As a paid season ticket holder it costs nothing to watch this rubbish but this is the last time until results get better – the club should pay us for watching.OK Cox is not the right manager but what do you do when the players have been signed by the chairman and looking at this lot he obviously has no idea what to look for.

The problem is that in my opinion we have a Chairman who is all or nothing and now we have nothing. Peter Swann thought he could come into our Club and choose when we would be promoted and coincide it with a new ground being built all in the same season. This talk was so naive. So now that didnt work Swann has decided that we would get rid of all the experienced players which he could, who naturally expect to be on a decent wage, and field a team of mainly under 23 players. Watching the game today on ifollow, being a season ticket holder, i am totally disgusted in the direction which Swann has taken our Club. Neil Cox is just Swann’s puppet. Ive been listening to him on the radio. I believe Cox said we have a squad of 28 players. All our experienced players were moved on by Swann before he came to our Club and the signings made since then have been atrocious so i dont believe Neil Cox can take the blame for the player signings, but i also am not convinced he has the makings of a manager after hearing him on the after match interview. These are my opinions.

McAtee threw the towel in today. Hippolyte was appalling. If the fans had been in today there would have been some dissenting voices around the Directors Box. It was a painful watch (again) UTWI

Watson, Cordner, Bedeau, Hippolyte all shocking.

McGahey and Onarise is our only hope but that will only work with a semi competent keeper.

First half Watson pulled off “the usual” but got away with it thanks to an offside flag. 2nd half progressed to just letting it go straight through him and didn’t bother getting anyone to tap it in.

Onarise looks like he might have something but you could throw Van Dijk into this shower of shite and he’d come out looking like a clown.

Said at half time Hippolyte had the worst half I could remember seeing and boy did he top it. Stupid needless tackle in the first minute of the 2nd. 53 mins he makes his first pass of the day to a scunny player. One minute later, on a booking, kicks someone from behind right in front of the ref.

Liked Cordner at first but he didn’t manage to head it out of our box today and Bedeau is a shambles.

McAtee aka Colclough 2.0 is gonna have a big shock coming his way. Half a season and one goal in league 2 and he thinks he’s Messi and he should be in the prem. Clearly thinks he’s above us now but if he keeps on like he is the only way he’s going is down.

I stopped watching after 70 mins so if anyone got worse or improved (seems unlikely) after that that’s why I didn’t mention it.

The main risk with playing a whole team of youth is if they lose a few games and heads drop, confidence saps away and they can end up ruined for a season or more. This could happen to Watson, as keepers are especially vulnerable.
Youngsters need to be brought in gradually and learn their trade around older heads. Anyone having served an apprenticeship knows this.
Young, rooky players plus inexperienced manager = expensive, ugly car crash. And that’s what we’ve got this season.

Im so glad i decided to give that horror show a miss and went to barton instead to watch them against bottesford. These little non league clubs look after supporters better than our club and i thoroughly enjoyed it and you can even stand/sit and have a beer or two while watching the game. Swann needs to go he’s ruining our club and all the success that has been built up before he got his claws into the club. This isnt scunthorpe united anymore sadly its swann united/sinking sands united and he appoints puppets who are yes men. Cox’ post match interview summed it up, the guy is mr nice guy who doesnt know his arse from his elbow and sadly should have stayed with ardley at notts. I for one wont be bothering again until swann goes because we are being ripped apart and its only a matter of time before its dover on a tuesday night.

Could this be a planned relegation from league football. Its looking a lot like it at present with this plan in place of fielding a team of mostly inexperienced youngsters. This plan was implemented before Neil Cox was appointed and he could be the scapegoat if we are relegated which looks to be what will happen come the end of the season. This is the worst team i have seen playing for our Club over the last 62 years whilst i have been a Scunthorpe United supporter. So this is success is it Mr Swann! What a disgrace.

The usual hyperbole at the start of the season.

“Exciting young players”, “they’ve been on our radar for a while”, “attacking football”. Neil has my full backing”.

Swann has always talked a good game, but has never backed up his rhetoric.

A lot of similarities with the way the government are handling things. Plenty of catchphrases, and reassuring promises, but in reality to little, too late. Taking no notice of those in the know and not giving a shit about joe public.

Wonder when the next cabinet reshuffle is?

I had a chat with Lee Turnbull last night via text and he said they are just dealing with agents, and he feels embarrassed and hurt what is going on at the club after I asked him if he was laughing his socks off.

Didn’t watch the game yesterday but had Cambridge on every Acca at the generous price of 6/4.

From the highlights We look soft as shit and confidence will be now sapped throughout the entire squad.

Worryingly I don’t see what the solution is; our scatter gun/cluster fuck of a transfer policy has left us with a bloated squad with little room for addition.

what has made it worse is in the first 4 games Bedeau and Cordner looked strong but now are nervous wrecks, but the idea of playing no full backs we are completely exposed down the wings and it is no use playing wingbacks who are neither wingers or full backs because it is going to destroy George Hornshaw and Hippolyte if it hasn’t done already. if you want a young squad you need a experienced keeper, full backs and a central defender, all we have available is Gillihead for experience who does his best but it’s a lost cause for him.

my other concern is seeing what height we have upfront and in central defence we hardly win any headers in either penalty area.

I was hoping for a younger team but expected signings of 22 – 28 year old players with league 2 experience not a load of players from non league who weren’t even regulars at that level, some will improve but some will not.

now I am waiting for the next podcast, but Neil Wright is on his honeymoon so it will be left to the others to have a rant.

I have got to admit Barrie having knowing you for over 10 years now and talking to you on the phone last night I have never heard you be so downhearted with the club.

Mick everyone is downhearted how things are going at the moment, but a lot of it is covid related not been at the games not been able to get that frustration out when we are shite or praise when we’re good. I honestly don’t give a crap this season while we can’t attend, and were we are next season so be it, it’s a freak season this year, freak results at times for all teams, let’s not be to downbeat just look at what Harrogate and Barrow fans have missed out on, at least We’ve been there seen it done it.

a lot of it is covid related

Signing a bunch of kids who aren’t up to it has sod all to do with COVID-19.

The crap on offer in the last three years had nowt to do with it either.

The depression set in after that Rotherham semi-final.

No NI the depression started on the 24th of march when Alexander was sacked well before the rotherham semi final, and to think some were pleased to see him go, and you dont think covid is having any affect on results villa 7 liverpool 2 there are loads of freaky results out there. Many believe also that Hurst was getting there and starting to play the football we like. But yes the rest of the three years have been crap.

    Eh? Explain please.

How on Earth do you come to that conclusion unless you’re a Liverpool fan?

Bet you think COVID was responsible for Pickford taking out Van Dijk yesterday.

It all started to go wrong with our Club when Swann took over our Club with his family board of directors and got rid of all the existing directors, so no difference of opinions on decisions involving the running of our Club and player signings etc. would be allowed. All we have had is false promises and no success! This is my opinion.

Defo not a Liverpool fan NI they got us banned from Europe and all the repercussions from Hillsborough. That was just one result i highlighted there have already been plenty of others. Covid was responsible for us having 2 players missing from games because we test and played on, kev had to wait 2 wks for is op because you have to self isolate before going into hospital, others test and then stop playing till there players are clear, others dont test at all, so yes alot of it is covid related.
