January 6, 2022 at 9:11 am #220670“Sources”????? He hasn’t played for 8 months, he won’t be fit until Easter.
Must be a joke.1 user thanked author for this post.
January 6, 2022 at 10:15 am #220675Surely, surely not.
January 6, 2022 at 10:17 am #220677I see young Wilson has gone to Scarborough for a month, thought they might have made it for a season to free up another place.
January 6, 2022 at 10:45 am #220682Said in another thread I thought Calvin would end up here! Matt done next
January 6, 2022 at 11:08 am #220691It’s one of those gambles which, if it works, would be a real fillip. Could help Jarvo develop too.
BUT – how often do those sort of gambles work for us?
There was Beags and Ford, of course, BUT with big ugly strikers who are old and whose fitness is in question – I’m struggling to recall too many successes.
Mind you, if he’s 90% fit and 60% match fit, to be fair, there aren’t too many on here who would argue that it’s not an improvement on Loft.
(I’ll bet a half fit Andrew would cut down the gifting away of possession by a good 80%.)As for Matt Done – similar questions to be asked. Too many gambles, perhaps.
But what can you get for 60 quid a week plus £500 win bonuses?1 user thanked author for this post.

You’re right les, the failures come easily to mind:-
Iwelumo, Ormondroyd, Johnson, Horsfield, Davies, Henderson, Banger.Successes:- Baker and The Beast.
January 6, 2022 at 12:47 pm #22070939 goals in 397 games. Had to double check. Last club 1 in 11 for Barrow. Doesn’t look great does it. Can we get Loft back??

January 6, 2022 at 1:03 pm #220711Of course. The Beast!!
Wasn’t Baker younger, though? We desperately need a back-to-goal forward who can hold the ball up and play others in.
January 6, 2022 at 1:03 pm #220712Kev Ellison anyone?
January 6, 2022 at 1:21 pm #220719“Wasn’t Baker younger, though?”

January 6, 2022 at 8:57 pm #220768Same age as big john gayle ehen he came his record here 4 in 49 at least he would hold the ball up instead it coming back all the time
January 6, 2022 at 9:15 pm #220770Loft back in less than 3weeks ,should be interesting

In 3 weeks Barton will have seen enough and dropped him!

January 7, 2022 at 8:05 pm #220831I said Keith Hill used to love Andrew when at Rochdale but I honestly thought with lack of football/playing time and his age, I didn’t think we’d go there.
I thought he’d be too knackered.
I should have known different. One thing is for certain though, Hill will know him as well as anybody, in terms of what he offers and the type of character he is.
Hill has always liked a big and nasty, probably loves them more than his wife !
I suppose all Hill has to do is get a good half season out of him, it’s all we’ll really need him for.
Old Keith has always loved getting umpteen balls in the box and having a battering ram scrapping for it.
Will Andrew and Burns be the forever loved, little and large dream partnership ?
While we’re at it, I’d move Jarvis on and get another big n nasty. 2 big and nasties, 2 smaller strikers in Scrimshaw and Burns…bit cliche but why not ?
If needs must at end of the season and we desperately need points, we may witness the worst ever style of football played at GP by sticking 2 big n nasties up there and proceed to whack a million crosses in a match.
Old Stoke style.
January 7, 2022 at 8:26 pm #220835Anyone would think we had signed him WG, what do you know that we don’t?.
January 7, 2022 at 9:11 pm #220837It’s a possibility and we’re in need of a striker, he’s better than nothing.
January 8, 2022 at 12:52 am #220843Another of Keith’s personal favourites. Even unfit he could make it stink in our opponents areas. Just don’t think he would be getting back to help the defence much…
January 8, 2022 at 9:37 am #220846Lads, lads, calm down.
It’s a while before this transfer window closes, so it’ll be a while before we can pick up the dregs no-one else wants.
Same as ever, and in reality, who else would come to a team in our position?January 8, 2022 at 10:11 am #220855…..and at our wages.
