So no cash can be spent whatsoever in the Stadium, that includes Car Park entry, Turnstiles, Refreshments and any other thing that is normally bought by cash.

They say that it will speed up things, so how can paying by Credit card speed up paying for the car park entry on Brownsword Way, instead of handing over £4 in cash??, And buying a coffee by cedit cad also, people will just take their own if they require a drink, and will John have a credit card mackine for takings for his half time draw, once again not a lot of thaught has gone into another brainless rule, all will deter some people attending, and the club have already sped up ground entry by their action of pissing off so many ex-loyal supporters, or are they expecting people lining up round the M&S car park eagerly waiting to get to the games!!!!!

Good point about Staffy barton. Presumably winners will want paying in cash so where will that come from? Can’t see John walking around with a contactless card machine so could be the end of an era, he might have to start watching the games and suffer like the rest of us.

Yes it’s another nail in the non league coffin that is heading our way next May. The car park won’t be a big deal for a lot of people, I presume the stewards will have hand held devices you will just sweep your card over, about the same time it takes to hand them three quid and as for the stadium I personally never spend a bean at the food points because the food and service is crap. Have a nice lunch at home before the game, grab a pint if you want one in a local boozer before KO ( nominated drivers will help ) and tell the Prawn we except he is driving the club into oblivion but apart from a match day fee to gain entry, he can bollocks. Playing right into his hands I know but the ethos of our club has been draining away for years and I’m afraid unless a local well intentioned rich bloke comes along who GENUINELY loves the club, we are all pretty much shafted. Rich people always win, that’s why we need a revolution in this country.

I am largely against the move to a “cashless society” for many reasons, not least because it excludes a lot of people who can’t get bank accounts/debit cards for whatever reason. Plus it leaves a trail – not ideal if you’re in an abusive relationship for example. It also makes it harder for charities to do bucket collections.

But, that said, I don’t think it’ll make a huge difference at GP. Indeed, it might make things quicker at the bar. Some big grounds have been using stadium cards for years where you can only pay for things with a top-up card (I think this doubles as your season ticket too), so it’s been coming.

Is it really a big deal, on the rare occasion that I attend I buy a ticket at the office and never use the food facilities due to the queue, excessive prices and poor quality also haven’t bought a program for years, £26 was enough to pay for an afternoons punishment. I can see draaaaaaw tickets been an exception where cash is allowed so in my view the only potential looser is the club.
So just another thing to add to the increasing list of….. less at the Sands Siro.

    Cashless
    Enjoymentless
    Goalless
    Funless
    Groundless
    Etc.

also haven’t bought a program for years

And now you don’t have the opportunity to.

I’ve said for years that the club’s motto should always be to make it as easy as possible for people to part with their money and yet barriers always seem to be put up, from all-ticket games to queues to crap products.

I must be old fashioned. I just want a team of players trying to win football matches and at least occasionally succeeding.

The rest of it is nice to have but not worth much without the football.

We have had precious little of that for 3 years now.

You would expect that is the intent of most businesses to make it easy for you to part with your money, and most successful businesses do.
The last nib time I did go to a game bought my ticket online, only to find that to collect it I had to stand in the normal ticket queue, won’t be booking online again.
Cashless will definately put off those who decide to attend at the last minute.

If you can’t beat em join em!

I too have gone cashless and wont be imparting with any at the Ernest Pawn Stadium.

Its novel but I fear it will soon be a Crowdless Stadium.

Maybe the supporters panel can raise it at their first meeting? Whereby the club will have umpteen reasons to justify this latest “Browning 9mm hole in a favoured peg” and no doubt some handy statistics from the 4/5 home games they will be based on.

Well done Ernie another brick in your development wall and sod of grass dug up.

If you have access to a printer Vader you can buy your ticket online and print it out.

Also if you have a smartphone then the confirmation email has the code which you can use to get in.

Unfortunately if you have neither then your in the queue anyway so no point buying online.

Maybe they should give free wifi for phones etc in the ground because the normal supplier signal is often lost in a stadium,,as im sure many people checking bets etc will relate to

The car park is now £5.00 !!

Mind you with the drop in season ticket sales, which will lead to lower gates coupled with lower footfall in the hospitality units ( now that is a good one, just realised Hospitality !! Tell me where).

The extra £2 will make a huge difference won’t it !!
