Are we likely to see one soon?
About what the plan is 2024-5?
It’s Moody’s job to do so, but he doesn’t listen to the fans going by some of the posters who have emailed him and not had a reply.
He was quick enough to send out banning orders for the owner of this site and main podcast contributor. Not his decision, but no remorse for doing so later.
I just feel for those who have stumped up £240, or more.
I won’t hold my breath…May 1, 2024 at 11:46 am #285007They’ll be doing the releasing of players now.
May 1, 2024 at 11:55 am #285010It is NOT James Moodys job to make statements. He does as instructed by Michelle and the Board.
He does an incredible job and in its darkest hour did everything possible to keep this club within the rules, the previous deadbeat owner deserted him and the staff.

May 1, 2024 at 12:04 pm #285014Having a well deserved break.
One of two people who kept the club running whilst Hilton was determined to run the club into the ground.
Some people have very short memories with blinkered views.10 users thanked author for this post.
May 1, 2024 at 12:07 pm #285016Aye, you’d think the club expected to lose in the semis!

Could we have afforded to win the Final though?
May 1, 2024 at 12:26 pm #285019hopefully it will be a lot smaller squad than the quality of players to save money

May 1, 2024 at 12:34 pm #285020Smaller squad shouldn’t be an issue if they’re coached well and avoid as many injuries.
May 1, 2024 at 2:34 pm #285041In terms of a player retained list it’s not an exact Science but you might be able to work a few out based on the player tweets that the club are reposting and the wording of them (or in the case of those leaving the lack of certain wording in them):
Staying?
Cal Roberts – “we’ll be back stronger and better for sure”
DSF – “Time to recover, regroup and refresh and go again next season”
Whitehall – “All we can do is go again”
Tom Pugh – “We rest up and (go) again next season”Going?
Scales – “Thankyou for all the support this season”
Denton – “Gutted, thank you for your continued support throughout”1 user thanked author for this post.
May 1, 2024 at 4:21 pm #285058Yes, noticed those, particularly the ones that intimate a future with the club. Is that reading too much in to it though?

Absolutely, I may be way off. The differences in the wording is just the first thing that struck me that’s all.

May 1, 2024 at 5:53 pm #285067Yes, me too. Be interesting to see how it materialises against what they’ve posted.
May 2, 2024 at 3:10 pm #285110I think that contracted for next season are:-
Whitehall, Kelly, Fitzsimons, Kouogan, Roberts and Law.
Based on Saturday’s selection Kelly is 4th choice LB and has surely indicated a wish to leave, he might be already sorted. Hope there’s a fee involved. I’d be amazed if any of the others will get a better offer than the (alleged) wages they’re on here and they’d form the basis of a decent team. If we can keep a few of the OOCs (DSF won’t be on much and Boyce might have another season in him) who are prepared for a reduction, possibly still more than they’d get elsewhere, then the hit might not be too great.1 user thanked author for this post.
May 2, 2024 at 4:50 pm #285120May 2, 2024 at 5:40 pm #285126Well done Michelle and her board, it was the only sensible option to retain the goodwill created since they took over amongst the majority of the fan base, it will be a really interesting summer now, thanks JD for all your enthusiasm since arriving but we need a more experienced manager at this level.

May 2, 2024 at 6:18 pm #285140Right decision, but sad to see him go. Tried restoring some pride in the club after years of people intent on taking it out.
Wish him and his staff all the best.

May 3, 2024 at 1:01 am #285181I think that contracted for next season are:-
Whitehall, Kelly, Fitzsimons, Kouogan, Roberts and Law.Kelly will probably have something already lined up. The one that worries me is Law, another year on his contract and spends 80% of the season out injured. I hope a club is stupid enough to take a chance on him on a free transfer.
Roberts if to be believed is on a fortune for a club at this level, but clubs will surely be interested in him. I think Roberts is the biggest earner !
Would Fitzsimons be that big of a loss ?
Whitehall sold for a fee along with Fitzsimons and Roberts ?
May 3, 2024 at 2:03 am #285182When in doubt, don’t.
Benjamin FranklinIt was good enough for one of the founding fathers.
He was a daft lad trying to serve Baked Malabar Scallop football at our level.
Pie & Peas footy is the order of the day.May 3, 2024 at 6:23 am #285183We have seen enough to know that Whitehall has what it takes if played in a workable system. Frankly, I suspect that there are many managers out there who could get the best out of Elliot.
How many would not like to see that duo turned into a forward partnership? There may well be 50 goals (fitness allowing) to lead our season into a real title challenge.
I suspect that there will be many similarities in the team from last season to the team in the next.
Those who think that there will be a host of our better players leaving may well be surprised.
Clearly, monies have already been saved with yesterday’s news. The new manager will take the job basing it more on the possible building of a reputation rather than the grasping of filthy lucre.3 users thanked author for this post.

Meat and two veg. If it’s good enough for drummers it’s good enough fir regional football

Thankfully logic, common sense and forethought & planning prevailed.
He was a puppet general installed by WHAM to undertake his car crash plan.
Paid well to take the crap that would have hit the fan if we’d not ‘outed’ WHAM.
Thankfully the people connected with the WHAM era have now being eradicated.
Muzzy is Muzzy and he’s ‘bomb & fireproof’ lol.

A stay on your feet Whitehall & Elliot combo played in a 4-4-2 would probably have fired us to be champions this season.
To win, you’ve not to fear losing.
Jimbob couldn’t grasp that!

Not sure I agree with that – a larger squad is a distinct advantage for a full-time team in this league, with the ability to bring in decent replacements when injuries & suspensions take hold in the middle of the season when you’re playing twice a week.
