Don’t know what to feel about this – probably for the best but equally I can’t see if changing a huge amount either.

Be interesting to see where we go from here.

Was only a matter of time and some would probably say long overdue but who the hell would take this on, especially under the current leadership?

Sorry for Coxy – really nice guy but probably out of his depth . Really wanted it to work for the fella but it was the right decision in the end, as tough as that is on him personally. Wish him all the best and hopefully a future role back in football where he can continue to learn his trade. He deserves it.

Anyone seen Nige at Forrest Pines yet?

Remember, remember, the first of November!

    Nuno, Coxy and Schopp!

I see no reason why a disastrous two seasons should ever be forgot!

This is going to be interesting…

Wrong appointment in the first place way out of his depth.
Swann now needs to see who applies and interviews them accordingly to get the right man.and must have no previous connections with the club.

Under Swann, have we had a manager who’s been interviewed from a pool of applicants? My impression is that the appointment is always made by the chairman’s choice & his alone.

Really wanted it to work out for him but he just hasn’t been good enough from day 1. Will be very interesting to see who comes in but my money is on Swanny taking the cheapest route possible and that’s promoting McMahon.

Feel for Neil but the record of only 3 wins from about 30 is terrible.

    Experience required now.

    Good riddance!
Sigh of relief – his handling of two almost totally different squads has been lamentable.
These players aren’t dross – they are merely ordinary: they needed modelling, encouraging, teaching and – on occasions – booting up the rear.
Tactically, this man’s ineptitude has never been matched at our club.
We now need a tough guy in to do the business.
I’ll wager there has been a dozen former league managers applying in the last hour – and quite possibly forty more by teatime tomorrow.
These are guys who think that they might never again get a league berth. Loads to choose from.
There always are, Ferrite – even with Swanny in charge.

Where’s this nice guy come from? From what I’ve seen of him at training he never acknowledged anyone down there unlike Lillis who always come an had a word.

If it really was Neil’s idea to appoint the current chief scout then hopefully he will also get the heave ho as part of the clear out. Be interesting to know the reasons why not if this isn’t the case !

Far too negative. Had to go. We would never have survived playing 11 men in our own box and having 20% of the play.

The worst manager since Dickie Rooks 74-76.

Stuck doggedly to tactics that will never work even for the great Sir Alex.

Well the chairman has obviously ignored my opinions that I put on his survey. Hande up everyone who is confident he will make the right choice this time.
Would love to see Nige back but think rhere is zero chance uf that.

Sorry Neil but you had to go. If only you had played the fast free flowing attacking football you promised it might have been different. Good luck for the future your one of our own.

Sorry to see him go with him being a local lad and ex player, but 2 summer’s on the trot he has promised exciting attacking football but we have seen the totally opposite and if we take the lead he shuts up shop and probably over thinks games and swaps the team more than Ranieri, even on Saturday after winning the game the week before he still made a change and said after the game he wished he had made more, certainly the football we have played and the chairman have been the reason why fans are staying away, the last 3 and a quarter seasons have been a disaster and we need a change in style of football and the chairman to start to show enthusiasm again.

Cox had enough chances – he was woefully woefully short of anything near competent – even his interviews, whilst refreshing (!) were just soundbites because he lacked the basic football intelligence to talk in more depth about things, my lads….. channels….. pass and move….. trained well… tired legs/leggy. It was all bollocks in the end – he just couldn’t do the job.

And I’m not absolving Swann of the shitshow we find ourselves in. Its just another bad choice from somebody equally lost in football

I hope he’s asked how he’ll be changing the way he appoints managers, given he’s sacked 8 in 8 seasons.

Lovely bloke! but unfortunately lovely blokes very rarely succeed in their chosen trade, Neil was out of his depth and should have stayed a assistant longer to gain experience.
Hope he gets another job within football but IMO he should go back to coaching and leave the managing well alone as he was always going to struggle, appointing mark lillis was a disaster as well! He had been out of football far to long.
Saturday now is a free hit for Tony and Paul no one expects us to win there will be reasonable crowd which should help so please give the supporters some attacking football and dump the negative defensive based football

If we return to a back four with a more attack minded set up on Saturday then that should point to what McMahon thought of the Cox system for matchday. Maybe even young Wilson may start or even get a place on the bench, hope so.

No point playing 3 CBs when 2 of them only have one good knee between them. Maybe just play the 2 fit ones instead of benching one?

Thats a bit radical Cass. Playing the best available players (who are fit) and playing them in a system they understand.

Let’s hope the next patsy agrees with you.

I remember when Paul Hurst turned up with Chris Doig, people were saying they didn’t want Doig as he was a bully, funny how plenty of ex players would follow them back and play for them successfully this season.Whilst I don’t condone bullying we seem to need a firm hand at the rudder right now, somebody who is willing to be the boss when it is required.
