for reference:
February 11, 2025 at 7:54 pm #298759Bloody hell. Chester are 1-0 up already.
February 11, 2025 at 8:40 pm #298760Gifted them their goal but not playing too bad. Creating opportunities. Whitehall’s a big loss and the pitch looks hard to play the ball on.
February 11, 2025 at 8:47 pm #298761They got their goal and are parking the bus, and were time wasting towards the end of that first half. Can we still win this? I hope so! UTI
February 11, 2025 at 9:42 pm #298762Mo magic. You little beauty!
February 11, 2025 at 9:46 pm #298763Deserved to win that. Played some good football. Just didn’t quite fall right with Curzon defending well and deep. Good performance nonetheless.
February 11, 2025 at 9:57 pm #298764Do hope Whitehall is Ok because the reserve option isn’t going to help. Not too much damage done thanks to Fadeera.

1-1 was a fair reflection of the game. The lateness of the equaliser could make it seem like we snatched something we perhaps didn’t deserve, but that’s not really the case.
More than a draw? I don’t think so. Good chances went begging at both ends, so…

February 11, 2025 at 10:18 pm #298768Like Torps was saying, no point in really high balls to Beck that he’s struggling to get a head on, particularly if no ones really around him to latch on to flick ons. That’s how looked to me too. Curzon are a pain with that time wasting but don’t blame them. Roberts should have had a free kick edge of the area second half. Just shoved heavily off the ball.
February 11, 2025 at 10:19 pm #298770Hope your being sarcastic there Deerey we were absolutely shite once Whitehall went off, but your not are you!
Who was it said they could coach something into Beck well I don’t know what they do all week cause he ain’t learning tell him to hold it up like Whitehall and not head everything all the time.
Got out of jail to be honest probably the best side I’ve seen us come up against their number7 gave Rose the run around worth taking a look for next season if he’d come.
Piss poor defending again for their goal mind.
Excellent point in the end that was no where deserved onwards and upwards.

February 11, 2025 at 10:20 pm #298771Yeah probably not hugely deserved but should have made more with the possession and endeavour. Frustrating.
February 11, 2025 at 10:23 pm #298773‘absolutely shite’. You’re joking, surely? ‘Got out of jail’? No.

Agree with this. We’re not getting the best out of Beck at all. He seems to me to be one of those target men who should have a nippy little bugger playing six feet away from him snapping up the bits Beck can feed. We should also be set up to build towards whipping crosses in when he’s up front and in the box, rather than continuing to fanny about.

February 11, 2025 at 10:30 pm #298777Shocking defending for their goal, Kouogan had two easy opportunities to clear his lines but fannied about.
Deserved the equaliser, great goal from super-sub Mo!

February 11, 2025 at 10:42 pm #298786Curzon looked a good side probably the best at the Attis this season but we had our moments and were worth the late equaliser through young Mo. Deffo missed Whitehall when he went off but don’t expect Beck to play like him, Whitehall is more mobile and gets about the pitch better, if you want to get the best out of Beck then play the game that suits his type of player. Would love their number 7 and 10 playing for us next season, best two players on the pitch IMO.

February 11, 2025 at 10:54 pm #298787Off topic.
Farsley chairman walks away from club just had enough.
Looking ominous for our 3 pts and a +6 goal difference and mi train tickets for the game at Buxton easy come easy go. I guess.
February 11, 2025 at 11:02 pm #298788Ubaezuonu and Buckley-Ricketts (their no.7) were both out of contract at the end of last season…one made the NLN team of the season, one ended up at SUFC. I know which one I would have preferred.

February 11, 2025 at 11:39 pm #298789Another typical match against Curzon, be pleased to see the back of Them. Spencer had our back line all over the place first half, in fact for the majority of the game I thought the back 4 struggled- something to consider for the weekend.
Never really created enough, have to move quicker off the ball to break their lines, instead we seemed to content to play in front of them which we all
Know they prefer; A draw felt a fair result overall. A good finish from Mo.If Whitehall is injured then I’d be on the phone first thing desperately trying to bring a striker in, not ready to write him off just yet but Beck is struggling Big time, killed us when Whitehall had to go off.
Finally, is there an inside joke going on with Clunan winning Iron Bar MOTM? You’d have to be on something seriously stronger than the iron bar can muster up to give him our best player tonight.

February 12, 2025 at 1:13 am #298791I slagged Beck off after he miss those two sitters in consecutive games, but I felt sorry for him tonight. Beck won countless balls launched up to him and there were no runners from midfield. Roberts was most guilty as it looked like Beck was asking Roberts why he wasn’t making runs, it happened several times.
Butler said we have Beck who he’s happy to have as a replacement for Whitehall and commented that we need to get players closer to him. I hope he get’s players running beyond him and people close by because if not he’s going to be a passenger again.
I blame Butler for not sorting out a different playing style for when we have Beck up there instead of Whitehall. Butler signed him afterall !
