September 18, 2023 at 9:15 am #272567There’s no way Chorley has a population of 118,000. More like 40,000.

September 18, 2023 at 9:28 am #272573Looking at that, that’s the population of the borough, not just the town. It included all the surrounding villages into the population.

Chorley v Runcorn Linnets
Interesting:
Runcorn Linnets F.C. are an English football club based in Runcorn, Cheshire.
The club currently plays in the Northern Premier League Division One West, and is a full member of the Cheshire County Football Association.
The club is run by a trust which is a registered society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014, and is registered with the Financial Services Authority.
September 18, 2023 at 9:54 am #272575Good side Linnets and did well to draw on Sat. Had a player called Sam Heathcote last year who’s at Macc I think this year – unless he’s on dual reg. Very talented. Like to see him in an Iron shirt
September 18, 2023 at 12:10 pm #272583Victory Park will be our 181st away ground.
September 22, 2023 at 2:00 am #2730861,180 tickets allocated to us.
Is there an appetite for it this weekend?
How many have we sold?September 22, 2023 at 6:08 am #273087Too much of a trek for me – and I live rather closer than most.
September 22, 2023 at 8:00 am #273090Be interesting to see how the team performs with all the off the field issues going on , Chorley not a bad side by all accounts and i reckon HMS piss the league is all about to go pear shaped.
September 22, 2023 at 8:52 am #273093With all the injuries we have at the moment
particularly amongst important players the next two or three weeks aro going to be difficultSeptember 22, 2023 at 9:10 am #273095We have not looked like HMS Piss the League since the Scarborough game and have never yet given a “champion” performance in an away game.
Now we are missing probable first 11 picks, Clunan, Beestin, Roberts, Evans, Ogle and Scales for varying amounts of time we are in for a tough run of games. A point would be a good result this Saturday. 4 points from the Buxton and Brackley home games would be excellent.
After that we should be closer to fielding the first eleven. Of course that assumes no further injuries, suspensions, player sales or off field distractions.
The next 6 weeks or so will likely define our on field season. The unpopular changes referred to in the directors statement need to be announced and implemented quickly otherwise the season is going to drift away from us.

A goal each for Hazelhurst & Johnson.
Whitehall to score for us.

September 23, 2023 at 3:02 am #273186Todays performance will tell us a lot about the mind set of the players with regard to the turmoil the club is in off the pitch compounded by all the injuries.
Heart says 3-2 Iron
Head says 1-1Att 1428
September 23, 2023 at 9:09 am #273193Getting the 10,08 looks like it’s still running, a few have gone to Blackpool for either Friday night or the weekend it’s really not just about the football, one eyed Tommy was going do you remember him IFA how he’s not on a banning order god only knows.

I do rEcall a fella with one eye but would be telling phibs if i said i remembered his name.
Back in my days of full season home and away without fail it was so much more than the football, got some great memories that no one can take away ..
Talk of taking the NLN by storm has died and the more cautious fans saying avoiding defeat is a bonus .. wow how things have changed since the Athletic broke the news re DH

September 23, 2023 at 1:48 pm #273213if we dont win today and also dont take all the points against Buxton i will start to worry about promotion regardless of what is happening behind the scenes ..

September 23, 2023 at 4:35 pm #273221sounds like Ellis for Chorley has just got Evans sent off.
September 23, 2023 at 4:52 pm #273222Att: 1,711, I think I just heard.
September 23, 2023 at 5:07 pm #2732261-1, I’ll take a point away and down to ten men, would have been a win but for some nonsense from Fitz, don’t piss about just knock it long if in doubt.
September 23, 2023 at 5:17 pm #273228We slip down to fourth.
Two points from top but with the monsoon game in hand.September 23, 2023 at 5:23 pm #273233Who’s going to play next week? Maybe I’m wrong but I still think when we get all the players back from injury we will still win the league as most teams are inconsistent
September 23, 2023 at 5:28 pm #273236Including us.

September 23, 2023 at 5:44 pm #273240We are inconsistent because we cannot play our best side
September 23, 2023 at 9:36 pm #273263Evans got Evans sent off, our free kick and he got wound up don’t give the ref that choice, best ref of the season hardly noticed him, Kougan, Evans, and Fitz stop buggering about at the back speed it up play the ball up field, Kougan cost us the 3 points today we weren’t in the game for the 1st 15/20 mins but after that they had nothing to offer clearly tiring till Evans mishap. So that’s 10 games in now and the malaise is still there,it’s us trying our best to f things up and we are rather good at it, Scales at Alfreton, Kougan and Evans today, sloppy Ogle at Curzon Peterborough at home can’t remember who but we managed to throw 2pts, still we’re in a playoff position for all our faults exactly were I us expected to be, but must stop the fannying about at the back we’re just not good enough to do it, nice place itself Chorley and plenty of good pubs to frequent, chippy near the market Greek and Caribbean outlets there to, found the chippy before the Caribbean shame about that.
September 23, 2023 at 9:49 pm #273266Fair summary Awayswego. We look a completely different side to S’boro and South shields, midfield non existent. Hardly strung 3 passes together
2 centre backs now potentially both out so we are on the bare bones. Then again, can you blame the players with all the background noise.
Good traditional non league ground was Chorley, would happily go back. Away crowd of 400 was so subdued- could barely muster a chant.
