Looks to me like season tickets sales are at an all time low… time to get some positive spin out there and get the locals spending their hard earned money.
This ownership deserves average home gates of under 1,000 people.
Do new players deserve that : No
Does the club benefit from that: NoHowever enough is enough!!
Supporting Scunthorpe has become an awful experience and absolute waste of time & money!!
Losing games I can accept but not the way we’ve been doing it for a long long time!
Enough is enough6 users thanked author for this post.
May 11, 2021 at 9:02 am #206704Just the usual PR exercise that gets trotted out when the heat is on, little more content then normal due to the club assets being nicked but it’s basically the same old drivel. Still can’t let fans see the full details of the transaction due ” to legal reasons “, yeah right and then it’s the usual ” we will build this and that and tother blah blah blah “. The gripe about things being released before he wanted was the biggest reason the statement was released, egotists hate being upstaged.

May 11, 2021 at 9:26 am #206706should he be surprised, he needs to do something to get the fans interested, signing players you have never heard of and now no match day programme he has to do something amazing because what we saw last season on iFollow will not have fans rushing to buy season tickets, even chunkier chips and a new selection of pies in the kiosks will do it, we want to see a couple of interesting signings before the end of the month who the fans may say wow to, not reserve players from North Ferriby etc.

May 11, 2021 at 9:27 am #206707A load of hot air and bluster…
What I take from it is the following:
1. Profits from the apartments will be used to develop the ground and training facilities
2. The ground and training facilities are owned by Coolsilk
3. Improved facilities will likely lead to higher rent
4. Anyone who wants to buy the club will be forced to stay a SVS unless they provide a ground and facilities of an equal standard.
5. We will have to eat a lot of carvery to fund the playing squad. The only real beneficiary from this whole debacle is Coolsilk. Not that much to get excited about!

May 11, 2021 at 9:40 am #206710I have had a season ticket since 1988 at glanford park but doubt I will be renewing.
Dire football, and a chairman who I have always backed has let us down badly.
I don’t trust him at all now since this ground debacle and I don’t think we have a future as a football club, I think he has ruined that.
I don’t believe a word he says anymore.11 users thanked author for this post.
May 11, 2021 at 10:36 am #206714I feel the same as you and completely agree, I was going to give it one more season because I may give the car up in another year because I have got problems with dry eyes and it is severe in my left one, I can see OK but it is really irritating, and still don’t know what it would be like watching live football.

May 11, 2021 at 12:29 pm #206720Even more irritation Mick!
Yes, I’m afraid it’s all weasel words, so unless there’s actually something positive to be SEEN he might as well not say anything.

May 11, 2021 at 12:40 pm #206722Don’t believe one word. The ‘leaked’ document took control from the chairman and it hurt.
The supporter has been kept at arms length since the first day of the takeover and they still are. The chairman might hear or read fans concerns but takes no notice.

May 11, 2021 at 1:08 pm #206723Wow – there are plans to build and develop in the coming months (repeat ad nauseam).
The take I got from this drivel is the ACV isn’t what it seems (according to Swann) and only lasts for 6 weeks so nothing for him to be concerned about – however he will still block it because that’s the kind of inclusive business he is running for the community.
He used to end his statements with ‘Up the Iron’ now it’s buy some meat, get some beer give me some money in whatever form you can because I don’t really care about it but if you want a striker then give me some money so my son can ask his agent mate if he’s got anybody with less than two hernias
I’s like to know who buys into this consistent message?

Sorry to hear that mick, sad to say you’ll get more sympathy on here than from the club who clearly have little regard for long standing supporters. Luckily they have impressive plans in place to attract hundreds if not thousands of new, young fans to replace…. oh, hang on – no that’s somebody else, sorry.

May 11, 2021 at 2:40 pm #206726“I have been asked recently why fans cannot buy shares currently and my answer is that there is no point or benefit to fans as we own over 90 per cent of the club.”
I don’t think anyone bought shares in SUFC as an investment or to have a say, it was about having a literal stake in the club and feeling part of it. Fans were proud to say they were shareholders. That sort of engagement could be useful in difficult times.
” I am quite aware of the difficulties surrounding democratic decisions on signing managers, players and coaches. You just cannot imagine signing someone with a 55 per cent acceptance and a 45 per cent non-acceptance, it just will not work.”
Was anyone suggesting we demand all signings be put to the popular vote? What was the club that tried doing this a few years ago (I think Matt Godden went there too). Somewhere near Dartford I think.

Hi Mike, sorry to hear about your eyes mate, I have big problems with my own, last week had the cataract op on the right eye, six years ago it was the same op on my left eye, also have glucomer (please no comments regarding spelling, and malicular deteriation, but luck on the bright side if possible Mike, it has been really shocking watching the 46 games on i-follower, just imagin how bad it would have been if we had no eye ptroblems ha ha! I have another left eye op in a few weeks which is a lazer sweep, to remove the foggy sight, after that the next step will probably be a bloody white stick.
