I see we are off the top of the table already ! Carson 1-0 Hereford!
Bloody Carson should stick to butlering at Downton.
October 19, 2024 at 4:58 pm #292139Listening to it on Humberside we went for a goalless draw and got one, we didn’t seem to worry their keeper much and Chester were woeful with their shooting, by the expressions of Oli and Torps
October 19, 2024 at 4:59 pm #292140We will not be top of the table at 5pm!
Next time put a couple of extra exclamation marks, it might come true then.
October 19, 2024 at 5:01 pm #292141Well there we go, my Humble Pie is already in the oven. Can’t be to critical over a dogged point at Chester. It’s not the draws away at promotion rivals that upset me…. It’s the failure to beat bottom half of the table opposition at the AA! Let’s see what Tuesday brings!

October 19, 2024 at 5:02 pm #292142Without a change in the system or personne, Chester will prove to strong for us on Saturday.2 or 3-0. We will not be top of the table at 5pm!
I’m guessing you won’t be giving up the day job to take up football punditry professionally?

You can’t beat a bit of Bully!
October 19, 2024 at 6:22 pm #292149Good point I suppose but it sounded awful esque of the displays so far this season.
Torpey didn’t sound too excited by the display. Sounded as dull as dishwater.
Maybe some feedback on those that went may explain.October 19, 2024 at 6:38 pm #292150If AB set the team up for a draw then it’s been a very successful day against the current home form team. Put it this way, AB will be the happier of the two managers tonight, a very good away point which keeps us, Mr P Anders, at the top of the table. Now it’s vital we follow up on Tuesday night with a home win, that will make today all the sweeter.
October 19, 2024 at 7:08 pm #2921512 weeks off and was they up for it, grandson says no,
Butler saw an improvement though said it 3 times, interestingly no subs used guess if you don’t make any you can’t make the mistake of taking the wrong player off, wonder how many more games we’ll target for a draw, top place to 7th covered by 3 points so plenty to go at.
He will target a win on Tuesday won’t he.October 19, 2024 at 7:08 pm #292152Seals 2-0 Iron
We can’t score.
They’ll be on it!Nor can they!
Duller than ditchwater.October 19, 2024 at 7:21 pm #292155It was a tough watch, in the main the teams cancelled each other out. Whitehall and Beestin were isolated at times with little support. But a good point in the end at a promotion rival. Oxford City won 2-0 at Warrington, their form is improving…
October 19, 2024 at 7:34 pm #292156One win in seven, they need to start putting a string of performances together because aside from a home cup tie against weak opposition we have been pretty average. Two big games coming up as it’s getting very congested at the top. Can we unleash the shackles with 7 defensive players on the pitch though?
October 19, 2024 at 8:06 pm #292158Decent performance against a decent team. Defensively a bit rusty first 30 minutes and gave them 3 great opportunities to get shots on target. Fortunately they wasted all 3 opportunities. Rest of the game we managed them pretty well. Fitz had one regulation save to make second half.
We are so limited going forward because our “wing backs” as usual offered little to nothing going forward. Nothing against Barrows and Denton who are very good full backs at this level but wing backs they ain’t.
Still top says Butler but if we are going to win this league we need to put the likes of Rushall and Farsley away at home and at least not lose at Southport.
October 19, 2024 at 8:24 pm #292161I said if we start targeting we will be in trouble.
The fans can see over complication, get back to simplicity.

October 20, 2024 at 8:38 am #292168Haven’t seen the game (Gareth’s blog seems to be the quickest getting the highlights out)but it’s a point away from home stopping the rot. the moaning on here and elsewhere you’d think we were on the verge of the NPL ffs

October 20, 2024 at 8:55 pm #292184October 20, 2024 at 9:17 pm #292186That’s a smoke bomb on the pitch I can see, well if anyone is going to get a fine or points deduction it must be them after their antics at Scunthorpe as well last season.
October 21, 2024 at 12:49 am #292187Go get em Chief :)
October 22, 2024 at 3:05 pm #292211Dreadful performance again. You know it’s bad when even the ever optimistic Stu Maw is saying how poor it was on the cult page. But on the plus we don’t have to witness IFA’s bare arse whilst taking a jaunt down Frod Rd.
October 23, 2024 at 2:32 pm #292243Another poor performance and result for them against Buxton has led to calls for the managers head when the sun was shining out of his a*se before playing us.
Not only us with fickle fans

October 23, 2024 at 2:43 pm #292244Some strange results last night. Chorley and Curzon both won after weekend defeats, and Hereford did the opposite. As above, suddenly it’s Chester who can’t score in a brothel after our goal drought ended.
Looks like any positive consistency of form will be the key in this league.
October 23, 2024 at 3:25 pm #292247Just be US. Keep the plan basic and simple and make opponents have to cope with us.
Being on the front foot at every chance boosts confidence and pace. The results needed for promotion will follow.

Stu Saw the light and Frod road is indeed safe from my rather rotund yet soft n silky arse cheeks

Not really. Both teams and a few others show flashes of decent football but they’re inconsistent. Whereas we’ve been pretty consistent defensively all season, just had a dip in performances and goals. Promotion material I reckon. Lest we forget, that’s the objective
