Looks like there are a few back in contention for this one. Hoping that Cox can resist disrupting a winning side again and let those who played against Crawley have another opportunity. Mainly thinking of Pugh here.
Massive opportunity to get that illusive away win here. Have some belief in your players Neil!

October 28, 2021 at 8:25 pm #216656It’s interesting, there were even some positive signs at Barrow in terms of the bright start to the game although that only lasted about 15 minutes. A similar start to that and perhaps a start for Beestin would go a long way though, I reckon.

He doesn’t like that, do I expect his favourites to have more of a chance than some others – a resounding YES.

October 28, 2021 at 11:01 pm #216665I am going for a 1-0 win for Scunny, it is not that we are playing good football, but more a case of Colchester falling quickly down the league, and one win out of their past five matches, and some very poor home form suggests that if Cox really went for the three points, they are there for the taking, but Cox must play a similar or the same team as last Saturday, but knowing Cox, it will sadly probably be a 5-4-1 set up with three changes.
I still cannot see why young Wilson cannot even make the bench never mind the starting eleven, is he injured?
October 29, 2021 at 4:35 pm #216689Those last two home performances have got me a bit giddy, I genuinely believe they have shown that this squad is capable of better when they roll up their sleeves and work hard for each other. Still short of quality overall and that won’t change anytime soon but with Colchester struggling I am also going for a 0-1 away win, probably the first time in ages that I have agreed with BS. Don’t let me down guys just keep bloody grafting for 95 minutes tomorrow.
October 29, 2021 at 7:38 pm #216704Cameron Wilson is fit. But we don’t seem to play down to the goalline – look at how many corners we create !! It is shocking, Cam would do a a great job taking defenders on out wide and he can quickly cut back and hit very accurate shots in at the keeper.
So that could be the problem !

BS thinks Cox might really go for the three points….aye, right, and I might start trusting Swanny😅😅😅And CBRP thinks Cox might resist disrupting a side, leaving out his favourites.😅😅😅
What a pair of comedians you are, you little tinkers.

Not probably Iron-awe, but surely !!!!!!!!
October 30, 2021 at 7:16 am #216721Don’t see how anybody can predict a 1-0 win for us unless they anticipate us scoring very late. Of course if we score in the first 60 minutes we will drop back behind the ball and try and defend it, eventually conceding due to law of averages and possession. So I’ll be positive and say 1-1 even though as usual it will be like the Alamo at the end as we desperately hang on.

October 30, 2021 at 7:51 am #216722There are indeed a few ‘green shoots’:
1) Squad fitness improving gradually.
2) Fewer members of the squad on the treatment tables.
3) Hackney adjusting to Division Four football.
4) Rory looking a class act.
5) Hippo contributing.
6) More team spirit – Harrogate away may yet have been a turning point.
7) Some better choices by the manager.
8) Was there some sort of epiphany in Neil after him witnessing the consequences of uber defending at Barrow?
9) Pugh is doing the business.Time alone will tell. This is not a bad squad – rather, it is an ordinary one which, if properly organised, will only be relegated if the injury list returns to its default state or worse.
October 30, 2021 at 9:17 am #216726Not a fan of Hackney or Hippo yet, I prefer Perry and Beestin, but surely the winning team has to start this week. Subject to fitness of course but any other selection would be poor management IMO.
October 30, 2021 at 9:20 am #216727I’m going for 2-0 them, both gosls in last ten.

NO NO NO Alkazar, I suggested that if Cox went for the 3 points (my suggestion), they are there for the taking with Colchesters poor form. Then added that knowing Cox it would be 5-4-1 and let them attack us, thats the only system that he knows and uses, that’s why I never bother wasting my time by going to games, yes the first season in 71 years and very sad, but Cox must be the reason for the 1,800 drop in gates.
Sorry my mate, but please do not tinker with my words, there are enough that does that, I have a job with doing that myself ha ha! And just for the record, it was reported that you had been seen drinking with Peter at Forest Pines, and that you had bought the three rounds of drinks that you had together, is that true Alk ???

October 30, 2021 at 1:19 pm #216733That last is soooo obviously bull doings.
Only three rounds?
Wouldn’t satisfy me even if I had to buy.
Some on here call me alcy.October 30, 2021 at 1:31 pm #216734Let’s start with the team that started last Saturday, don’t take players off if they are playing well like last week when the midfield played well and he took two off and we struggled, no sitting too deep if we take the lead and try to put the game to bed, big worry they have a former striker in Freddie Sears so hope he doesn’t have a good day.
October 30, 2021 at 1:44 pm #216737My prediction:
2v1 Scunthorpe. We go 1v0 up in first half, second half we fall back into our shells and concede. But last 10 mins we get a chance and snatch the win like so many do against us!October 30, 2021 at 3:12 pm #216739Well here we go again then, absolutely shocking defending!!
October 30, 2021 at 3:24 pm #216740Cox brings Davis back in and this back 3 fail again.
October 30, 2021 at 3:31 pm #216741Davies skinnned for second goal
October 30, 2021 at 3:39 pm #216742The nightmare continues, what a bunch of donkeys. Is cox even a qualified coach? He has absolutely no idea and needs to be gone tonight. Disgracefull. I dont even have a word for how I feel about that shambles.

October 30, 2021 at 3:42 pm #216743Correction: Millen skinned for second goal.
Think Watson should have done better too, wasn’t exactly in the top corner.

Cox needs to be gone now.
