Sorry to add to your woes at a time like this, but the NL is no cakewalk, as we’ve found.
Your close season recruitment is paramount, and would suggest there are no thirtysomethings looking for a last payday.
That was our mistake.1 user thanked author for this post.
April 15, 2022 at 5:36 pm #235672We’ll be lucky to have a squad of twenty-somethings!

April 15, 2022 at 5:39 pm #235674We don’t even have a scoreboard at the moment so the likely hood of us assembling a squad of players is questionable.

April 15, 2022 at 7:31 pm #235699He’s known we’ve going down months ago and quite rightly too IMO he has been blooding youngsters at different times to see what they are made of and give them a taste of the battles ahead next season. New experienced players will come in to match up with the best of the youngsters we have to make a fist of it next season. If it goes tits up then Hill will have questions to answer but he has gone down the right route over recent months and next season is when he should be judged, I understand the gut reaction of some on here but an experienced manager like Hill will overtime provide progress. This has been coming four years not four months.

A non-binary replicant à la Blade Runner.
April 16, 2022 at 8:00 pm #235843He’s played a load of kids and can hide behind that to an extent but it’s not an excuse – because it’s not fair on some of them who clearly aren’t ready.
It’s just trying to paper over the obvious cracks by saying you are giving youth a chance.
I felt genuinely sorry for Ethan Young yesterday.
He’s an 18 year old centre half making his full league debut at left back for some unknown reason when we had O’Malley on the bench – and he was up against Paul Smythe, who had him on toast. It was almost child cruelty and as far as I can see served no purpose whatsoever.
Even if they were actually ready they’ve been presented with an impossible task coming into that side.
Gallinore and Moore-Billam (when he came on) weren’t bad – at least they were prepared to physically engage which was more then you can say for some of the others.

April 16, 2022 at 8:46 pm #235844If you are going to play kids at least play them in their usual position.
It’s reasonable to expect a seasoned professional (if only we had any) to be able to play multiple positions but not teenage debutants.
April 17, 2022 at 12:41 am #235854Hills team selection against Orient was utter gash … as it has been on numerous other occasions.
Only he seems to know WTF hes doing and why .. his after match (defeat) ramblings are so tedious also.
We need a Shaun Dyche type character
