Slight reduction from last season, well done to all season ticket holders you got a massive reduction.
July 7, 2022 at 6:15 pm #240130Those prices won’t encourage the casual fan. Over £20 to watch non league football unless you fork out for membership and buy in advance. At a time when the cost of living has never been so high.
Absolute bonkers.

July 7, 2022 at 8:03 pm #240133Membership is £30 so no benefit there, the playing budget is based on season ticket sales not casual’s,every casual is a bonus to the club. Season tickets are still on sale up until the of 18th July so people can still make a big saving.
July 7, 2022 at 8:13 pm #240135The playing budget may well be based on season ticket sales but I’m sure the club management regard casual supporters as a bit more than a ‘bonus’. They’re vital to the overall season revenue, surely?
July 7, 2022 at 8:30 pm #240140Have you turned to the dark side Deerey? Do you now think the club management (Swanny) have some regard for season ticket holders let alone us casual’s? Every casual is ching ching.

July 7, 2022 at 8:39 pm #240141Agree with awaywego, they have priced to maximise season ticket sales and to hell with the casuals. Until mid Oct when they are near the bottom and the 2 game for 1 type offers start rolling out as winter begins to bite and they try to keep gates above 1500

July 7, 2022 at 10:30 pm #240149Not what I said awaywego. Nothing about how they regard any supporters. Just that surely casuals are vital to overall revenue? Certainly not saying they’ve set prices right or have any regard for fans. Miscalculated pricing, yes. But that’s hardly a surprise.

July 7, 2022 at 11:13 pm #240150Last season Chesterfield’s match day tickets were £20 – £22, with concessions £16 – £18.
I think you find that former league clubs pricing are around that figure.
Yeovil, Notts County and Wrexham are all around the same price.
July 8, 2022 at 1:01 am #240152Over 20 quid in the NL seems a tad steep to me .. saying that im out of touch with prices in Blighty. Does anyone have the prices for other clubs .. meaning the cheapest club and the most expensive , im guessing it will average out at around 15 16 quid ???
My last visit to the UK i think i paid about 12 or 13 quid to get in GP .. trying to recall my the days of going to TOSG and how much i paid ..alas where as my love for Scunny is still ever present my memory is giving up nowadays.July 8, 2022 at 9:24 am #240153Those prices won’t encourage the casual fan. I’ve said it for years: it makes no sense to charge the highest prices to the least committed fans – they’re the ones who are most likely to be put off by the price. As someone who lives away from Scunny, I sometimes go to watch other teams on a Saturday and I’ve definitely made a choice about which game to go to based on the cost of getting in. With Donny, Lincoln & the Cods all on our doorstep, probably charging about the same to get in, I’m not sure how many casuals are going to be choosing to spend their £20+ in non-league.
As we’ve seen in the test matches this summer, making the last day free admission has filled the grounds and therefore filled the bars. The counties in question seem to have done pretty well out of it and might have made some new fans too. I’m not saying it should be free to get into GP but it goes to show that a bit of creative thinking can go a long way instead of just doing the same old thing.

July 8, 2022 at 9:27 am #240154Just double-checked the prices versus last season – same cost for the terrace except there now seems to be a “matchday” price which is £3 more. Why?

Take the women’s England match at the theatre of nightmares the other night. Press and media constantly saying it was a sell out when a large amount of tickets were given away to school groups and kids. You won’t ever see or hear that though, but it makes perfect marketing sense – makes future matches more appealing to potential buyers. Similar to a loss leader. SUFC need to be more strategic – across the board

It’s quite simple
They offer you a £3 reduction if you buy in advance. You will attend if you purchase a ticket.
If they have the same “pay on the day” price no-one will buy in advance. Then, if the weather is crap, you got hammered on Fri night, Scunny got hammered on the Wed night (very possible), or the missus wants you to go shopping, you won’t bother going.
July 8, 2022 at 10:09 am #240160July 8, 2022 at 10:19 am #240161Of course it could be seen as a plan to encourage people to buy season tickets. I’m not sure of how successful that might prove, we’ll see when the season starts.

July 8, 2022 at 10:42 am #240165We’re top of the league! Yay!
First time we have been anywhere near the top of something for a while. The article is fairly misleading quoting nearly £500 for a season ticket in the executive seating. Does anyone actually buy season tickets at that price. My season ticket was £190 albeit old geezer rates.

Which is all very well until the weather turns out to be nice and people think “might go to the football” only to decide “£21? No chance”.
It’s a false economy in my opinion.

If that were the case, it would have made sense to publish these prices during the “early bird” season ticket period, surely? Then you could see what you were actually saving.
July 8, 2022 at 10:46 am #240167Yeah not great journalism was it, but it shows that clubs with previous EFL pedigree can get away with charging more.
Having said that, last season’s winners were Kings Lynn who were charging £400+
July 8, 2022 at 10:51 am #240168Had a look on Gateshead website.
ST – £295 (£195 conc). Match day – £18 (£12 conc).
Shite stadium mind!

Not sure I’d want a voucher for a programme which doesn’t exist any more!
Perfectly good idea otherwise though. I definitely think a multibuy option like saving a few quid per game on 3 tickets is better than penalising last-minute purchases.

July 8, 2022 at 3:47 pm #240201I’m sure our commercial staff must spend hours brainstorming different scenarios to get bums on seats without upsetting the already prepaid season ticket holder’s.just needs someone to be brave, how about a half price match early in the season to attract some crowd back, obviously we would need to win such game which could be harder to do than implement the offer

I don’t know what the commercial department consists of but I think you’re being extremely generous here. The club could save several wages and lots of time by simply employing one person to read Bru, pretend the ideas were theirs and action the serious ones.

July 11, 2022 at 1:06 am #240308It’s like the replica kit saga another absolute shambles. Who dreams up these own goals time after time?
The hardcore home support base is down by two thirds of what is was under Graham Alexander.
It’s like somebody sits there thinking what can we possibly do to piss another tranche of supporters off. Hey look we have served up some absolute drivel on the pitch for a few years and they are still here.
Look 30 miles up the road and it’s a different story on and off the field, Ernest Pawn needs to go so people can be brought in with commercial nous and good business acumen.
Our club stinks from top to bottom and I cannot think of a single positive for some considerable time. My loyalty to Scunthorpe United is paramount and unwavering but I dislike everything about the club.
I will not be driven away by the egotistical narcissist wanker responsible.
PS I won’t be buying a replica shirt anyway it’s f……g embarrassing being an Iron supporter without advertising it.

There is never any fare to purchase so a pointless exercise.
