We’ve got to win the play offs and make sure that we are in the NL (EFL 3 – it deserves it) next season.
Another season in this quagmire and we’ll all go mad!
March 28, 2024 at 9:18 am #283303Well we have been shite since New Year.

March 28, 2024 at 9:25 am #283304‘Another season in this quagmire and we’ll all go mad!’ I think almost every other NLN club wants us promoted. As in gone.
March 28, 2024 at 10:18 am #283309Farsley don’t,
March 28, 2024 at 10:26 am #283311‘Almost’ I said. You can always contact a representative sample of supporters from other NLN clubs and prove me wrong.
March 28, 2024 at 10:28 am #283312im guessing many have enjoyed the extra income traveling Iron fans have generated this season ..
im sure Alex Cheshire Cheese landlord will be torn between promotion and being promoted..There are of course numerous reasons why we must get out of this nasty league .. York City is one and my piss is still boiling from the ref at SPMT .. in truth just one of very very poor referees throughout the season this Taylor guy has to take the prize for worst decision ive seen.
Playing better which is obviously good but the play offs are a lottery and Scunny are consistent at not turning up for the big games so they do worry me.

March 28, 2024 at 10:51 am #283315Why York IFA, I was talking clubs Deerey not supporters, don’t understand why supporters would want us promoted the first thing all other fans in our league would have looked at is when do we play scunny away and we’re the team they all want to beat, our fans bring money to their clubs and towns if they can keep us for some more seasons I’m sure they’ll be well happy. Stopping the segregation at every ground would helpful all round money for them better viewing for us.

March 28, 2024 at 4:02 pm #283329Re York … if we dont go up could find ourselves in NLN with them next season and they may possibly be well backed financially where as we will not.
Im guessing all current NLN clubs would want us to stay down .. possibly weaker next season but still well supported which means added income for them ..OH plus the glamour of playing the once great mighty Iron OBVIOUSLY

March 28, 2024 at 4:20 pm #283331Agree with you to an extent awaywego re other clubs welcoming more income. Don’t they have to pay for extra stewarding and policing though?
I’d imagine a lot of orher clubs supporters will be happy for us to be gone from NLN particularly with this ‘big club / refs hate us’ crap. That said, many will want us to fail too of course.
March 28, 2024 at 5:26 pm #283333I think you only pay for policing inside the ground, more stewarding costs probably but it goes with the territory of a bigger crowd and don’t forget we are forced to have more stewards at every game than we wanted, that being the royal we “Hilton” trying to cut costs but coming up against (well you tell me). Farsley went above and beyond to get every penny they could out of us and was well appreciated, Curzon on the other hand segregated us away from the ground side bar, clubhouse and the decent catering outlet, all for less than 200 of their own fans.
Ps leaving the ground at Warrington you’d have thought we were leaving a premiership game 3 police vans 2 cars and 20+ police for 450 of us.1 user thanked author for this post.
March 28, 2024 at 8:51 pm #283340Really hope we can win the playoffs and get out of NLN standard of refs a joke we can’t win in the northeast, its always raining everywhere we go and the teams coming up which could include Robbie Savage rangers will have bigger budgets.
Also our fans and the town surrounding areas and local businesses have rallied around to support the club how long will patience last without success? Appears one local councillor is already running out of patience UTIMarch 28, 2024 at 9:01 pm #283341Second in the league isn’t success then?
March 29, 2024 at 9:24 am #283346Second in my opinion is only success if we go up NI
April 27, 2024 at 5:56 pm #284571Pass me a mogadon.
Wake me up if we ever get back to the EFL!April 27, 2024 at 10:11 pm #284623Second in my opinion is only success if we go up NI
Too true mate!
More depressed tonight than I was this time last year.
April 27, 2024 at 11:42 pm #284629I’m optimistic about the future. We finally have good ownership. It starts at the top with solid stable intelligent custodians and permeates throughout the club and on to the pitch. Bin the past and carry on the rebirth. Onwards and upwards. UTI
April 27, 2024 at 11:51 pm #284630Harsh Reality for some of our younger fans today, the biggest budget, the biggest squad, the biggest amount of bravado doesn’t guarantee you promotion.
April 27, 2024 at 11:58 pm #284632The HMS p**s the league stuff was rather irritating. Hopefully we’ll have less of that now.

If we had a half decent manager we would have dicked this league. Our fringe players who couldn’t get a sniff here dominated elsewhere, but Dean clearly never got the best out of them.

April 30, 2024 at 4:22 pm #284940I’m sure that the bookies will chalk us up as favourites again for season 2024/25.
Is that a burden?April 30, 2024 at 6:07 pm #284947Next season im sure Scunny will be one of the favourites ..one of a few
Losers of the play off final Boston or Brackley
Chester
ChorleyBut if MACCLESFIELD TOWN are promoted they will be right up there.
Our best chance was this season and try to avoid relegation in the NL next alas not to be and IMO it will be way way harder next season.
FWI i predict with JD next season as it seems he will be offered a new deal it will mid table to low play off at best.. i can see 3 to 5 seasons in NLN now..hopefully im wrong.

April 30, 2024 at 8:30 pm #284957A chance to further reverse the decline has been lost.
What happens next season based on the 1st decision the board will make. When you everyones comments virtually all say thank you but a different attitude is needed in the dugout. As others say if JD stays and the squad are his choices then should the axe fall the new person will have to work with what is there with possibly a couple of signings of support.
Big decisions.
April 30, 2024 at 9:11 pm #284959Hope it is Macclesfield it’s good away day for fans, they will have a bigger budget than us the 2022 budget was 1.25 million they then put up season ticket prices last season to build a better squad, Savage has put in £4 million since 2020 take note folks. 2-0 up at the moment in their semi.
April 30, 2024 at 9:34 pm #284960Macc currently 3 up
