Topics: 100Lose to the team from the settlement on the River Lea on “Good Friday” and our Orient Express will have left the station.
The National League is our destination and sunken Venice.
“Good Friday” can never be again; henceforth, it shall be titled: “Relegation Friday”.
The crucifixion will be very painful.
Alas, there will be no resurrection on the third day.
Enjoy the views from your carriage window.

True, but it’s still going to be inconsolably painful to have that big red “R” next to our name.

I thought we would at least be the first club with the dreaded R. But Crewe beat us to that.
And they’ve got 25pts!

If we had to get to 5th from bottom for safety, we’d have been relegated a couple of weeks ago!

Just Swann, he is solely responsible IMO.

National League is our purgatory.
April 15, 2022 at 9:10 am #235596Renee we stopped fighting over a year ago, it was only pure luck we didn’t get relegated last season after a poor few months at the end of the season.
this season there has been no fight what so ever and it proves it with the points we have, and I don’t know how we have got this many, I know we have had injuries but even this last few weeks we have put experienced players on the bench and played the kids, even though the youth team don’t do anything special at their own level, these lads are promising but still developing in body and experience and though it is good for the future but not so good for this season, last week we brought a player back from Cleethorpes to play yet we had players on the bench who could have played, now Cameron Wilson has been brought back from Scarborough so it looks like it is going to be virtually the youth team for the rest of the season and trying to win is unimportant, so the club aren’t bothered.

The EFL hasn’t exactly been our heaven for the past four years!

We live to fight another day.Excellent!
Let us hope that today heralds a new dawn!
Eostre is reportedly a goddess celebrated by the ancient Germanic people.
Her name comes from the Proto-Germanic word for ‘dawn’ making her the goddess of the dawn / spring.1 user thanked author for this post.
April 15, 2022 at 11:31 am #235607Are we going to spring into action for a change, rather than sitting back and letting teams boss us it would be nice to see us go at teams and put them on the back foot, but then again we have a lot of kids in the team and they get easily bullied

Goes back further than that. Ishtar was the Babylonian goddess of fertility.
Another tale hijacked by Christianity. At least we get a long weekend out of it!

Great post, glad you kept it currant. A one nail victory would also have been more appropriate.

First 2 minutes against Mansfield was brilliant, can we hope for 5 minutes today?
April 15, 2022 at 2:57 pm #235632Not looking at that lineup, certainly settling for Scunthorpe United 0.
April 15, 2022 at 3:37 pm #235633Very strange line up and 3-0 already. Shows how weak this squad is. It will have no chance in the National League.
April 15, 2022 at 3:41 pm #235634Well….we’re certainly being crucified today.
April 15, 2022 at 3:41 pm #235635I have tried to give Hill the benefit of the doubt. However, as with Cox before, the ownership issues predominate, but that doesn’t render the manager powerless. The bizarre team selections are on him and the buck with the January signings has to lie with him too. We were told they were his signings, though our lack of attraction to players is a factor.
Regardless, this doesn’t give me hope he can motivate us in the conference. :-(
