I understand that agents and players want to do the best they can for their careers and family but would it be fair to say that the sooner a contract is agreed at The Iron the greater the committment shown to the club?
Do the club set a deadline (say 30th June for example) after which the offer is withdrawn?
Would you be suspicious as to the loyalty to the club if they waited until the end of July to sign?

Hilton did a good job last year the players he brought in mainly didn’t have agents, we only forked out £5000 to agent’s, York paid out £128.000.
Last season Butterfield and Wilson told the club they would be looking elsewhere straight away but came back later.
Would imagine your not far off the mark with a deadline for those who want to consider other options.

‘Hilton’ and ‘good job’ shouldn’t be in the same sentence, unless it’s in reference to his leaving or comparisons to the other use of the word ‘job’.

Contract offers should be for 21 days only to guarantee the terms offered.

Our management need to have their squad assembled as soon as possible.

Most probably couldn’t believe what they were offered. Why bring an agent?

A decent agent would have done their due diligence and come to the conclusion that if it looks to good to be true, it probably isn’t or comes with a very high risk of going pear shaped.

Your “if it looks to good to be true, it probably isn’t” turned out to be correct Deerey has far as we know all the contracts are and were paid in full.
