I thought Nuttall looked fairly solid. Held the ball up better than usual and won bits and pieces in the air with decent movement. I don’t think he’s ever going to get the goals needed though.
Carver in his 20 odd minute stint looked way more of a threat. Looked neat, tidy and won headers but looked a goal threat. Granted he came on in a different position but looked handy when he came on.
Quite like the look of him and expect to take Nuttall’s place through the middle when he’s fit.
Granted this is off topic but what position was Daniel playing in ?. I saw he floated about a lot but was never fixed to any one position. I couldn’t make head or tail of it.
Very odd.

August 6, 2022 at 9:38 pm #242199And I doubt very much if this is the first time you’ve witnessed this at GP!
August 6, 2022 at 9:39 pm #242201True. I just couldn’t work out where he was playing. I tried to track him to see where he settled but he was all over the place.
August 6, 2022 at 9:43 pm #242203Our front three rotated regularly, especially throughout the first half. Daniel played across each of the front 3 positions but looked a yard off it imo. Probably come on for a game or two, wouldn’t be afraid to throw Wilson in for Maidenhead. UTI

August 6, 2022 at 9:51 pm #242207I like Wilson personally, think he’s definitely got something about him. Daniel will have been a bit behind other players fitness wise because he picked up that injury, didn’t he ?
Wilson is a sub option for Feeney and young Lewis will be a sub option for Daniel but still need another one in. Another attacking wide player, CB and ST and we’ll be alright.
Get a new chairman in with fresh direction and we’ll be buzzing. Turnbull has breathed more life into the club in this short stint at the helm than Swann has in all his years here.
You can see the difference between one passionate bloke who actually loves the club and a horse fancier who supports Leicester City.
The difference is like night and day.
August 6, 2022 at 10:26 pm #242209Without a doubt best performance for a long time Lee is Without doubt making a difference he must have covered every bar stand and inch of that ground today.good team performance but man of match award fans in donny Road end let’s keep it going
August 6, 2022 at 10:30 pm #242211Get a new chairman in Openhearth and a few more players, no reason why today can’t be the norm.

Nothing I like him but you would think that the new owner/owners will probably put fresh people in. That’s not to say Lee can’t still keep his role though and work along side a few others.
I think Turnbull’s fantastic. The work and effort he’s put in to make today what it was is truly impressive. You can tell he loves the club.
Pity Swannster didn’t have the same attitude.

August 7, 2022 at 1:05 am #242222i hope the new owners ..IF n WHEN (fingers still crossed) they come in should strongly consider keeping LT on at the club , credit where its due hes done and doing a great job and its plain to see he cares about the club …unlike some others.
Back to the footy .. keeping Butterfield and Whitehouse fit is of the utmost importance, dropping the youngsters in around them and the more experienced players can only improve them.. talking on line to mates who attended dont think anyone had a bad game by all accounts and the new signings impressed .. great feeling to win a game and play decent football.. i had forgotten just how good it feels especially after last season.
August 7, 2022 at 6:22 am #242224Daniel not too sure about playing in a attacking role. Granted he was a bit behind fitness wise as some of the others but there’s a reason why he’s spent a significantly large chunk of his career at LB.
Nuttall was steady but can’t see him scoring many. Taft at times was a bit iffy but everybody else were pretty impressive. Carver will probably end up taking Nuttall’s place through the middle but as said previously, we need a wide attacking player to add to what we have for sure.
Carver even though not up to match fitness showed more in 20 minutes than Nuttall did all the time he was on the pitch, in terms of actually been a threat on goal. A lot to be pleased about though.
I was more than pleased. I just hope the club get’s moved on to people who are actually willing to do something with it sooner rather than later and we draft some good players in.
