Actually i did hear JD was being offered a new deal by some one who attended the business networking even this morning but didnt give it much credence … we shall see ..
When will the retained list be out any idea???
April 30, 2024 at 6:35 pm #284950IFA Their advertising an end of season sale on the OWS but no players on there yet.
April 30, 2024 at 6:46 pm #284953Elliott – big hat no money as they say in Texas!
April 30, 2024 at 8:08 pm #284955Totally agree, who wants to come here if that is how we treat our managers, wake up everyone
April 30, 2024 at 8:23 pm #284956I do wish I could wake up and find out I’d just had a nightmare. Alas no it was real and the football was pretty much shite even though we came second.

April 30, 2024 at 9:10 pm #284958Were the players in those teams we struggled against a better quality than ours? By and large I’m pretty sure they weren’t. So why weren’t we beating those sides, or at least putting a performance in? Can’t just keep blaming parking the bus and refereeing. Wouldn’t have expected to be thrashing them like we did to the really poor sides but it happened too often. I will shut up about this subject now because I don’t want to come across as lobbying, I’m just scratching my head and trying to work out the logic beyond sentimentality, gratitude and not being seen to be heartless and a ‘sacking club’

April 30, 2024 at 10:29 pm #284963We need to get behind Jimmy and what ever team is left to play with. Why are we blaming the manager all the time. Many teams raised their game as playing Scunny was like a cup final for them. Yes we have to get over it but getting rid of Jimmy will not help and as said by others which wonder coach will want to manage a NLN team.
Let’s stick with what we have. We achieved 2nd place and only lost out due to the lottery of penalties1 user thanked author for this post.
May 1, 2024 at 4:44 am #284965But in our cup final he played a bizarre line up and couldn’t see it needed changing, his ineptitude cost us.

We achieved 2nd place and only lost out due to the lottery of penaltiesDF i have no problem in getting behind JD if thats the way the BoVd want to go… im guessing if there was a poll the SUFC fan base would be pretty much a 50/50 split on sticking JD with or not renewing his contract, in a ruthless world the club should get rid IMO but i believe they wont due to 50% of the fans seemingly happy with Jd and some lobbying from the likes of Elliot to keep him .. Michelle Harness is obviously a legend and excellent businesswoman but i dont think she is ruthless enough to not renew his contract now ..but come mid next season and we are at best mid table with low attendances will the board sack him then and have to pay him off.???
For the most part as commented by others the football was pretty dire we only did well against the cannon fodder also rans of the league when coming up against the better sides we struggled.
JDs Team selection and in game subs and tactics were very iffy on numerous occasions
Next season will be way harder for JD to succeed with more than likely a weaker squad.
I like the idea of a clean slate for next season getting rid of any last traces of Hilton and trimming the likes of the bullet dodger Muzzy.
Im sure all will become clearer in the coming days n weeks.

May 1, 2024 at 6:06 am #284967Is anyone saying keep JD as he is a good manager?
Those wanting to get rid – Awful pointless tap tap football, 45 mins of effort per week, not plan B even most times his plan A of 1 striker didn’t work, no game management – subs were poor, signings often not seen beyond a sub appearance, we had the best players yet it was like watching over 50’s walking football
Those to keep – we cant be horrible, who’ll come here (a lot would), be grateful it was only partial failure we came 2nd and still in NLN. Any one wanting to say any football reasons?2 users thanked author for this post.
May 1, 2024 at 6:26 am #284968good point I64 .. ive not heard anyone even the most die hard JD fan say he should stay cos hes a good manager.. only he deserves a chance and he is passionate and loves the club .. gimme a competent manager who can deliver and stop the negatives you mention any day.

Anyone who wants to manage a former league team who play in a proper stadium in front of 3,000+ supporters, rather than a pub team who play on a dodgy pitch surrounded by a white fence watched by 200 old blokes and their grandkids.
Isn’t that what Dean did?

May 1, 2024 at 12:41 pm #285022Totally agree with the point above NI though what he actually said was ‘it’s Scanforp United mate’. That’s not a criticism, but it’s true.
May 1, 2024 at 12:48 pm #285023In case anybody didn’t see it further up the thread, he’s here for the foreseeable.
Not what I would’ve wanted but the board do.May 1, 2024 at 12:53 pm #285024In which case it would be best for all concerned for the club to announce Dean’s new contract.
May 1, 2024 at 2:11 pm #285032In that case Snot who is doing the recruiting, and why did you tell us Jimmy
wouldn’t be here, would seem you were telling us all porkies again.2 users thanked author for this post.

Not what I would’ve wanted but the board do.So who is the jaw-dropping new appointment you’ve been telling us about?
May 1, 2024 at 5:12 pm #285062All this “He’s passionate and loves the club” rubbish is annoying. I am also passionate and love the club but I wouldn’t expect to be given the manager’s job! I have yet to see anything that makes me think “wow, he’s a great manager”.

“Jaw dropping”, where did I state that?
The words I used was “impressed with”.
I’m impressed with the appointment, obviously awayyago isn’t but then the only thing that impresses him is his bullshit.
As for when you find out,it’s obviously when it’s announced.May 1, 2024 at 5:43 pm #285065Currently a poll on the SUFC Fans face book page
Jimmy IN or Jimmy OUT
I did earlier guessimate IMO the fan base was split roughly 50/50
Circa 300 votes in the first hour and as it stands .. IN 58% OUT 42% (not overly inspiring and or brimming with confidence in our manager for next season are we , im also guessing that particular FB page group is erring on the side of pro JD.

May 1, 2024 at 5:51 pm #285066From what I read on there, if you explicitly say you’re against Dean having his contract renewed more than some like, you’re hassled, ridiculed and insulted. Not too far off how anyone who spoke up about Hilton was, only not quite as bad. Yet.

May 1, 2024 at 6:25 pm #285073Nah,he means someone else is going to be given another role.
May 1, 2024 at 7:40 pm #285081I’d say less a feret, more a brown tennis ball IFA. You read much Irvine Welsh?
May 1, 2024 at 8:48 pm #285085One has to wonder if there’s a little… let’s put out a rumour and see what the reaction is, going on. It used to happen regularly on the steelworks
May 2, 2024 at 1:01 am #285090There’s going to be some disappointed people on here, myself included.
See you next season Jimmy.Sound bloody ominous SNOT ..
As spouted a few weeks ago by Mr Elliot the board room tea boy..
“hes goin no where”
Only rumours from twitter, but I read he was being kept on a few days ago. I suspect he’ll get another year contract and get one last chance as a result of having to deal with the happenings of last season.
