Hilton’s legacy,he provided the team that is leaving Butler hamstrung. His financial failures have left us unable to improve the squad from the failed outfit he left behind. While they cheered him, lied about and abused anyone who wasn’t taken in.
Now they’re blasting Butler for Hilton’s legacy1 user thanked author for this post.
November 9, 2024 at 8:31 pm #293517AB had the chance to improve the squad during the summer, it didn’t go well did it?

Why bring Rowley in and sign that lad on dual registration when he could have signed two wide players?
We’ve ended up with 4 players as strikers and only two of them are actually strikers. Butler signs Carlton as our supposed goal scoring threat to play him upfront due to him believing he was a striker, even though he’s played on the wing nearly all his career.
Despite a huge throw, Nicholson at the back looks like a death trap.
I agree with that you’re saying about Butler being hamstrung somewhat with the budget, but what he’s done with it is an absolute joke. People on twitter say we should walk this league as we have the best squad in it, but it’s terrible and has absolutely no balance to it whatsoever.
Butler has to take responsibility for it, you can’t keep blaming the con man with 20 names.
Butler has the players if he shuffled them correctly to play a 4/3/3 now if he really wanted to, but he won’t do it. Hate to say it because I really wanted him to succeed, but this is largely down to Butler’s doing. The prats behind the scenes who offered him an extension after only 7 games didn’t help either.

November 10, 2024 at 10:33 am #293566Echoing WGs post. Signed Brogan, Rowley, Fishburn and Shrimpton and doesn’t often pick them (never picks them if no injuries) and Braithwaite on a dual basis. Rowley, Brogan and Nicholson were from teams now in a higher division so presumably weren’t cheap. Wouldn’t two good enough to be regular starters have been better tha five that, in AB’s opinion, aren’t?
He wants WBs but didn’t sign any.1 user thanked author for this post.
November 10, 2024 at 10:40 am #293569Yeah if you guarantee no injuries in your perfect world. It’s going to take time to undo the mess .I’d say his biggest mistake was starting well as most on here and in most media had resigned ourselves to mid table at best
November 10, 2024 at 10:53 am #293578There’s a very sensible post on there suggesting everyone takes a reality check, From Jack McNeill. Predictably he’s been piled on with the names Butler, Butterfield and Dean featuring.

November 10, 2024 at 11:01 am #293584He didn’t actually use Reality Check Deerey, i’m summing up the post without having to copy and paste it.
Also there was a few bans last night going by the Admin rant. hilarious.

Like that’s just a minor part of our recent history. Yes, the on field situation is not good enough for us right now, but some perspective is needed. Some sounded happier when we were on the verge with unpaid staff and a move to Gainsborough on the horizon than now with a healthier off field situation. Yes, the performances haven’t been good, but the OTT nature as if this season’s poor form trumps the club dying is mad.

Just read the thread. Hard to take much of the comments seriously when you have Sherbet pontificating about how the club should be run.
November 10, 2024 at 11:32 am #293592Some Scunny fans want Butler to fail because he’s not Jimmy Dean.
I’m no Jimmy fan as you all know but if you dive into his previous managerial record and the way he got there and how he was backed doesn’t make for good reading(some of it can be found in the Peterborough Telegraph) But that’s beyond the low attention span of some who post over there.
I’d be more than happy to be where Boston are, or if not as well, Scarborough. Some way from that yet.
November 10, 2024 at 11:36 am #293594Must say, on topic, a few ex Brusters on the group are probably wondering why they ever migrated over there given the ridicule they’re experiencing
November 10, 2024 at 11:46 am #293597I have also heard some whispers about Dean and his own past, which are a bit disconcerting.
