I find myself in almost total disagrment with a lot that has been said on here. Loft and Turan first time out together, give them time they will begin to gell. Our centre backs look good. Bedeeau is comfy on the ball and a real outlet .At the beginning of last season Gillead was described as too lightweight, now our (and I agree) best performer.I like Spence and Vincent in midfield , Again give them time. This a marathon not a sprint. My glass is more than half full. UTI.

I thought Turan looked pretty promising as well. I’m shocked people are giving him a 2 and Loft a 5. Loft looked like things we’re not going for him and just mentally wasn’t at the races….he was shocking to say the least.

SST, what did you think of that formation ?

Also the fact Green was left on the bench and Hallam was brought on to partner Turan ?

Actually, how the hell did Loft even get as long as he did ?

I agree with you and SST to some extent. Turan was no way a 2 in rating. He was lively and could actually bring himself into linking play between players. However, his end product was poor. He seemed a bit of a headless chicken at times, but this was still more productive than Loft.

Loft couldn’t pass, couldn’t run into space, as Turan did and offered no movement. He was abysmal. Loft was far closer to the 2 rating than Turan in my opinion. A shambolic display that need serious improvement to justify his starting position. Turan seemed limited, but at least he showed some capability of linking with others. Loft offered nothing but weak passes, being hounded off the ball and hiding from responsibility. On that performance I can understand the Carlisle fans’ views of him.

I thought considering Turan was starting his first game in English football, he did ok…and you have to factor in he was playing alongside Loft who was playing like he had blinkers and lead boots on.

I’d be fairly happy sticking Turan upfront with McAtee next weekend but Cox has a thing for Loft going by what he’s said about him previously. I personally don’t think Turan and Loft will ever work as a partnership.

Good news is though Clarke is ready for a start according to cox…Olomola is back training next week and Onariase is back training as well.

Rowe is crocked though and McGahey came off Injured. I’d be tempted to give Clarke, Onariase a game next week and start them both next match. Bedeau looks to have something but when watching him you feel he’s never far away from dropping a clanger.

O’Malley needs to start at LB too. Is 3 or 4 weeks when Olomola has got a bit of fitness we’ll have some decent options, can hardly be a bad thing.

On that loft performance today, was as bad as Tomi Ameobi….absolutely shocking. How hes stayed on for as long as he did when Green was on the bench is disgraceful really.

Loft had a bad day but consistency can be one of the things missing from league 2 players. He’s had 2 good games and one bad scored 2 in 3.

I can’t vouch for the Port Vale game, but he didn’t do much in the Newport game besides the wonder goal. Now, this is not me blaming him, since he was isolated and couldn’t do much and he deserves plaudits for that wonder goal. However, I am going to be cautious in treating that as a standard performance of his; same with yesterday too.

It might be that yesterday was a blip, but his reputation at Carlisle was bad. I’m going to settle on withholding judgement for the foreseeable until we get a better idea as to his standard performance. Until then I don’t think we can say much about his overall quality in an Iron shirt and whether he’s consistently bad, good or prone to one bad game in a while.

    Agree with BRI regarding Loft.

We are going to have to get used to young players with little League experience having some poor games. This will inevitably mean we are likely to lose a number of games against poor sides like we did yesterday. In as much as you can tell watching on iFollow we played most of the football on show and deserved at least a point at Crawley but that wIll happen. The only thing Crawley had that we didn’t was a bit of experience and nous. It will come but is going to take a while.

I would prefer Cox to decide on a simple formation that involves playing people in their best positions certainly until the team gel and gain some experience as a group.

We have a very inexperienced set of players we have to give the time. But I do expect them to work hard when out of possession.

Hornshaw is playing as a wingback 0r right back he is neither he is a Centre Mid. But this 3 across the back makes him a wingback and I do see some not getting involved.

No player should leave a job to someone else !

    Interesting map.

Highlights what a staggeringly miserable afternoon Loft had.

Is that tongue in cheek, SST?
The main stat from this weeks game was Crawley 1 Scunthorpe 0. And the qualitative assessment is that it was yet another crap performance.

Didn’t watch the game today, was expecting a thrashing from Leeds after comments on here, were Leeds worse than us? Maybe not such a poor Crawley side after all.
